Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Hey Armor I'm pretty sure a little while ago before you uploaded your newest sliders to the vault you said you'd put base runner speed at 2 and trade slider at 8. They were/are like this in the vault but on your OP post it still says base runner speed at 3 and trade slider at 8. Just wondering did you change them back or is my memory not quite right? LolComment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
I think I can take some of the advice from this thread in order to reduce some of my hitting. After 7 games, I'm hitting .331 as a team, I am 1st in runs (43) and top 3 in hits, homers, doubles and triples. However my question is how do I get more walks on both hitting and pitching ends? I have 6 walks batting and 2 walks pitching after 7 games. That's just too far out of whack.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Pitching on HOF has been nerve racking on Classic. I can understand those who use meter needing the much higher difficulty.....but I am going back to AS.
I am going to increase the CPU contact slider to 6 though to give me more fear. What I was lacking at default CPU contact was fear on this years game. I want to pay for mistake pitches. Which you do on HOF...problem was I was seeing them at too high a clip after playing a few dozen games.
I still encourage those who are having a great time with HOF pitching to stick with that works for you.
OP is being updated.
My biggest issue right now is trying to find a balance offensively. I feel like I'm too good on All-Star but I'm worried that I'll be unrealistically offensively inept on Hall of Fame.Comment

[QUOTE=KBLover;2048140685]
I am.
My fantasy Rockies are 13-19 and the pitching has been a pain to deal with. I get "variety" as well as sometimes I'll win 8-7, 2-1, lose 13-5, etc. Maybe a bit too much variety - or rather too much at the extremes of the bell curve, but that might be the nature of video game baseball vs real baseball.
I get the "different hero every night" feel. One game Ichiro hits the go-ahead hit (a HR no less). Sometimes it's Billy Burns stealing. Sometimes it's Panik and Lindor sparking things, and sometimes it's just Harper being Harper.
Same for the AI, lost a game by giving up a Pesky's Pole HR. Really pissed me off and I know Fenway lol. Sometimes some guy I never heard of or some average Joe jacks one. Sometimes they find a crack in the door and suddenly I'm trying to stop the bleeding and deciding if I want to try to stretch the starter or go to the pen. Some games I win because I induce DPs like a champ, sometimes I lose because that same pitcher doesn't get the same good bounces.
My Marlins carryover is a better team, but still challenging. Won 3-2 last night having to come from behind with small ball for 2 runs to take the lead in the bottom of the 8th. I've lost 5 of 6 with that team - even though they are a 1st-place club.
I've been 1-hit by Guerrieri to lose 1-0, my knuckleballer could be fine...and then give up 4 runs, Huff, my ultra finesse guy could be great or scuffling...sometimes in the same game depending on where the BIP go even if he is inducing poor contact that his 95 H/9 indicates (realistic), etc. About the only time it's "easy mode" is when my ace is on the mound, and he's Arrieta/Kershaw-tier. So it should be "easy" most games with him, but sometimes he can get "hurt" for 3-4 runs. It's not a LOT, but it is for him - and that's baseball, imo. Guys doing worse by THEIR standards, not just bad by average player standards.
I was getting too much of the latter on HoF.Yankees modern day

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
Alright boys I got a new issue for ya. I'm using same settings / sliders for pitching as the OP. Here are my cpu's results through 7 games:
Team: Runs/Hits
Game 1 OAK: 4/5 -Chris Sale
2 Oak: 2/9
3 Oak: 0/9
4 Oak: 0/6
5 Cle: 0/8
6 Cle: 6/7 -Chris Sale
7 Cle: 0/3
Now I don't think that Chicago just has overpowering stuff in the rotation. As you can see, the hits are decent, mix in some walks here and there, but the CPU can't seem to drive in runs. Am I just facing weak offenses? Even so I can't see myself pitching 4 shutout games out of 7. Should I change something? Try more games? Let me know what you all think.Comment

And for the record Oakland and Cleveland are not exactly great run producing teams, but I am sure you will run into a buzz saw soon. Just keep playing. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders
The move back to All Star pitching is wise. Even though I've had some shut down games once or twice, the accuracy really gets out of control after enough games. You also see HRs on pitches that shouldn't be. Since the move back to All Star, those pitches are now hit hard but more variety. Not HR or bust. I see doubles in gaps, off the Green Monster, etc.
Contact is a must at 6 for those going back, at 5, they don't punish meat pitches like they should. At 6, it's very realistic.
I also wanna say to the guy above, I'm in a rut right now with runs, I have 5-11 hits but only 1 run with most games 0. The thing about baseball, you can rope the ball all over the field but that one double play ball or pop up can ruin the inning and leave runners on base.Comment

Even pitches down the middle are outs 65% of the time from what I can find with 1 in 7 fly balls going for HR on average. The better hitters will be better but a 50/50 type guy, he shouldn't with any consistency...otherwise, he'd be a better hitter!"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Now...if those servers would come back up I could DL the V2 OSFM 40 man and finally get my Yankees rebuilding project into full gear!!!
Edit - Servers back up.....may have to bow out of the office early today....I got priorities!!Last edited by Armor and Sword; 04-26-2016, 12:42 PM.Now Playing on PS5:
