    Re: True Game MLB Sliders

I was using these and I started to struggle on pitching like I said. So I been using Fenway's sliders and started on All Star. I actually started on Dynamic and it was at All Star and it raised to All Star + and I locked it and been that way for 2 games now. I been seeing good games and a good mix. I'm playing on All Star hitting. I've been doing better now hitting since I'm holding the R3 during the pitch. If its 2 strikes I push the R3 to the right the whole time. If its a power hitter or like a 3-1 count I push it to pull cause it gives the batter more power. Armor has it posted that each way you target the R3 button you gain some things but lose some things. Going opposite field makes more contact but less power I think?

I have hit 5 HR in 4 games and the CPU hit 2 HR. But I had a 6-5 game, 7-5 game, 3-2 game, and a 5-3 game. I'm on a 7 game winning streak. Those games my SP has been good and would throw in my Middle Relief guys to close out the game to save my big guys and they would give up a couple runs. I think his sliders have been working good for me using Quick counts. I suggest trying them at first before going to full counts. I'm not seeing a big advantage right now in the counts.

How are your sliders going? I noticed you revised them. Are you on Veteran or All Star Hitting? I noticed the modifiers say All Star hitting with a modifier for Veteran Hitting. But the OP says Veteran Hitting.

So far so good with the testing. Modifiers are in place and once again big shout out to BUY-14 they got me started this year! More to follow on both blogs...

In my 3rd preseason game the O's lost 9-1 to Detroit

          O's had 7-33 hitting, 2 2B, 0 3B, and 0 HR, 3 BB and 6 K -Getting better here.
          Tigers had 15-39 hitting, 3 2B, 0 3B, and 2 HR, and 6 BB and 3 K

          Modifiers were:

          Wind 8
          Reaction +1
          FLD Run -1
          Pitch Cont -1 HUM

I noticed the fielders are running pretty decent in the OF with a speed. I didn't realize that my timing for the CPU was on 5 BYU-14 has 4. I believe this is making a difference in the CPU. Something I want to track, but I think 4 may be the way to go. In three games so far they seemed to be hitting pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary for an MLB team. I don't think my -1 pitch con helped, but that is what make the modifiers unique.

Finally won a Spring Training Game 1-0 vs Tampa...

Each team had 6 hits. O's scored in the top of the 10th and held on for the victory. Tampa came close to tying in the bottom half as they knocked one off the top of the wall in right and got thrown out at 3rd trying to stretch it.

O's were 6-36, 2 2b and nothing else still, 1 BB and 11 K. I would have thought I would have seen HR by now. My hitting is terrible to say the least.

            Tampa was 6-33, 2 2b and nothing else. 3 BB 8 K

            modifiers were:

            Wind: 7

            +1 Pitch Control CPU
            +1 Speed
            -1 Fld Run

Can’t wait to put these sliders in and start playing. I could be wrong but didn’t you do +1 on injuries when it was raining a couple years ago?

Yes I did...for now since I added more +1 Injuries I am just going with +1 throwing error and +1 to wind rolled.

I did an exhibition game with the Yankees against the Orioles. It was Severino vs Gausman. I didn’t do any modifiers this game. Wanted to test the base.

                  Orioles 4 9 1 1-2B, 3-HR, 2-BB, 6-K
                  Yankees 9 10 0 2-2B, 2-HR, 3-BB, 8-K

Orioles hit 3 solo HR in the 8th and 9th when the Yankees were winning 7-1.

Started a new franchise with the Yankees. Did all the wounds of the show for Yankee Stadium and am ready to go.

                    Game 1
                    Yankees (0-0) @ Blue Jays (0-0)
                    Severino vs Stroman

                    Yankees 5 13 0 6-2B, 1-HR, 3-BB, 8-K
                    Blue Jays 3 6 1 2-2B, 1-HR, 1-BB, 12-K

Modifiers: CPU Timing +1, OF FLD ERR +1, CPU PTCH CONST +1

                    Game 2
                    Yankees (1-0) @ Blue Jays (0-1)
                    Tanaka vs Sanchez

                    Yankees 0 7 0 1-2B, 2-BB, 3-K
                    Blue Jays 1 4 0 3-BB, 10-K

Modifiers: Human Timing +1, Human Contact +1, CPU Contact +1

Couldn’t get anything going against Sanchez. Tanaka got the tough luck loss giving up a RBI single in the 4th for the only run in the game.

I agree. The first game with Severino the CPU had a +1 Timing so I was worried they wouldn’t strike out that much cause he only had 1 K in the first 3 innings. But he finished with 8 in 7 IP.

I played 3 innings of the next game before saving it and in the 3rd inning I’m up 4-0. Couple RBI doubles in the 1st and Judge hit his first HR in the 3rd. So I like the variety of getting shut out one game and then score 3 runs in the first inning of the next game.

I know what you mean. My last game I won 1-0 and this game. The CPU (St. Louis) had a -1 Solid Hit, so I am thinking I have decreased my chance of giving up the long ball. But No....

St. Louis had 8-32 hitting, 2 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 HR scoring 4 runs (4 BB and 8 K).

Now I did win the game 5-4, my hitting was little better and I finally hit a HR with Schoop then with Davis, I hit 8-33 with 4 doubles, and 2 HR (4 BB and 11 K). Davis had 4 RBI.

Modifiers were in the Rain Game:
                          Wind 5 +1 for rain = 6
                          +1 throwing error for rain
                          +1 Pitch Control CPU
                          -1 Solid Hit CPU
                          +1 Speed

Two games in a row that the CPU has +1 Pitch Control....

Great game overall. I did move the ball speeds down from 6 to 5, didn't notice too much of a difference, but I did square the ball up and get better contact from what I can see. I am going to play some more Spring Training Games before I jump to the regular season just to make sure. But so far the sliders are great BYU-14. Glad you guys like the modifiers. If you have any suggestions that could improve the process let me know. I have been kicking around the idea of drawing one card from each suit. I need to look at each suit and see if that would be fair. I do think 3 cards is good, two years ago I drew 4...I don't want to get too crazy, but just enough to add that extra pizzazz.

                          Thanks for the feed back!

Yankees welcomed the Rays for their home opener for a brief two game series.

                            Game 1 Andriese vs Sabathia
                            Rays (1-3). 2 7 0 1-HR, 2-BB, 9-K
                            Yankees (3-1) 7 7 0 3-HR, 3-BB, 4-K

                            Game 2 Archer vs Severino
                            Rays (1-4) 19 20 1 / 3-2B, 10-HR, 6-BB, 9-K
                            Yankees (4-1) 6 7 0 / 2-HR, 3-BB, 7-K

I can not believe I gave up 10 HR to the Rays in one game. I had a 5-3 lead in the 6th after Judge hit a 3 run HR to take the lead in the 5th. Severino fell apart and gave up 3 runs in the 6th. My bullpen gave up 10 runs in the 8th inning on 7 HR. Before this game I had given up 5 HR in 5 games.

It was horrible. Shreve and Warren did all the damage. I didn’t want to waste using Betances, Kahnle, and Robertson for a game that was out of hand.

The Yankees welcomed the Orioles to town.

                                Final/11 innings
                                Orioles 4 12 0 3-2B, 1-HR, 7-BB, 13-K
                                Yankees 3 7 0 2-2B, 2-HR, 2-BB, 11-K

Was losing 3-1 in the 6th when Walker hit a 2 run HR for his 2nd HR in the game. Game remained tied until the 11th when they led the inning off with a double and scored on a RBI single. Good news was I only gave up 1 HR.
