Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders

Need a little help and opinions. Using Armors sliders.
I do not want to change the sliders too much. I am in a Cubs and Tiger franchise.
Facts: I strike out the CPU approximately 10-12 times a game while they strike me out 2-5 times. Neither side walks but 1-2 a game. Does not matter who the pitcher is for either side. I have the pitcher sliders at 3 for each of their sliders.

The scores to the last 5-6 games have all been 4-2,4-3 etc.( no variety ) I always do something to screw up my auto baserunning and it costs me 1-3 runs a game. I feel like I am close to getting to MY SLIDERS.

I would like higher scoring sometimes with an occasional shutout etc.

What do you say? Appreciate all comments.

Hey Armour. I put my sliders back to what you have them on the OP. But I still think the cpu might need a bit more offense. If that was the case, would increasing timing to 6 be the best choice? And/or raising solid hits to 5? I like power at 5 as I don't want the cpu to turn into a homerun monster. I had adjusted cpu timing to 6 and solid hits to 5 for 2 games and didn't mind the results. The Astros had 9 hits in one game and 10 in the other with 1 homer in each game. I don't want to give the cpu a unrealistic amount of juice either though. What would you tweak if anything? Thanks

Timing to 6 but I would keep solid hits at 4 for hit variety.

Thank you. Much appreciated. Do you think you might move timing to 6? I'm curious how your franchise is going as I'm playing a Yankee franchuse as well. I alternate with a Met franchise too

I've been using these sliders for a cubs franchise and its been a lot of fun. The pitching feels perfect, but the only problem im having is hitting just seems too easy for me. A lot of people were saying just wait and you'll go into a slump eventually... but im 22 games in and im leading the league with 52 home runs while the team in second place is only at 37, im just kinda scared to change the sliders cause i dont want to go from hitting too many HRs to hitting none at all. Anyone got any tips?

Increase pitch speed. I have fastball pitch slider at 5 and offspeed at 7 and its a challenge. Some have these higher

Sliders are playing amazingly. We are done. I also did make two sets. One for simming games within franchise and one to play games. Very convenient to just simply load the sim set and simulate all my games before my game, then load in the game set. Takes less than 20 seconds. Injuries simulated at default 5 are perfect. And playing in game with it at 8 is really great.

Very happy with the game. I am hooked on my fantasy franchise (single team control). So enjoying that and my two Yankees franchises (2016, 1987). I am set.

Enjoy the season folks. Our work is complete. PLAY THE GAME!!!!!
I to have saved a sim sliders version and a play version for my franchise single team control to make the quick switch.

My question is what process do u use to simulate the CPU controlled games?

I play my game using the play slider set and I am receiving score updates during my game from around the league which makes me think they are being simmed without the sim slider set being the active set.

I hope this makes sense. I just don't want to risk my franchise with excess injuries or starter stamina issues.

Load your sim set first.....go to the games scheduled today screen. Sim each game except yours.

Then load your gameplay set...play your game.

                        My Yankees Franchise Opening Day:

                        HOU 7 R 13 H 0 E
                        NYY 1 R 3 H 2 E

Now don't let the scoreline fool you, this was a hard fought 14 Inning Game. Really enjoyed this one, even though we loss. 50% of my Strikeouts were me swinging at bad pitches and the other 50% swinging with too early timing. This was a really fun game, can't wait to finish the series.

                        Tanaka 9.0 IP 6 H 0 R 0 BB 13 K's

                        Keuchel 7.0 IP 1 H 3 BB 13 K'S

                        AS A TEAM:

                        HOU: 14. 0 IP 3 H 1 R 1 ER 8 BB 22 K's

                        NYY: 14.0 IP 13 H 7 R 6 ER 0 BB 20 K'S

I loss this one in the last inning, great game though really and enjoyed it haha also never drew 8 Walks before, the rest of the series should be interesting, Ivan Nova got lit up in the last inning, but I'll put the blame on me, I got away from how I pitch.

I think I'm good with timing at 5 lol. Played my first game of my "official" franchise with your exact sliders and I lost 4-3 in 11 innings. I gave up 10 hits including a double and 2 homers. Cpu struck out 8 times and walked twice. I managed 12 hits but couldn't get the big hit when I needed it.

I'm finally ready to play ball. Thanks Armour for these great sliders and for all of the tips and advice throughout this thread. Go Yankees!!

I have been playing with these sliders with following caveats:

                            1. Solid Hits = 5 for everyone
                            2. Contact = 5 for everyone
                            3. Pitching Difficulty = HoF (Classic)
                            4. Turned off vibration and ball marker
                            5. Wind = 5 (I do not know enough about weather patterns to say Wind = 8 is realistic or not, not sure anyone is)
                            6. Retro camera
                            7. Pitch Speed = 5 (Both)

Everything else is on OP settings and I have been loving results.

Armour, one more question if I may. Certainly no time to make any changes at this point. However, in game 1 I score 3 runs on 12 hits including 2 doubles and a homer. I walked 5 times and struck out 7 times. Game 2 I'm winning 10-2 after 7 innings. I have 13 hits, including 5 doubles and 5 homeruns. I have walked once and struck out 3 times. I know this happens IRL. The Yankees beat the Astros 16-6 in their 2nd game against the Astros. But IF this trend continues 10+ hits, 7+ runs per game, what is the best way to "fairly" tone down my offense a bit? Boosting pitch speed (I'm at 5 and 7 now)? Lower some human hitting sliders? I have tried a few games on HOF and feel that is a little too difficult for me. As I said, I know it's early and not time to make any adjustments yet, just looking for advice if this trend continues. Thanks

You are at Yankee Stadium....You will get alot of HRs where in other parks it would be a fly out or a double.

I play as Yankees too, and hit alot of HRs and few doubles at home.

On the road, I still hit HRs, but I see alot more doubles off the wall or over players heads that would have been HRs in Yankee Stadium. But I also see balls that die in front of track that I say "man that wouldve been gone in Yankee Stadium"

I think it will even out eventually.
