    Re: True Game MLB Sliders

This is just RTTS, but I was having a huge issue with timing. Many many many good timing results that were fouls or pop ups. I had to up the timing to 8 I think just to make it playable.

I played an exhibition game as the Braves vs the Tigers with it back at 5 and I had a pretty good/normal game. I have SH at 2 so Im thinking I need to up the power to make some HR's happen on well hit pitches.

I've played about 10 games so far using your V1 sliders and at first I had a little trouble with early swings and struggled to score more than 1-2 runs. But the past 3-4 games I have scored 3,6,4,6 all of these game I had at least 1 home run. What I've learned from this game is that not every good timin swing will give you a solid hit and you really need to sit back on breaking balls. I think 75% of my home runs were from hanging curveballs or changeups that I felt like I was swinging way to late but the swing time was good.

Good to hear. I believe timing is an issue this year and on quick counts it even makes it more challenging and really tests your patience. I have made three changes based on feedback and my own findings.

        1. Increased Timing from 5 to 6. I want to see if this adds some more productivity and helps with the batter making better contact to put the ball in play or foul it off.
        2. Increased the Foul Frequency from 4 to 5. This should help with fouling off that two strike ball and keep the batter alive to face another pitch.
        3. Decreased the hook from 6 to 5. In the game I was no hit the Yankees pulled Tanaka at the start of the 9th and he was in the high 80's for a pitch count and appeared have over 25% energy left. I have seen other pitchers pulled as well early. I want to start here before increasing the starter stamina from 6 to 7, so I will see how this works.

        Keep the feedback coming!

          Re: True Game MLB Sliders

Played another games with the V2 changes and I must say the game seemed to play better for both the CPU and me. Hits were evenly distributed and K's were down for both the CPU and me. I will continue to test this, because as we all know one game doesn't always mean it is right. I tracked the out distribution for me and the stats are as follows for Me (Seattle Away and the CPU Detroit).

Modifiers were as follows: Fielder Speed +2, Power +1 Human, Wind 4.

          Out tracking

          Human:
Ground outs: 8 (1 DP) and 1 Pick off.
          Pop-outs: 1
          Fly outs: 5
          K's: 13

With the foul frequency up from 4 to 5 I noticed more fouls balls compared to earlier where I wasn't seeing hardly any for very few compared to actual real world foul balls. I believing Timing being moved from 5 to 6 helped as well.

          Final Game Stats:

          Seattle: 3
          Detroit: 2

          Seattle: AB 34, Hits 8, BB 4, K 13, and HR 2
          Detroit: AB 32, Hits 8, BB 1, K 4, and HR 1

Great game all around so for now I will continue to press forward with some more V2 games.

Have you posted your sliders to the vault? And if so what is the name/owner name?

I am going to test a Dynamic Set based off the values on page 1 and use my Modifiers from the attached PDF File. Results to follow. If any one else is using dynamic please me know what you are seeing based off of your slider set.

I am currently in Spring Training and so far so good. I have changed a few things and now am testing HOF pitching from BYU-14's post. I am testing out classic pitching as he recommended and I must say I like it. I am using dynamic hitting and am some where in the veteran area right now. Once I settle in on which set to use I will post them and update my first page. In the past I could not find that HOF pitching set for some added difficulty and realism, but I believe after getting advice and ideas from other slider posters I just about there. I also like dynamic hitting on the quick count setting. I won the last game vs. the Yankee 6-4 and was out hit 9-8. Good game overall for Spring Training. If you have any input I would be happy to hear it.

Okay thank you. I am thinking about doing the Dynamic hitting and doing Hall of Fame pitching as well. Are you using your V3 sliders for offense that you posted or are you using BYU's?

I combined mine and BYU's. I like the aspect of dynamic hitting and HOF pitching. I am using the V4 sliders that are posted on the front page. I will be making the change for the CPU consistency to 4 up from 3. Taking BYU's recommendation on that because I have seen the same thing. I believe I am going to settle in on 2 for Fielder Speed because I have a modifier in there that will allow them to be a 3 if drawn.

Okay thank you. I think 2 is good on Fielding. I had it on 3 and I had a 76 Speed batter only hit a single when he hit it to the wall.

Coach, what do you use for Dynamic Difficulty Sensitivity? Default? When you get to where your comfortable are you going to turn it down or just leave it? Like right now I'm at All Star+. I reached the middle of it but ran into a ace pitcher so it's going back down a little.

Good question. I was just thinking about that. I believe once I get to a point where it is pretty close to real game play I think I am going to zero out the dynamic difficulty, because I noticed earlier that when you do it locks in your current setting. Are you Dynamic pitching and hitting or just hitting and going with the HOF pitching? I like the HOF, but I am going to have to turn down the CPU solid hit to 3 I think like BYU recommended.

I am HOF in pitching and doing Dynamic on offense. I'm at Veteran+ and I'm thinking about locking it in. I'll go on a hot spell and all of a sudden I was on All Star hitting for a couple games then struggled and went back down. Now I'm needing more of a challenge on pitching. Pirates are 1st in the MLB with a 2.30 ERA. 2nd in HR allowed and 1st in strikeouts.
