Haha no worries man, we've all been there with photos on this forum.

Personally I would say your offensive numbers are a little high, but if you're having fun roll, roll, roll on man!

They are a little but my pitching is so bad that I need them. They were a little inflated by hitting on allstar for the first month.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Question to anyone who knows, if I wanted to get a little more out of my offense, would I use solid hits or contact? I feel solid hits would give me more offense without sacrificing Ks and missed swings. I could drop timing down to counteract the solid hits. To nerf the AI offense, would dropping contact help in that regard? They seem to be on every mistake I make. A majority of them are made in the zone. I can't seem to work outside the zone effectively. I tried bumping consistency up one for human to stop all of my wild pitches. I hope this made sense...

Are you using the sliders exactly as they are on the OP?

If you're using the OP set, this is what I would suggest:

                  • To boost user offense, raising solid hits to 5 should work. But really, if you use the directional influence and wait for your pitches well, this shouldn't be needed.
                  • To decrease CPU offense, raise user pitch control to 5 (note: I've been using this tweak personally....ironically, I am pondering dropping this back to Armor's setting of 4). Many of the issues you are having, I have seen at 4 myself...pitch control at 5 really reigns it in. However, I do feel like it nerfs the variety of results, which is why I am going to go back to it at 4.

I always end back to 5 human pitch control because at 4 I have a hard time getting ks and swings and misses. I like the challenge of 4 but it annoys me to no end the cpu batters making contact on all my pitches. It’s the only change I have to the OP sliders

Kind of, but not. I was, but the offense on both sides wasn't feeling right. That's why I'm asking for the input. The adjustments are only a tick here or there...

That's the thing, I was getting my pitches. They were just all awful contact. I know I'm the Mets, and they suck, but they were just too weak. I had control at 5, and walked guys fine. I go between 4 and 5 depending on the wild pitches I'm seeing. It's just that an abnormal amount of balls were missing over the plate. If it was even the slightest mistake, it was blasted. I've dropped CPU contact down to 4. I've only done a few test games, but it's close to what I would like to see. More of a human-like batter with the AI. I'm trying to get a bad pitcher to stand out from a quality arm, and the same at the plate. It's a matter of me getting more punch, which I think solid hits at 5 is showing promise. With the AI a little less perfect. I was able to generate Ks my last game with deGrom against a depleted Philly lineup. Hoskins did damage, but the rest of the schlubs played like schlubs. I'm with you on going back to 4 with human control. 5 gave me more control, but something was off. I've played around with consistency at 6 to cut back on the wild pitches. I was spiking all of my breaking balls, while hanging all of my changeups, Pitcher didn't matter. That should cover all of what I'm trying to do hahaha

                              Game 7. Dodgers win 8-2 [emoji17]

Things just didn’t go the Astros way in this one.

They loaded the bases against Ryu in the 2nd but only managed to score 1 run.

Jose Quintana then had to leave with an injury (wrist) after just 1.1 innings.

LA tied it in the 3rd before Adrian Gonzalez, in what may be his last game as a Dodger) turned back the clock to take the game away from the Astros.

He hit two 2 run HRs (0-2 count in 4th and 1-2 count in 6th) both off Colin McHugh (who with this outing sealed his fate of not being resigned next year lol).

Houston’s bats were kept pretty quiet and Grandal added insult to injury with a 3 run blast in the 8th to make it 8-1.

The Astros got a consolation run in the 9th and unfortunately they fell 1 win short in their quest to repeat.

Jonathan Villar won the WS MVP. The lead off guy for LA was a lightning bolt all series getting on base, stealing and driving in runs. The Dodgers acquired him in a trade mid season so that move definitely paid off.

One early note for the offseason ahead of Year 3 (2019) is that AJ Hinch who’s contract was up has reportedly turned down a 3yr extension with Houston and will become the manager of AL West and state rival Texas!
