I was in a similar place between AS and HOF. So, I went with AS and simply bumped up CPU contact one notch. It looks good so far. You still get the k-rate but the CPU offense is more dangerous. I have also seen more hit variety as the CPU is making more contact (but not always hard contact).
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Yeah HOF. And nope. I follow his set to a T.

I have been playing 2 games per series that way I play with every pitcher eventually.

I think I play roughly 80-90 games this way. Feels like a full season but doesn't take as long.

I'm gonna start using quick counts on certain games so that I can finish sooner.

I have had the same problems on HOF and AS. I was up 5-1 last night in the 8th and lost 7-5. I was on AS. Has happened numerous times so far this year.

            I am.

My fantasy Rockies are 13-19 and the pitching has been a pain to deal with. I get "variety" as well as sometimes I'll win 8-7, 2-1, lose 13-5, etc. Maybe a bit too much variety - or rather too much at the extremes of the bell curve, but that might be the nature of video game baseball vs real baseball.

I get the "different hero every night" feel. One game Ichiro hits the go-ahead hit (a HR no less). Sometimes it's Billy Burns stealing. Sometimes it's Panik and Lindor sparking things, and sometimes it's just Harper being Harper.

Same for the AI, lost a game by giving up a Pesky's Pole HR. Really pissed me off and I know Fenway lol. Sometimes some guy I never heard of or some average Joe jacks one. Sometimes they find a crack in the door and suddenly I'm trying to stop the bleeding and deciding if I want to try to stretch the starter or go to the pen. Some games I win because I induce DPs like a champ, sometimes I lose because that same pitcher doesn't get the same good bounces.

My Marlins carryover is a better team, but still challenging. Won 3-2 last night having to come from behind with small ball for 2 runs to take the lead in the bottom of the 8th. I've lost 5 of 6 with that team - even though they are a 1st-place club.

I've been 1-hit by Guerrieri to lose 1-0, my knuckleballer could be fine...and then give up 4 runs, Huff, my ultra finesse guy could be great or scuffling...sometimes in the same game depending on where the BIP go even if he is inducing poor contact that his 95 H/9 indicates (realistic), etc. About the only time it's "easy mode" is when my ace is on the mound, and he's Arrieta/Kershaw-tier. So it should be "easy" most games with him, but sometimes he can get "hurt" for 3-4 runs. It's not a LOT, but it is for him - and that's baseball, imo. Guys doing worse by THEIR standards, not just bad by average player standards.

I was getting too much of the latter on HoF.

Pitching on HOF has been nerve racking on Classic. I can understand those who use meter needing the much higher difficulty.....but I am going back to AS.

I am going to increase the CPU contact slider to 6 though to give me more fear. What I was lacking at default CPU contact was fear on this years game. I want to pay for mistake pitches. Which you do on HOF...problem was I was seeing them at too high a clip after playing a few dozen games.

I still encourage those who are having a great time with HOF pitching to stick with that works for you.

I have gotten that with his. I put contact at 7 and timing at 7 and it felt good. Have to fear tough hitters without every mistake being OMG 450ft HR.

I think Classic/Directional should stay on All-Star and tweak accordingly. I'm convinced HOF+ is designed for the other interfaces.

This is fantastic news for someone like me struggling between AS and HOF. I never doubt your sliders, EVER, and I truly appreciate all of your time and hard work developing your slider set. I feel guilty sometimes piggy-backing on all of your efforts!! But I sure couldn't get good results pitching in HOF especially with my relievers. Thanks again A&S. I now feel like I can make these changes and FINALLY start my "official" (yet again) franchise. I want to simply play the game without constantly doubting which level to play on. Thanks again

                      Great sliders armor, thanks.

For me on All Star pitching I turn vibration off and it is more challenging, harder to tell where the ball is going. I walk more batters and leave the ball in the zone sometimes and I get hit hard. Not sure if that will help anyone.

That is a great point. I may have to first go back to no ball marker and go from there. I just need more of a challenge on All-Star. HOF is not meant for Classic pitching. With no ball marker the vibration is critical LOL.

After playing more than enough games.....no question it is designed for the other interfaces and really not for classic pitching.

I actually use no ball marker and no vibration, lol. It's a challenge but a lot of fun. I still had the third lowest era with the pirates last year with that setup.

I'm just saying I'm playing classic pitching on HOF with no ball cursor and so far I'm 4-4 with a 3.20 team ERA which is good for about 7th in the league. In 8 games I have 81 strikeouts, so it is possible with concentration and setting up the batters to get the CPU to chase. I thought last year the human pitcher sliders were too easy, but never considered making the jump to HOF. I'm glad you bumped up because I think I am enjoying the game way more than last year now. Now hitting is a different story, I think I'll be on All Star forever, lol.

Oh I am doing pretty damn good on HOF and setting up hitters I am very skilled at. The problem I started running into was location became too inconsistent.

Again HOF is really intense and if anyone loves it stuck with it.
