Okay.. So I tried two other sets before yours.. I have always avoided your set because I said classic is dumb and won't be fun.. I am eating my words man.

Best game I've ever played of the show just now in my Red Sox franchise.

I won 8-6 at NYY. Hell of a game. I walked a total of 10 batters (6 from starter) and struck out 10. I walked 7 times and struck out 10 times. Gave up 3 home runs, I had none.

By far best slider set for my personal play, absolutely love the no on screen displays. Changed the game!

So glad I decided to give yours a shot, I think I found a winner.

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders

      After my sixth game with these sliders I'm feeling pretty good about them. My biggest concern(s) were as follows;

1.) There would not be variability from game-to-game and that every game was going to be a lower scoring pitcher's duel.

This was put to rest after the Rockies beat me 13-3 and then I turned around and beat them 10-0 a couple days later.

2.) That I still wouldn't walk enough hitters.

While I still may be around the top of the league in fewest walks issued (which I'm not right now) by season's end there's only been one game out of six where I've not issued at least one walk.

In my last game I pitched with Jon Lester (the video game version is obviously much better than how he's been in real life so far) I struck out 7-8 hitters but issued 3 walks. There was another game where I issued 4-5.

For those people who are saying that they still don't issue walks with this setup, I'm not sure I understand how. There are times when I've gone 3-0 on a batter and tried to throw a fastball right down the middle (tapping x without moving my location) and missed my spot for ball four.

On a side note, I'm also drawing more walks than ever before. But sorry Armor & Sword, I don't attributed it necessarily to your sliders as much as I do that I'm finally getting better at recognizing pitches. Ha.

In my last game I walked 5 times, in another game I walked 6. Right now through six games I'm 8th in the Majors in walks. Much better than the dead-last I'm usually in after the first game.

Got to get a few in this weekend. Pitch speed on 3.

My Bucos got no hit against Jon Lester. Yes, I smacked some screamers all game long but the Cubbies made some defensive gems. Animations I had not seen before at the hot corner and OF. Awesome. I even tried to cheap out and get a bunt single by Marte in the 9th, but the officials replay called him out by a half step.

Next game I lit up Hendricks for 6 runs by the 3rd. Talk about variety in this game.

        Excellent sliders.

These are by far the best playing sliders for my style of play. The only issue like some others are having is walks"On both pitching and hitting" I have not played Quick Counts yet because I never cared for it last year. I like to play every pitch but it looks like I will have to try out quick counts this year.

          Thanks for the sliders.

              Armor,
Couple questions you said a couple days ago you had the ball fade on. Did you think it was easier to shut teams down with that on? And are you hitting with the power swing alot and do you see a difference from normal swing.

First off, you're sliders are awesome as usual, been using them for a few years now. Anyway, I am seeing a TON of pop ups. Mainly I'm noticing lots of user (me) pop ups. Anybody else seeing this? I'm thinking of bumping solid hits up 1 but I need to play some more before I do anything, just wondering if others are seeing this too.

A good patch is needed as there are some nasty bugs and stability issues online that need to be cleaned up. Once that big patch hits I am sure this game becomes GOAT.

I was a total meter guy until then as well. While I can't confirm this, I think they made some undocumented changes that made classic pitching better and meter pitching more arcade like.

Hi Armor and guys... A quick question on the " injury " slider at 7 . I don't have much free playing time. My plan is to play just a 1 yr. Pirates franchise. I'm going to play 1 game, sim 9,play 1,sim 9 ect....for the whole season. Basically,I will only be playing 15-20 games or so. Is anyone seeing too many injuries if you simulate a lot of games for the season, with it on 7 ?? I'm not looking for too many injuries,or too little....is 6 a nice balance like 7 ? Any help would be very helpful. Thanks in advance !!!

Would be a good idea to go to 5 or 6 on the injury slider for the games you sim. The games you play leave on 7.

I don't sim games so I leave it at 7. I have played 12 games in my franchise so far and I only had 1 injury so far on the big league team. Lost Ben Revere for a few days with an injury I forget. No DL stint. Other than that, nothing yet.

                            - Yes I am using QC pretty much exclusively now for offline franchise play. I truly feel you get better pitching stats with it on as well as the ability to get in 2-3 games in under 2.5 hours.

                            - Quite the contrary. Ball fade on does not allow me to sit and pin point too long. Plus I get the clean screen (I do not have the pitch selection graphic on anymore) which also gives me more strategy in feeling what pitches are working well vs seeing the confidence level of each pitch. I never use the power swing....maybe once in a blue moon. But it is so rare.

Keep playing though. Also are you using directional a lot? If so you could be getting weak contact on pitches that are inside outing you as well as trying to hit fly balls on lower half strike zone pitches. I am getting the very best hit variety in the history of this series on 15.

                            - Excellent advice. 5 or 6 when you sim, 7 when you play. I play every single game of my team and I get super realistic injuries around the league at 7 as well as on my team. 7 i my sweet spot. Again you would be amazed at the sheer amount of injuries in the MLB IRL. By the All-Star break check out the real DL around the league. It will probably be eye opening.

I did an indepth look into franchise mode injuries last year. Check post #17. That is a good point you bring up about injuries during spring training, I assume it would be a lower rate than during the season but I prefer to go by actual statistics to back up my choices I will try to find that data.

I agree with A&S that 7 is the best number for injuries during games played. I have a separate slider saved called Franchise Sim that I load when simming with everything default but injuries 10.

I have played 10 games with these and they are working out nicely. Only thing is me and the CPU are only striking out on average 4 times a game. Not bad kinda low. I will keep testing, but if strikeouts remain low, what can I change? Thanks.
