Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Hey there. Anyone noticed any difference with the patched up manager hook etc.? Can we finally have same sliders for simming and playing?

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

I am getting good results on All Star+ for pitching. So I locked it. But I'm wondering if it's a better idea to maybe keep the slider at 1 so it can slowly adjust to the way I'm playing. The only thing I wouldn't like is having my ace on the mound and he pitches lights out and the dynamic raise up a level and then my other pitchers get lit up. I know that having it at 1 will not raise it that fast in one game. but if you have 2 games where your pitchers are doing good or play a weak offensive team in a series would that alter the results in the future series?

I gotcha. Looking forward to playing more games with these sliders. I'm into the month of May of my franchise using these and I am having a blast. Keep up the good work.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Was a couple months into my first season, I started when the first OSFM set came out. Started at default, jumped to a couple sliders. Either too easy or too many house rules to make them work right. Came across this set.

Loved the difficulty. I'm not exactly sure how (well, it doesn't help nearly every session is a drinking night usually) but I ended up losing like 15 in a row. But the scores got closer, the hit counts started to grow on my end. I looked at the page and saw you had done some new updates, as well as OSFM was up to 2.5 now, so decided to give your sliders a good chance from the beginning.

Restarted the franchise saturday night, and am sitting at 2-3 in the first 5. Manual everything, only big difference is I use analog pitching, and man that can really burn if you miss the angle, timing, anything.

I do #TipsyTigger nights late on tuesday and usually saturday on my channel from about 10pm to 6am ct, starting with whatever sport is hottest in season usually. Lately MLB. http://twitch.tv/therustytigger also has my vods from saturday, however only the last one is really worth watching because I had horrible net disconnection issues last weekend until really late. I'll give a shout out if I start tonight without issues.

Ah any criticism I guess might be on injury %, as on my first season my guys went down like flies after I switched sliders, but that hasn't happened on my restart yet. Might have been something flukey with that first run. I also use fielding throwing meter but thinking of turning that off, gets a bit out of hand after a few drinks. Also something different I do, to help get through seasons, is once I'm over .500, if I win I then simulate all my games until the simulation loses, then I take over. Only difference is with MLB I've been stopping to do critical situations. Not really up to changing the sliders every time I do this so I've just set them and forget them, hoping that doesn't bite too hard later on.

          Thanks for this set man!

I need some help guys. These are the CPU offense the last 4 games. I am at All Star+ on pitching. But I think I might have to go to Hall of Fame. They had a .153 BABIP the last 4 games. But the last 2 games really killed that. I don't know if I should move to Hall of Fame or bump a slider. I'm concerned about the last 2 games on how they only pretty much hit homeruns. I don't want to move to Hall of Fame and just have them hit more HR. Or should I just let it ride and stay put? The first 3 games were against the Tigers and the last game was against the Blue Jays. I'm the Pirates.

                  Game 1 (won 5-1): 6/32 .187 avg, 12 K's, 1 HR, BABIP .263
                  Game 2 (loss 2-1): 9/46 .196 avg, 13 K's, 0 HR, BABIP .273
                  Game 3 (loss 4-2): 3/26 .115 avg, 6 K's, 2 HR, BABIP .056
                  Game 4 (won 5-4 in 15 innings): 4/50 .080 avg, 17 K's, 3 HR, BABIP .033

No, as the patch did not influence simmed games. I'm still finding hook at 2 until the starter is out and it's beyond the 5th inning is best. Then at that point, you change hook to 7.

Pardon my ignorance. What should the manager hook be when siming the CPU games? 2 or 7?

I have a question about using these in quick manage mode. Should I have the sliders set for sim or game play when i do a quick manage game?

                            Thanks!

Have it at 7 when simulating and when AI is using bullpen beyond 5th inning.
