Mike... Glad to see your back at it for 17... Do you think I would run into any problem incorporating Itbeme's veteran hitting settings into your sliders? I would leave everything else as you have it.

ERA is not the issue here. It's the number of CG/SO and then the usage of bullpen pitchers who are not a closer.

I honestly am not sure as I'm not familiar with those.

Just the default/most recent roster from SIE.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

After running a few more test sim seasons with starter stamina at default, reliever stamina at 0, and manager hook at 7, I'm happy to report that the number of complete games and shutouts is looking very good, as are innings pitched for starters and IP/G for relievers. This is great news, as it was my biggest gripe with the game the past few years.

I have been running numerous tests looking for a good sweet spot, and I'd go with starter stamina 5 for both, reliever stamina 0 for both, manager hook 7.The beauty is thst these should work fine in played games as well.

I also feel the injury slider can go back up to 9 like i had it for Show '15.

I'm very happy too with the trade sliders in post number two; those can stay the exact same as last year.

                  thank you, mike.

may I ask: how is ur bullpen set-up ?

                  I have mine as 1-LRP - 3-MRP - 2-SU - 1-CP

do you suggest 5/0/7 for quick manage as well ?

great job finding the sweet spot.

unless they patch this BS, we will have to sacrifice overall lg. wide ERA for better bullpen usage.

did you check the lg. wide era in ur sims ?

also, I find that if you change all CP to RP and leave the CP slot empty for the first 25-calendar days of season, you will get much hbetter SV/BSV from CP. just put the CP in the MRP for those 25-days.

your thread is my fave !!!!

Mike great to see you back for 17. great sliders so far. Played 3 games in season with the Rangers vs the Indians, 1-0 Rangers, 6-5 Indians (they scored 2 in the top of the 9th), and 7-2 Rangers. Awesome!

AI HRs were pretty spread out and not very many, in second game back to back jacks in top of 9th off my closer and 1 HR in the third game

During my testing, I let the AI control all 30 teams. When it's me, I go with 5 SP, 1 LR/6th starter, a lefty MR, two righty MRs, a lefty setup, a righty setup, closer.

I do not use quick manage. If I'm going to play like that, I will use OOTP which is the far better baseball game.

They looked fine to me. Keep in mind, pitching keeps improving in real life. The league has been trending towards pitchers (ie impatient hitters) for a few years now.

I don't mess with 30 team control. It's not necessary, and I'd rather spend the time playing the game. Also, the CL is the ONLY bullpen pitcher that the game utilizes properly on default.

gotcha and thanks. I know that we folks that love baseball want realism and that is not achievable w/ mlb 17. I do not know why SCEA cannot incorporate a sim engine like OOTP into their game.

yes, we need to PLAY the game and stop getting sucked into slideritis. have you tried any classic rosters or you gonna wait for new OSFM ?

Either using my carryover Twins franchise from 2016 (currently in June), or waiting for OSFM 1.0.
