Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Using the latest sliders with a few of my own tweaks

    Pitch speed 10 & 10
    Baserunning speed 4
    Power 4

RayS had 5 runs 10 hits 1 error through .
Indians (me) had 2 runs 4 hits 1 error through 8.

Ended up tying it 5-5 in the 9th. (no homeruns either).
Rays took a 6-5 lead in the 10th.

I tied it again in the 10th. (no homeruns, left runners on 1st and 3rd)

Otero gave up a 2 out homerun to longoria in the 11th. Had a guy on in the 11th via error by Tampa with 1 out but couldn't score. Lost 7-6 but the game felt rewarding for the most part.

only 2 issues.... 1st.. 3 errors in the game 2 by them 1 by me. All three were absurd errors... popup to Brantley in center... under it easily for a few seconds.. just hits him in the chest... the other two by rays infield.. soft ground balls.. hits their mit and just drops in front of them...Probably nothing we can do about that.

The other issue.. ive had this for like all my games the past 2 weeks... CPU strike % was 73 and mine was 71....

No, but I have a great setup guy and solid closer.

How many walks? I'm thinking you may be swinging early in the count too often.

Hey Mike, what do you suggest for CPU strike frequency when facing a knuckleballer? I'm thinking 2 or 3?

            Thanks

              Off, but on topic --

You guys were right about the re-build thing... it sucks! Especially when you are playing with these realistic sliders.

The Padres lineup is horrible, but I'm going to stick it out and play all 162, through-and-through.

Thanks for the great sliders, Mike and community!

I haven't tried, and I'd be curious how that works out. Please report back.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

A couple of other things to follow up on, and then a next stream announcement!

                  1) For the replay system, I actually wasn't aware the game has the options actually built-in now. That's cool. I still leave it set to "off" since I can't technically decide what I want to replay, so having "perfect calls" to me simulates just getting it right. Maybe next game I'll try it with perfect calls off to see how the replay system now works.

                  2) For outfield errors, it's the output that's important too. Some may look ridiculous, but really any OF error is sort of ridiculous--they should be making those plays. As a Tigers fan, I've already seen Tyler Collins make some bad plays in the OF that really had no place in MLB (just like he has no place in a MLB CF).

Finally, I'll be streaming my next game, May 16th at home against the Astros, today at 5pm ET. We'll put our 2-game win streak on the line! Come watch and chat!

With "umpire close plays"?TURNED TO ON

There will be moments in gameplay where a close play will happen; the game with que a cutscene with the manager and give you the option to Challenge (Square) or cancel.

So that's what happens; if evidence is compelling enough calls can be corrected. I've had this happen about 10-15 times in my time playing and I've never seen them make the wrong call.

When it is turned off; the umpires are like robotic ; they have the ultimatum. They don't make mistakes to my knowledge. They make the right call 100% of the time.

So really it's just a option For immersion if the ability to challenge blown calls excites you; then the ON option is for you.

If you like precise no mistake umpire calls OFF is your option

I believe every play I've seen has been at first base.

Strike Freq. 3 was ok. Steven Wright still had about 70% strikes. Last year real life he was around 65%. I did some testing after, and realized It's on a predetermined path always around the zone which is ironic. I would say even 90% of the misses are on or very close to the black.
Lowering all the CPU pitching sliders did nothing to fix it, actually made it worse when I went down to 0 on all.

                        Thoughts?

Well then, this is why I will leave it off to simulate replays throughout the game, and not just 1B.

This sucks I'm 15-17 with the Astros and 1-5 in May. But I can't stop playing I use HOF pitching, pitching is my weak point just like the real life Astros
