Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '18 Sliders

Had a nice stream last night where I showed how the played games stats hold up over my now 130 games played in my franchise. I also played the first half of the Marlins @ Nationals game which I will be streaming the conclusion of tonight.

If you subscribe to the YouTube channel (and/or Twitter), it will ping you when I go live.

As for the roster errors...can't you just edit the roster in franchise? Personally, I'm waiting for a OSFM roster that's been edited to have:

      Real contracts
      40 man rosters
      3 CLs for each team

I haven't seen one yet in the Vault.
Waiting on the exact same thing before I get my Cardinals franchise off the ground. Great stream last night, Mike! Look forward to watching the conclusion tonight!

I’m 11 games into my franchise with these sliders. All my stats seem to be in line with my team’s strengths and weaknesses. I play as the Pirates.

One problem I’m having is stolen bases. Cervelli has thrown out every runner except for Billy Hamilton once. And I’m 1/6 in attempts myself. I know this causes difficulty every year, but any tips/suggestions I should know about? I hate taking even the one step of additional lead too because I get picked off a lot and don’t see a way to prevent it. The User Timing jump where you hold L2 still has such a long delay again as well.

Other than that I’m very pleased. Great work as always.

I keep steal attempts very simple. I never take a big lead (or very rarely ever do), and all I do is just hit L2. I also try and think about when it's more likely I'll see a breaking ball. I also am watching delivery time (I don't clock it or anything lol), and who the catcher is. To me, I won't get sneaky unless I really see an advantage, like a guy throwing a ton of breaking balls from the windup, etc.

I have those sliders at default, so I'd just keep practicing on your situationals.

Yep that’s basically my thought process too. I’ve had to make myself not go back to the bag when I see that slide step lol. But yes I pick my spots carefully and only steal with 1 guy(Starling Marte) or maybe a guy with 60+ speed and a good opportunity.

I still think it’s weird I’m throwing so many guys out though. I’m pretty sure Cervelli has thrown out everyone and the one Billy Hamilton steal cane against my backup, though it wouldn’t have mattered. I hold guys on closely unless I’m really into the next pitch, but I hardly ever slide step because I suck at it.

Thank you very much for these sliders Mr. Lowe. Unfortunately, I do not have the skill set to hit on Legend and I have dropped your set to HOF for me, but OMG this has to be the best baseball simulation ever! As the Yanks I am sitting at 7-8 with great variations in scores and pitching. What I love the most is how real the pitching outcomes are in this set. I have pitched gems (with actual effort involved) and have been rocked hard (Severino, 0-1 4.74 ERA and 12 Ks in 16 innings). Even my relievers give up runs (didn't know that was ever possible?). My only gripe (and its not really a gripe at all) is that it seems like only my star hitters hit. Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez are all sitting around .350 to .390 and all have excellent HRs and RBI (Judge is at 7 homers and 17 RBI), whereas the rest of my lineup is struggling to stay above the Mendoza line. Anyways, thanks again, this is the best version of MLB the Show ever!

We took game 2 at Toronto. Down 1-0 at the start of the 8th inning, Judge & Stanton hit back-to-back solo HR to put the Yankees ahead, 2-1. What a match, again ! Like the first match, it was a pitcher battle.
