Might have to tryout quick counts. If it adds more realistic stats and speeds up the game then that's awesome.

I faced Frank Viola and Bert Blyleven (currently playing in a 4 game series in my 1987 year one Yankees franchise).

Those two All-Star (and one HOF) pitchers fanned be 28 times over the course of 2 games.

It was probably the most horrid hitting I have had in years playing this game. They had nasty breaking and off-speed stuff that had me off balance big time. It was crazy.


Play a season. Then let me know. Remember I play every game. If your playing one simming 4-5 etc....your not going to get a true sample of the ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys of the marathon known as a 162 game season.

With QC's I am able to play 2 seasons (every game total of 324 games) inside a year. I also play this game 5-6 days a week easy.

I also play every game and you definitely get realistic stats with QC. For the first time in my life I was able to play a 162 game season with QC last season. IMO its one of the best things that has happened to this game. Im playing this game 7 days a week and wish I can play more but that thing called work and family keep me busy. lol. Threw the first 57 games of my season I have had every game you can imagine with these silders. I will defenitly be playing this game non stop till at least August when madden comes out.

A question about quick counts and stats.... When going into the pause menu and you can see your pitchers stats it only seems to have the stats of the pitches you have thrown not the ones thrown before you take control... Is this correct or am I misreading this?

What have u seen with 1st pitch swinging and do u think it happens too often?

Why raise pitching stamina just because of the use of quick counts? I always use quick counts and pitchers seem to tire out around 90-95 pitches. In fact, the game I am playing now SP Salazar for my Indians pitching a great game (HOF pitching level btw), and is at 83 pitches in the 7th inning. Just gave up a solo homerun to Laroche as I type this however lol. But his stamina bar looks great! His stamina rating is only a 79 too so he will tire out at a realistic pitch count. It just said he was tired after his 88th pitch of the night so very reasonable to me. And with RP it's the same thing we've seen in regards to their stamina for as long as I can remember. Always turn it down to 2.


What are you noticing with your settings of 7 and 4? I enjoy quick counts, so don't want to turn it off so just browsing around the forums to compare slider settings to what I have now after playing at least 40-50 games using quick counts.

That is the only setting I am actually still mulling over and testing as this year QC's has been improved with far less deep counts to start.

Had the opposite happen to me last night (sorta) .... Playing as Cubs, was cruising with a 1 hitter entering the top 9th with Lester on the bump sitting on low 80 pitch count...

Decided to make a run at complete game (2-0 score at the time), a walk and 3 hits later, I am in a tie ballgame. Escape the inning and 1st pitch of the 10th is hit out of the ballpark. I lose 3-2. So depressing.

Hate/Love this game and this slider set..... !!!

Armor,

I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with.
1. major difference between zone and directional? I have used zone in the past, but this year having tough time hitting HR. Can you still have a guy who doesn't hit alot of HR hit more, also can a guy who hit .240 last year hit .300 this year?

2. Dynamic difficulty....what does this do and would it hurt to have it at zero?

3. I have always done meter pitching, have a tough time switching it, but what is the major reason you like it? and do i have to do quick count?

4. Last question is pitch speed? if I am constantly behind pitches, would it be best to lower it to 3, currently using 5?

Question: Has anyone been caught stealing yet? Now granted, I get that base stealers in real life are about 70% successful and that my sample size is small, but so far I'm a perfect 10 for 10, and most of the time I've swiped the bags with ease. Last year was completely different, maybe a shade too difficult. Thoughts?
