HI Armor and guys. I'm curious to see what most people are using for Fastball and Offspeed sliders. Like the opening page,I have Fastball at 3,Offspeed at 5 . I read a post where the CPU fastball seems a little slower this year ? I seem to be a bit early on Offspeed stuff. I would like to hear people's "sweet spot" with these 2 sliders and why ...... Any feedback would be great, thanks.

I'm at 4/4 mainly because potential impact to SB success rate. (Pitch speed seems to matter to that).

I'd prefer 4/6 if I had my rathers. I can live with 4 FB speed. I can be early on fastball and get around on (or even early on) inside FBs. It's the offspeed that seems much too floaty at 4.

hello guys.. just finished my first month of the season with the Twins.. finished .500 using both AS default and DD.. finally decided to go back to AS but with your sliders as they seem to be the least tweaks of most of the sets... i will be playing 100% of my month of May with these sliders..

Hopefully the rumors are true and that something in the previous 1.04 patch affected offense and that it has been fixed as of today and 1.05 patch.. of course my see ball hit ball first pitch outs aren't helping me at all.

So im looking forward to seeing how i play with these sliders... im not the worlds greatest player but i love this game... will report back weekly...

I'm using 6 for fastball and 8 for offspeed (and I'm 52 years old!!). I was also pulling 95 fastballs too often as well. I tried 5 and 7 respectively and found I was hitting too well and not striking out very much. And, it has actually improved my hitting strangely enough. I don't have much time to react - "see ball, hit ball". I strike out a reasonable amount of time as well by either being too late on a fastball or sitting on fastball and getting fooled by a changeup or curve

I'm at 7 & 7 for both. I find the higher speeds help you determine off speed pitches from fastballs. Also you have to be quicker to act so you don't have a lot of time to think too much about if the pitch is going to be a strike or ball.

Just a quick question for Armour or anyone. If I use auto base running does it matter if I use classic or default? I heard the latest patch fixes Classic? Do I use that? I currently have it on default and have seen some glitches where guys don't leave 1st base on a base hit and get thrown out at 2nd, or guys diving back to the base on a hit with 2 outs. Thanks

You can override autobaserunning - I'm not sure what interface it is (I usually don't override it).

If that uses classic baserunning, then the patch will/should help.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by overriding baserunning? I like using autobaserunning to eliminate human error. If I use autobaserunning, does it matter which I use between classical and default?

If your never going to interfere with auto base running then it does not matter what base running interface you will use.

Thanks Armour. Do you see glitches on default? I've had several instances where the cpu runs itself out of big innings. Gattis led off the inning with a double and I walk the next hitter. On the first pitch to the next hitter gattis takes off to third on a presumably hit and run and gets thrown out by a mile. On the next pitch the runner on 2nd tries to steal 3rd and he is also caught stealing. The hitter strikes out and inning over. Does this happen on classic as well?

I don't play with auto base-running. But my son does....we have seen no glitches at all. I love controlling my base-runners. I am very adept with the default running controls.

I have been playing with fastball speed at 6 and off-speed speed at 7. A few years back I think 4 years back they slowed pitch speed down and with doing that I find with fastball speed below 5 I cant hit at all because I am early on ever thing and it feels more like slow pitch soft ball or something. Also if I do 5 on both I cant tell the difference between off-speed and fastballs at all and am early on ever off-speed pitch and like never strike out. I have thought about going to 8 for off-speed but I find if I go to 8 I have really bad plate discipline.

While the ball is in play, you can still give commands to runners even if you choose autobaserunning.

If you do, the "Auto Baserunning On" sign will go away and present you with the L-stick icon. That means you're now on manual baserunning.

What interface that is, I'm not certain. But that's how you can override if you wanted. I very rarely do, only in the case of (imo) totally ridiculous baserunning behavior, which seems to have been decreased, thankfully.
