Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Hey Mike......Every year since I can remember, our slider sets wouldn't change much for us HOF players. Seems it was always a plug and play. This year, with the newly physics-based hits, we're going to have to investigate further. Some of those boomers and screamers I was seeing early seems to have leveled off for me as I'm closing out Spring Training. Not sure if I was getting accustomed to the game or realizing that you'll get punished even more if you miss your pitches. Maybe, a little of both. HOF, looks like a tough challenge this year.

I think I'm happy with fielder speed at 0, and reaction to 4, like in years past. I was giddy when I smacked a liner that went sailing over the CF's head. Something you would rarely see in The Show but in this years game, they're a thing of beauty too. Even the animation playing out looks good. It's even better this year.

CPU Solid Contact and Timing feels good at 4 at the moment for me. Still Testing. Everything is at default for user hitting except fouls (4). However, I may have to adjust when managing. I haven't found that sweet spot yet.

Just completed Spring Training with my slider set from TS16. Still testing out solid hits and power but things did seem to narrow down a bit. I try to play with the same set sliders to play out for "Play Now" and "MOM." I play pitch meter : Bat Dir : Field Analog : BRun Classic

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

I was playing around with the sim for pitchers. It seems the sliders doesn't have as much effect as it did in previous years. I would go 10 SP, 0 RP, 0 hook. Still lots of them reach 90-120 GP. Not as much as it would be when reversed. The thing is SP aren't getting as much IP no matter what. High GP by RP bugs me the most I think now that the starters are around where I want them. No way to balance it out. Will always be over 100 no matter what.

I took my PS4 to gamestop traded it for a PS4 pro. I was playing The Show 17 since Monday night on my 65" 1080 on game mode. Now my PS4 pro is plugged in to my 51" 4K. I'm plugging your sliders in from the get go. Thanks for your time.

Upped AI foul frequency to 1, lowered AI power to 3, and lowered human power to 4 (2 for zone).

Mike: from sims, it seems that 99-stamina equals 200-IP (6-IP per start) for an average season. it used to be 7-IP in the past. I suggest we could up the elite guys to 95-99 to get better production. seems that 80-85 equals 5-IP per start with average season. hope ur well.

I'm not in the business of editing players. This set doesn't do that, so to avoid confusing folks, I'd prefer to keep those discussions out of this thread

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

I have been playing on set based off of yours and very similar so thought id reply with a thought or two. I use zone btw.

                    1) I have been using power at 2 for both CPU and Human and Ive had decent results so far, we both still can hit homers but the frequency has dropped a bit. I would suggest people try it at 2 or even 1, you'll still see plenty of homers.

                    2) To anyone who used to play the show on all-star, i think HOF is the way to go this year, PCI is still bigger than it should be and I'm still getting my hits (I used to struggle at times on all-star in previous installments)

Ive used this set as a base and made some small adjustments here and there and am settling in on a playable set now, so well done.

I believe I have solved the low number of SP innings. This also, as a by product, helps reduce (not completely eliminate) the LR over usage.

Quite simple--use my set, but when simming put SP stamina to 10 for CPU.

I had just under 20 SP w 200 IP, and 2 guys 225-232. For comparison, Kershaw's career high for IP is 236.0.

I didn't see more than 60 guys total w 2 CG or more, and I can live with some random guys getting 1 each year.

Now, I'm wondering if raising AI bullpen stamina would help LRs to not be overused? However, the bullpen IP/G are perfect for the majority of guys.

Anyone using these with Pulse and make any adjustments for that pitching method?

And for Mike: With the Injury slider do you see realistic injurie % in both in-game and simulation with that setting?

Have not used them with pulse. Measure your results and see what you come up with.

As for injuries, you'll see plenty--more than you probably realize happen in MLB.

And for the person down voting 1-star threads again to inflate their own sliders or whatever, please, no one cares. To combat the nonsense, I'll simply request that if you're liking the sliders, please vote accordingly.

My set uses 4 for played games, but 7 for simming. You could also bump it up to 8 during a game once the AI gets into their traditional bulpen.

REALLY enjoying these sliders! A tick too hard for me, which I like...

HOF & these sliders MAY not be for everyone "as is". But, the foundation is in place IMO...

May have to ditch the meter mechanic as BB's just aren't coming for me? ERA's, Hits to IP & K's are in line, though... I'll keep playing.

I think my problem with HOF & your sliders (in the past) is that I haven't been patient enough. You really have to work counts to be rewarded with a drivable pitch...
