I may have to try to learn it someday. I haven't controlled baserunners in a long while. If you had to in MVP05 then that was the last time I even tried it. I mostly played BBPro98 after the NES baseball days (Baseball Stars ftw) and that was on autobaserunning, when I wasn't outright simming games and focusing on the front office side of things, which is something I might have to try in MLBTS as well.

I don't know why, but every game I play there are so few pitches thrown. My starters' pitch count is usually at 45-55 pitches by the 7th inning. The CPU tends to swing at a lot of pitches outside the zone. I think that is why.

I did, but had too many seeds. Went back to OP solid hits. Upped contact to six on both sides and got what I was looking for. Pepper in a few more changes and I'm rolling. For dude who asked about pitch speeds, I have it at 4/6...

Armor what is your thought process behind the off speed slider being higher then the fastball slider?

I'm in the same boat. The games were getting a little stale with so many 2-3 run games. I upped solid hits one click and there were just too many hard hit balls. I'll drop that back down to 4 and up contact to 6 for both CPU and HUM and see how that goes.

I can live with default (4 just makes the batted ball types too far off for my tastes, too many IFFB and Choppers, especially IFFB), but I actually like 7+ for Solid Hits. Balls get hit hard, but the trajectories are more sensible and there's still "not ideal" contact in the game and I might actually get 20% line drives in a game (maybe...lol).

I typically recommend upping contact to 6 vs solid hits to default to pump up the offense more. But everything is personal preference.

It's not really a thought process it is actually how I like the game feel at the plate.

For me and my old eye's fastballs at 3 still look mighty fast and change ups at default 5 still are filthy. It just works for me.

Pitch speed is always a personal slider but I happen to think a separation of 2 with fast ball and off-speed seems to work really well in keeping both pitches separated. If you like fastball at 5 put off-speed to 7.

Again through testing this is what Marino and I found to be the best way to approach it.

Cool man. I will tell anyone who finds themselves in a prolonged slump (15-20 games of pure agony at the dish) up contact and power to 6 for yourselves.

Enjoy the game a little LOL. Once you find your groove....dial it back down again and see if you can continue the good times at the OP levels.

All it takes though is one click up on both those sliders to start hitting again.

                    Or not.

Yeah, man. I was a month in, and balls deep in a team wide slump. Tried the solid hit thing, but that porridge was too cold. Had the pitch speed at 5/7, warmer. Just always late on fastballs. 4/6. Boom. Got juuust right with contact at six. Now, I'm just men amongst boys pitching. Been yo-yoing with HOF. Not sure if I need to bump Reed out of thr setup (which I did), or because it's HOF belittling me. I know I'm the METS, but I'm beginning to feel bad for my opponent's digital families. I'm going to wait a few more weeks when I'm done playing Atlanta and Philly. I'm a LONG TIME lurker here, but had to say thanks for the base set of sliders. I jump between zone, directional, All Star pitching, HOF pitching, auto fielding, and manual fielding. These sliders work with all. I made various other changes to the fielding errors and baserunner speed because I prefer to see less clean fielding with closer plays. I apologize for the Goldilocks reference, but I'm shot like that...

I have a Mets franchise as well. And a Yankees franchise. Lowering human control and consistency sliders to 2 makes pitching more challenging. I use sliders as posted on OP with this tweak and feel that is my sweet spot. I've actually started both my franchises over with this adjustment. No more tweaks for me - ready to start franchises (again) and just enjoy the game.

I also found it funny how in real life the Rays go in to Toronto and win 12-2 and 10-2. If this happened in The Show we would be wondering what sliders we needed to tweak!!

Hey Armor I've been having a lot of fun using your sliders and playing every game in my Pirates franchise. Just one thing that bugs me a little is I seem to have a really good eye/plate discipline and I don't strike out as much as I feel I should (This should be something to be happy about I know lol) Currently as a team I have the lowest strikeouts (90) in the MLB after 18 games (5 less than the Royals).

Do you think increasing both fastball and off speed pitch speed (currently using 3 and 5 respectively as on the OP) would be a solution to this? Also if anyone else has any ideas that would be much appreciated

I'm having trouble laying down sac bunts with my pitchers. Or anyone in general. A sac bunt situation arises and obviously the defense adjusts their alignment for it, but I'd say 9/10 times the fielder will throw to 2b to get the lead runner. I am not able to drop a sac bunt anywhere in front of the pitchers mound, they all are very check swing like dribblers. Is there a way to tone down the power of a bunt?

No. I suggest you angle the bunt to first or third also the AI will not give you a meatball most of the time to bunt, knowing your trying to sac a runner over.

Rightfully so it should be difficult with a pitcher to bunt and sac a runner over. You just have a lot of factors at play. The type of pitch your bunting, the angle your attempting the bunt, and of course and most important, the bunt rating of your pitcher.

Ratings play the biggest role in the dice roll with these settings and that is the intent.

On MLB 15 is was automatic to the point of absolute cheese. They really tuned it properly this season.

I have been able to successfully sac runners to second with my pitcher and sometimes...no. I have also been able to gun down guys at second and turn a double play with AI pitchers bunting....sometimes not. I make sure I don't give them meatballs to bunt. But sometimes they take those pitches and put me in a 2-0 hole then I have to come into the strike zone.

A lot of things at play in that situation.
