Occasionally i have. I use OSFM for now, but occasionally i will change key players who are performing much differently. But there is a temptation to only make good players better, and leave players who are underperforming in real life alone. Nobody wants to make good players worse lol. (Especially if they are on your team) But if you are willing to do both i say go for it.

I also sometimes leave it all up to the universe im playing in. That is fun too. So i say just do what gives you the most enjoyment.

I usually do a few guys who I feel are getting played out with their ratings. Like Cespedes. He has all 99 in hitting. Kidding. Seriously, I try to keep it minimal. I feel dirty doing it sometimes. Nothing higher than +10. I just naturally got +3 against LHP with Rosario. He then got hurt diving back to first, for no reason, on a ball in the dirt. Only a 10 dayer...

Yeah I just do it every once in a while. Like I upgraded ozzie albes because his power numbers are so much better than the rosters out of the box.

He deserves it. That boy is a studd. If only you could have read the group chat on him with my fantasy league. He's created so many side bets. I did the same with Dominic Smith. I bumped him up a bit. Did the same to Conforto last year against lefties...

            Depends.

Why do you strike out so infrequently? Are you just an aggressive early-in-the-count hitter? Guys like that with decent contact skill won't strike out too much because they don't get to two strikes. You can't get strike three if you don't get strike two.

Just like you can't get ball four until you get ball three.

What is your approach to the plate? Contact at all costs with 2 strikes? You'll probably not K much. Contact swings, down influence, tending late with your swings - all these things can increase contact rate.

So, a lot of what happens with BB and K rates depends on what happens before 3 balls or 2 strikes...and whether or not counts get there.

What is your roster like? Do you favor Vision when you build a roster? Do you like hitters that are heavy into Contact and/or Vision.

The stats being far off the norm, even for a leader, is a flag to look, not necessarily to change. It's a "hey this might be kinda strange, you might want to take a look", not "change now or bad sliders".

Whether or not to change depends on a lot of other factors.

Frequently, especially for largely unknown players like prospects, guys who missed significant time, guys like Ohtani who are both prospects and foreign so "double mystery" on them.

Every so often, I'll check for scouting reports or use the grades on fangraphs in a pinch, and use their production as a guide.

I'll only do this for about the first month or so of year one in the franchise. After that, they are "mine" and subject to whatever whims and production they produce.

After year one, it becomes more about what the player is doing using TheWarmWind's rules for editing he posted in the main forum, and that's more minor tweaking + what my franchise is doing more than IRL.

I also suspend players that get suspended in real life, like Cano. I don't try to follow anything else from real life. Those are the only manual injuries i do during the season. It adds a little wild card in there that is not in the game.

I let it all ride. I added guys to the 40 man for each team before I started my fracnhise. I added the guys I would add if I were controlling the teams. Helped me balance out organizations with call ups if guys went down. No one is injured, or nothing. I try to do as little policing as possible and have it be it's own wild world...

Decided to let Marwin Gonzalez test FA and to replace him in LF I’ve managed to sign one of your favourite players, AJ Pollock.

Hector Rondon has followed AJ Hinch to Texas to become their closer after his asking price was more than I was willing to pay and couldn’t promise him the closer role he wanted.

Here are some other big FA signings around the league so far:

                    Paul Goldschmidt to Cards
                    Matt Harvey to Dodgers
                    Jeurys Familia to Pirates
                    Zach Britton to Indians
                    Andrew Miller to Red Sox
                    Kelvin Herrera to Nationals
                    Carlos Carrasco to Marlins
                    David Robertson to Cards
                    Cody Allen to Mets
                    Bryce Harper to D’backs - 9yrs $279m!

                    And one big Re-signing:
Manny Machado stays in Baltimore for 6yrs $179m

Here are the notable FA signings from the rest of the offseason:

                    DJ Lemahieu to Angels
                    Cole Hamels to Indians
                    Marwin Gonzalez to Angels
                    Brian Dozier to Blue Jays
Collin McHugh to Rangers (another one following AJ Hinch to Texas)
                    Melky Cabrera to Indians

You actually described my approach at the plate almost perfectly. I'm a very aggressive early count hitter, I have a "contact at all costs" approach with two strikes and only use contact swings in pitchers' counts, and I do tend to swing pretty late on a decent number of pitches. I never really thought about these factors until I read your comment, so thank you for the input. I'm going to stop using the contact swing for a few games and see how that goes.

Nothing wrong with using contact swing in 0-2 and 1-2 counts. Beyond that I never use it.

Also take more pitches. Develop more plate discipline. One pitch, one spot on hitters counts. Otherwise you will ever strike out.

I usually use contact swing for moving runners with two strikes, getting leadoff-type runners on base with 2 strikes, etc, which is still fairly often most games. Even with contact swing i strike out though. Against really tough pitchers i protect more. Chris Sale struck me out 18 times last night. I only had 2 hits against him and they both came back to back in the 7th. He was dominant, and even trying to be patient I couldnt figure him out. I actually won that game 2-1.

I have had a great variety of games and feel like this has been the most enjoyable season I’ve played in past years. For example, I have had games where I won 1-0, games I won 4-3, and a game where I actually lost 20-0 against the Astros powerful lineup (oh what a game that was...).

My issue however is overall rankings. On games where I have a good time hitting, I’m hitting TOO good. Here are my hitting rankings at the end of April:

                            AVG: 3rd with .285 (leader has .292)
                            AB: 1st with 1059 (next has 993)
                            Runs: 3rd with 146 (leader has 157)
                            Hits: 1st with 302 (next has 284)
                            Doubles: 1st with 61 (next has 59)
                            Triples: 3rd with 10 (leader has 14)
                            HR: 2nd with 42 (leader has 46)
                            RBI: 3rd with 144 (leader has 157)
                            Strikeouts: 1st with 123 (next has 170)

My biggest concerns are AVG, hits, doubles, HR, and strikeouts. Being the Chicago White Sox, I shouldn’t be close to those numbers. I am 17-12 at the end of April, which is really not concerning numbers to me at all as I’m riding a 7 game winning streak straight after having a 5 game losing streak. I just need to figure out how to even out the numbers a bit.

I play on All-Star for both hitting and pitching. Would it benefit me more by toning down maybe Contact and Power, or even Solid Hits more? Or should I make the jump to HoF for the first time in my MLB The Show career?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
I have finished the month of May now, and played the entire month using HoF as opposed to All-Star. Here are my results as of June 1st:

                            White Sox (32-25)

                            AVG: 2nd with .280 (leader has .283)
                            AB: 8th with 2008 (leader has 2037)
                            Runs: 5th with 275 (leader has 314)
                            Hits: 1st with 562 (next has 561)
                            Doubles: 5th with 102 (leader has 117)
                            Triples: 3rd with 17 (leader has 23)
                            HR: 4th with 80 (leader has 91)
                            RBI: 5th with 271 (leader has 311)
                            Strikeouts: 1st with 301 (next has 350)

These numbers are definitely a lot better than I was seeing throughout April when I was using All-Star. Batting average still concerns me, as with a team like the Sox, I shouldn’t be hitting as well as I do. But I mean it would also be pretty boring to be playing a video game and not getting any hits, regardless of the team I play with. I’m glad to see my ranking going down in HR and doubles, and while I’m still 1st with the least amount of strikeouts, I went from 123 in April to 301 in total after May. Definitely evening out a bit.

As long as the games feel competitive to you I wouldn't worry about the offensive stats being a little hi. I think most of us on here have a little higher offensive stats than we should. But like you I'm about 6 games over 500 and have great variety of games.
