Re: TNK 2015 Sliders
It seems that no matter what settings or difficulty I used, every game is a low-scoring pitcher's duel. Every year in The Show my team always has the fewest runs scored (offensively) and I always allow the fewest runs scored. The result? Low scoring games, almost every single game.Comment

Re: TNK 2015 Sliders
My apologies, fellas. I unfortunately have limited gaming time with work and other projects, so its hard for me to get some games in without using QC. Figured there might be others like me using this slider set that might want some feedback. So far, my games seem to have tested well with the sliders and quick counts . I appreciate your work TNK and Im gonna continue to roll with your sliders and keep up with the forum. I will refrain from posting my QC results to prevent cluttering up the thread. Continue on, gentlemen.Comment

Quick counts can skew things though....the base set of these sliders is not using quick count, so I just want to be clear with anyone (not just you) that if you're not getting enough walks, or Ks, or pitch counts are not what you want - then you'll have to tweak your sliders. We just can't put too much weight into your findings or adjust the main set to accommodate guys who aren't using the sliders exactly as they are designed.Comment

Re: TNK 2015 Sliders
TNK - EXHIBITION GAME
Boston Red Sox @ Seattle Mariners
Pitching Matchup - Rick Porcello vs James Paxton
Game was played using the updated sliders in post #1 of the thread
The Red Sox strung together 4 straight hits in the 2nd inning to manufacture a couple runs and take a 2-0 lead. Rick Porcello was outstanding early on in this game as he had allowed just 1 hit through the first 5 innings and had 5 Ks while issuing 2 walks while keeping the Mariners hitters off balance with a great mix of pitches and pin point location. The Red Sox piled up 9 hits off Paxton who battled his way through 5 innings and was able to hold the Sox to just 2 runs and we would head to the 6th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Porcello made it 10 straight Mariners hitters retired with a 1-2-3 6th inning to send the game to the 7th inning with Boston leading 2-0. Porcello continued to get stronger as the game went on as he struck out a pair of batters in the bottom of the 7th to make it 13 straight that he had set down. David Ortiz led off the top of the 8th with a double and came home to score on a RBI single by Pablo Sandoval to make it 3-0. The Red Sox had almost extended their lead when Rusney Castillo smoked a ball in the gap with 2 outs but Sandoval was thrown at trying to score from first at the plate to end the inning. Mike Zunino singled to lead off the bottom of the 8th to break up Porcello's streak of 13 straight retired and give the Mariners their first base runner since the 3rd inning, but Porcello would bounce back and strike out the next two batters before getting a groundball out to end the inning and his night after 8 terrific innings of 2 hit ball as the game would go to the 9th inning with the Red Sox leading 3-0. Red Sox manager John Farrell went with left hander Robbie Ross to begin the bottom of the 9th as Seattle had Seth Smith and Robinson Cano due up. Smith led off with a triple as he lined a ball down the LF line that got past the dive of Hanley Ramirez. Ross would get Cano to bounce back to the mound for the first out and Smith would have to hold at 3rd base. Red Sox closer Koji Uehara would make his way in from the pen looking to record the final 2 outs. Nelson Cruz gave the ball a ride on the 1st pitch he saw from Uehara but his bid for a HR was just short as Betts made the catch on the warning track in CF for the 2nd out as Smith would score on the sac fly to cut the Sox lead to 3-1. Kyle Seager came up next with the Mariners down to their final out and he lined a fastball down the LF line for a double as the Mariners had hope and the tying run would come to the plate in Logan Morrison with 2 outs and the game on the line. Uehara left a splitter up in the zone to Seager who gave it a good ride and brought the crowd to their feet in anticipation of a game tying HR but the ball just didn't have enough juice as Ruseny Castillo made the catch just in front of the wall in right centerfield for the final out as the Red Sox hold on for an exciting 3-1 victory
* The Red Sox did a great job of working counts in this game and getting great pitches to hit which led to a bunch of base runners and opportunities to produce runs as they pounded out 13 hits in the game.
* Rick Porcello was absolutely masterful in this game as he used entire repertoire and did an outstanding job of mixing speeds and location. Porcello retired 13 straight Mariners at one point and struck out 9 in 8 strong innings of shutout baseball
* Rusney Castillo was 4 for 4 with 3 singles and a double for Boston
* Another well played game as the sliders continue to produce variety in a number of areas while remaining realistic without any major flaws at the moment. We will continue to test and adjust accordingly, but I'm pleased with the games I'm getting and will continue to wait another 5 or so games before considering any major adjustments for statistical purposes. This was a somewhat low scoring game but there were plenty of hits and a terrific pitching performance on one side, if you counter this with a high scoring game in one of my next few games - then the sliders are right where you want them to be.

Re: TNK 2015 Sliders
Based on your samples, how are you feeling about the managers decisions to pull the pitchers? Do you feel they are pulling them too early, or in a realistic fashion?Comment

Re: TNK 2015 Sliders
Is it me??? I can't seem to get more than 1 hit in 3 spring training games with the SOX using these sliders... Every year is the same thing... What am I doing wrong? I always take the first pitch and wait for a nice pitch to hit. I only use contact button.Comment

Re: TNK 2015 Sliders
If you don't have every, and I mean every setting/slider set the way they are in post #1 - then I can't help you
....and if you have 1 hit in 3 games on any difficulty or setting - it's youComment
