    Re: True Game MLB Sliders

So far in Spring Training here are some of my Team Stats:

    .231 BA ranked 27th
    372 At Bats ranked 16th
    40 runs ranked 22nd
    86 hits ranked T-24th
30 doubles ranked 1st (Will keep an eye on this due to fielder speed etc.) next closest team is Miami with 28
    1 Triples ranked T-15th
    12 Home Runs T-13th
    33 Walks 19th
119 Strike outs 30th (last ugh) next closet team is Arizona with 110
10 Grounded in to double play 28th
    4 errors T-4th
    4.41 ERA 25th
    97 Hits allowed T-11th
    49 Runs allowed T-20th
    12 HR Allowed T-18th
    41 BB allowed T-22nd
    65 K's 27th

I will play a few more games and break down the singles, double, triple, and HR averages if I have want a deeper look, more than likely I will. So far the only thing that catches my eye is my double, but with the team I have who normally hit that many I am not too concerned. What I do want to see if the percentage of them that are doubles that could be my concern.

Right now my doubles percentage is 35% and that my friends I will be honest is a little too high for my liking. I am 10-15 % a little too high....the HR and triples look okay to me.

    Triples is 1%
    HR 14%
    Singles 50%

Sounds like I am trial a starter stamina of 7 for the new few games of Spring Training and see where they are when they reach the 5th inning. I have been pulling all my starters between 3-5 innings.

I tried this game at 7 with Tanaka. I just got the getting tired message at 95 pitches. But I’m not yellow yet but I’m close.

The Yankees took 3 out of 4 at home against the Twins before flying out to Anaheim to start a 7 game road trip out west. This was game 9 of a 18 games without a day off.

Game one it was the battle of Japan. Tanaka vs Ohtani. Tanaka did not have his good stuff giving up 8 runs in 5 innings. The cross country flight without a day off really had its tow with the team. We were down 8-2 before scoring single runs in the 6th and 7th to make the game 8-4.

          Yankees 4 11 0 5-2B, 0-BB, 11-K
          Angels 8 12 0 1-2B, 2-HR, 2-BB, 5-K

Game 2 of the series and Gray (4-0) was going for his 5th win against Heaney. Gray gave our bullpen a much needed rest going 9 shut out innings giving up 4 hits with 10 K. Doing stamina at 7 my bar turned yellow at 94 pitches but got the pitcher tired message at 110. I was dealing with the full confidence with Gray.

            Yankees 2 14 0 3-2B, 1-BB, 7-K
            Angels 0 4 0 1-BB, 10-K

I played the full game with contact at 4 and lowered solid hits to 4 and raised power to 6 half way through.

I think confidence is the one thing we over look. When Tillman got shelled the other day his confidence was in the tank. At that point I don't think where the sliders are at matter because he will continue to get rocked. You can visit the mount and help get it back up a little, but you are almost forced to get them out of there when it is less than half but for sure if it is less than a quarter or none left. Now on the other hand if you have a pitcher riding almost full for 3/4 full confidence they pitch lights out and are harder get hits off of if you are batting and they give up fewer hits when pitching.

So many times it may not be the sliders, but the confidence instead. Now sliders do play a major role and influence the game play so they need set to a level where when the confidence is base line the sliders are in line for that to true game play. As the game evolves and confidence goes up or down the game will change based on the pitcher.

I will be moving the Fielder Speed to 3 to see if that helps with the doubles issue and or what effect it has on the game play and number of hits.

I definitely like some of the animations I see on 3, and not making an appreciable difference on doubles, maybe an extra double over 2-3 games, which still keeps things within the realm of possibility. Will be interested to compare results.

It will be interesting to see now that patch 10 was released. I have been moving into a new place this past month, but plan to get on and ensure the settings that I posted last month are still good. I believe I will now start my season and just go with it. Results to follow. Recommendations and other ideas are welcome.

I've used your sliders in the past and they made a pretty enjoyable game. Anxious to try now but i have a problem. Not sure why, but i cannot see your attachment in the op showing the modifiers. Is there any other way that i could see them?

What I have done is added modifiers and only changed one or two sliders as you will see. Quick Count is the way to go for sure, you get the K's and BB and it puts a little added pressure on you when you come to the plate with a few balls or strikes already. Be patient is my advice and what is great is that you can tailor your sliders to you and over time adjust them accordingly to keep it real.

I have been a great fan of the MLB series for years. I have done plenty of testing and modifications with sliders and have developed a modifier concept that enhances game play from game to game and as often as it seems that patches comes out it allows of that variety to counter it at times.

It is great to be back again this year and I look forward to putting out another set with modifications that bring that extra challenge and excitement from game to game . Thanks for all that provided feedback over the past year. This Season BYU14 and bryanm have been a big part now and in the past with getting these sliders to where we are at now.

I must say that I need to endorse BYU14 sliders!

Play is conducted on the PS4.

                        April 15, 2018 UPDATED SETTINGS my V1.2:
Hitting/Pitching: All Star hitting and Hall Of Fame - Classic Pitching Style.
                        Auto fielding and base running
Quick Counts - Adds more realism and pressure when you come to the plate with various pitch counts etc. and it works well with pitcher stamina and getting realistic pitch counts, K's, and walks.
                        Directional hitting
                        Hot Zones: Off
                        Strike Zones: Off

                        Notes from sliders:
                        Contact: 5
Power: 5 - Seems to be the trend across the board.
Timing: 5 I tested lower and think it is adding to the already lack of offense and hit variety that I am experiencing. A little higher here to put some more balls in play etc.
Foul Fr: 3 allows for a variety of hitting and K's
                        Solid H: 5
St Stam: 6 - This is a must increase slider. For both the CPU and Human. I will keep an eye if we need to jump higher to allow pitchers to stay in for a realistic pitch count if they were pulled for getting shelled early. I was on 7 last year (MLB17) but so far 6 seems to be working well.
                        R Stam: 4
                        P Contr: 4
                        P Cons: 5
CSTR Fr: 0 does not apply on quick counts so leave on
CPU HK: 5 - Seems to be fixed since the patch and back more to base line. Will still keep any eye on this though
                        Pick Off: 5
BR SPd: 4 - Provides a realistic base runner speed for a baseline starting point. Modifiers are added if applied.
Errors: 5 Throwing and Fielding. But with modifiers added in I will have to see what I notice.
Field Spd: 2 It seems to be better than last year when I had this at (0) will continue to watch and look for feedback. I decided to drop this from 4 to 2, fielders were still tracking everything down and ranging a little to well in the OF. Will continue to monitor.
Infield and outfield Arm: 5 - Good starting point and not so overpowering.
FLD Reac: 4 (Plays a key role in singles through the hole - Separates the really good infielders from the average players on hot shots down the line and in the hole. Reduce no lower than 3 or you will take away of the game).
                        Steal Abilty : 7
                        Steal Freq: 7
Pitch spds : 5 fast ball; 5 off speed - It is your preference.
                        Injury: 6
Wind: 5 - I roll wind each game with 2 d6 dice, 2-10 and 11=1, 12=0 for the wind for the game. I believe this change game to game based on the dice roll and it adds another concept and variety to the game.
Trade: 4 Increased to 5 in May, 6 in June, and 7 in July of each season until spring training.

                        SLIDER MODIFICATION NOTE EXPLAINED:
I went a step further and added a system which will add modifiers each game to the base-line settings. I have provided below an attachment which details what slider is increased or decreased. When I experimented with this about this time last year I was amazed that every game was now different and presented an entirely new challenge rather than sticking with the base-line sliders as I have done and I am sure as all of you have done now and in the past. As in real life teams go through highs and lows and my adding these modifiers I can now add that factor from game to game to certain sliders rather just sticking with a baseline all year.

To explain I took a deck of cards no Jokers this year. I tried to simplify the process based on feedback.

                        1. I assigned a modifier value to each card.
                        2. Once I start the game I go into the sliders options in settings and I draw 3 cards from the deck, after a good shuffle. 3 cards has been working great and looks like it provides just the right mix of modifiers.
                        3. I take those modifiers and apply them to the base-line stats.
                        4. Once the game is over I reset the sliders to the original base line value.

Doing this creates a new game you could say each time with a new challenge and depending on who you match up against and opens the doors for exciting game play and opportunities. What I noticed over the course of the season up and downs that True MLB teams experience.

I am going to go back to CPU and Human modifiers as I did last season. I did away with the home and away modifiers and decided to go back to my CPU and Human variety

Please feel free to share your thoughts on the modifiers or ideas that could make them better...Below is the modifiers that I am working on and I have also attached the file.

Also could you explain your wind method

You roll 2 dice. If the dice add up to 2-10 then you put the wind slider to that number. If it adds up to 11 you put it at 1 and 12 is 0.
