I want to use your slider base and substitute Pulse from time to time. Im thinking maybe just lower Hum Consistency by 1 or something like that?

Just curious what you would do, (or anyone else here) from a slider adjustment standpoint, if someone wanted to use Pulse. Something about watching that flashing circle hits my happy spot.

I have never ever played with pulse. I really did not like the visual at all.

I would start at default and work from there.

I’ve got a Yankees franchise and a Rockies franchise going. It’s my universe so I do t allow trading in these franchises as I want to play with to close to the same lineups IRL. Now I’m looking to start a 3rd franchise that will allow trading.

      I’m looking for:

      - a team that is subpar or rebuilding
      - nice ballpark
      - that has decent power (like my homers)

      Miami??
      Yankees modern day
      Phillies modern day

To just play a couple teams for fun...

In the AL - the White Sox. They have some nice players and I love that ballpark (even as an Indians fan).

In the NL - the Reds. Cincinnati has a horrendous starting staff (for the most part) but some nice pieces and a solid back-end bullpen.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Through August 20 in my franchise I'm 83-42 but only 2.5 games ahead of Boston.

I was once on pace to win like 130 games or something which was ridiculous, but as always, things are reverting closer to the mean. Here's my record by month:

          March/April: 22-8
          May: 22-4
          June: 14-11
          July: 14-11
          August (so far): 10-8

So thing are definitely becoming more normal, although I'm still on pace to shatter the single season team HR record.. I was on pace for over 350 in the beginning of the year but again with the reversion towards the average (I say "towards", not "to" the average, because I'll still finish decently above it.) Probably will push the 300 number and possibly more. I'd like to stay under 300 for realistic purposes, but whatever happens happens.

Current top 5 HR totals are
          Stanton 54
          Sanchez 40
          Judge 38
          Andujar 22
          Gregorius 20

          Team total is 250

I would start at legend pitching. Anything lower and it's way too easy to just pound the strike zone and get outs all day. You can lower certain aspects with sliders if you find it too hard, but that would be a good place to start.

The pouty face is because I have pulse sliders.

I will be finishing Year 2 of the 2017 Yankees by next week. My plan is to focus on finishing the post season (currently up in the ALCS 3-1 over the Indians).

Then as previously stated finishing year 3 of The Matheny Manifesto then on to a classic season replay TBD.

Anybody playing a Reds franchise? I’m looking for an NL team that are not considered a playoff contender. I have a Yankees franchise that I assume will give me shot at the World Series. But now I want to test something - can you win with ANY team based on user’s skill (using real life rosters), or do teams like the Reds struggle in this game as they do IRL, whether you play as them or not? Can I win the World Series with the Reds using hybrid roster?

I don’t allow trades in my franchises as I want to play with rosters as close to real life as possible. But will sign free agents at end of year

The way Armors sliders are built, it places greater importance on ratings/sim. Considering that, it is quite difficult to be successful with lower rated teams/players. This is the only way I've ever played. But, I'm guessing if you used options that place greater importance on user input (meter pitching, etc), then you could be more successful as ratings aren't nearly as important.

BTW, you're a brave man to consider using the Reds with our hybrid roster...whew, they're brutal.

You'll probably be able to hit well with the Reds(especially versus righties) but pitching will be brutal. The rotation has no depth after Castillo (who himself is shaky at times) and the bullpen is not great either. Oh, and defensively....they're pretty iffy at most positions too. It won't be easy....

(All this coming from a Reds fan btw...)

Yeah. If you have a weak pitching staff and use my exact settings and user interface (Classic pitching and directional hitting) you will get lit up and lose like you should with the Reds.

Weak hitting teams will also be just that.

Just wanted to say props to Armor!! This is by far the best sports game going, glad I made switch to ps4. Still going AS pitching and batting with OP sliders and quick counts. love it!! I restarted franchise with OSFM latest roster to get Braves more of how they are in real life, Competitive. Quick counts allows me to get many games in. So I can do my franchise play sim play sim. Cannot wait to see how season goes.
