So for example. If I decide to give Fastball a go at 5 I will move my change-up slider speed to 6.

If you feel you need to move down to fastball 4 then have change-up at 5.

I am totally locked in though with everything else and I love injuries at 9 (actual played games) and 6 (for simulated/quick manage games).

The Yankees pounded the Rangers BTW in game 1 of their 3 game set to give the Bombers 7 straight wins (6 straight now on this 8 game road trip). We are simply in the zone folks. And it feels gooooooooood!

Game 2 tonight. And I am also going to start mixing in some other franchise files like:

The Quest For Donny Baseball 1987 Yankees Year 3
The Matheny Manifesto A Cardinals Fantasy Franchise Year 3
    1997 Marlins Season Replay
    1992 Braves Franchise Year 1
Fictional Indians Year 1(Bacon's Roster with my added movie players from MLB 17)
1990-2007 Fantasy Draft Franchise Juniors Giants (using the 1990-2007 roster created by JSmith on 17) I have a very cool team I drafted with this one. Griffey Jr, A young marlins era Miggy, a Prime Seattle era Ichiro and Cal Ripken Jr to name a few.

So yeah....I have so much baseball to play and loving every single minute of it!!!!
You’re right about the off speed change. I usually do that but for some reason haven’t yet. I’m going to make that change tonight.

If more of us "sim" players just focused more on "sim GAMEPLAY" instead of sim stats then we all would be better off...If I am enjoying the gameplay, most times the stats will follow and if not, then it's my video game universe...I just want to enjoy myself when I have down time to dive into my ps4 and this setup gives me just that. A good competitive challenge that doesn't make me want to throw my controller through the tv lol[emoji38][emoji818][emoji817]

This isn't realistic, as this could never happen...the Rangers clearly have a much better team than the Yankees

Well that is what I have always focused on in my slider sets.

It's all about the simulation gameplay!!!! Play the game sim and amazing results and fantastic fun is waiting to be had.

Not the reverse. The stat chasing is a bad rabbit hole to go down and will destroy your enjoyment of "Sports Video Games".

FWIW man, I think I alluded to this on your stream last night, but I almost always run with the pitch speed one notch lower than you....I'm now even with you at 4 and am doing well. If past history holds for the present, you should definitely consider going up a notch.

Thanks Armor! What’s the goal of the offset? I’m thinking it would make hitting a touch easier by decreasing the speed differential between off speed pitches and fast balls. Am I off on that?

You are not that far off on that. But the problem is the pitch edits from SDS are not the greatest (not bad but not the greatest) and I find the speed differential from a fastball to a change up on most pitchers to be too dramatic. I am talking from 97 to 85....that is a huge drop. Even the difference between 87MPH to 85MPH is huge when talking about a change up. Typically you see a 6-8 MPH change between a major league fastball and then an off-speed pitch/breaking ball etc. Some guys throw very hard sliders, some don't.

So I try to replicate as true a speed difference in the sliders vs doing mass pitch edits (I leave that to the roster guys doing the hybrid rosters). I love the hybrid pitch edits...but then I don't agree with the massive ratings changes they make to a lot of players.

My ultimate preference for an OSFM roster is pitch edits but no players rating edits (I like to make my own player rating edits as I see fit). The pitch edits are really amazing.

Anyway....that's the story with the off-set. And trust me...it feels more realistic and not as "cheap" for lack of a better term.

Game 2 saw the Dodgers win 5-4 to even the series.

Fiers had early struggles on the mound for the Astros. LA went up 4-0 after 2. Marwin Gonzalez got the Astros back into it with a 3 run shot in the 5th. Both teams scored a run in the 8th (Astros had the bases loaded with no outs but could only get 1 run). Jansen then closed it out in the 9th for the Dodgers.

Game 3 will be live in a few minutes.

I've been using 5/6 and I still find that I am raking and not striking out enough. As a team I'm at 17.38% through 15 games. I just simply don't ever feel overwhelmed by fastballs (especially the 97+ ones). Going to try out 6/7.

I also seem to be seeing way too many extra base hits and contact from the CPU. They are slugging over .600 off me at the moment. I almost thought about lowering contact to 4, but I don't know if they will lose that explosive punch for when I miss my marks pitching. Any suggestions?

I play as the White Sox, so my expectations are that I should be struggling with most of my players (and pitching is beyond stressful), but something still doesn't feel quite right.

Do you play every pitch, every inning and how many games have you played so far in your franchise?

Are you using the exact settings I use on the OP?

It is very hard for me to make broad based suggestions without knowing how you play the game. Gotta be honest folks.

Anyway answer those questions first for me.

It is very hard for me to make broad based suggestions without knowing how you play the game. Gotta be honest folks.

Anyway answer those questions first for me.

I’m digging 5/6 right now. Striking out a lot more and my hitting is still good. There’s no way I’ll ever go back to 4/5. Love the challenge and the most importantly the gameplay seems fair.
