The good thing is this is such a small sample, anything could happen. If only 3 of those doubles had been singles, i would be at 20.7% and 1.7 per game, which is exactly where the Rangers have been. So actually it is not even a concern as of right now.

Pitching and CPU hitting is still up in the air, because i had an inordinate amount of games with inflated numbers, so it will definitely take more games to see where the numbers start settling. The games i have played where that didnt happen felt very realistic.

I was waiting for you to touch base on the pitching because I’m losing my mind between 0 and 1 slider cpu timing lol. I have Cleveland pitching staff with hybrid rosters. Kluber is a 99 carrasco 96 Bauer 86 or so and clevinger and Salazar are both around 81 overall and I’m still getting tagged for around 265 average against me.

Im experimenting also with pitching. Fenway is getting better results so far, so i may just be in a pitching slump, coupled with bad pitchers. I think Fenway's CPU offensive stats look pretty great. I just cant seem to stop the CPU with regularity. It could be that im using analog with these (and had to turn consistency down even more so that i get a little more off-target pitches) . But i dont think it would make that big of a difference.

I am also using OSFM instead of Hybrid, for whatever thats worth.

I have made several fairly significant adjustments to these sliders, on another franchise, and had really good results, but im hesitant to post them because Fenway's clearly get great results as we can tell by the spreadsheet. Again, the difference may very well be because i am on analog with lowered consistency - or not...

That being said, i will say that 'one' of the adjustments i made was to turn CPU timing down to 0. They still hit for average and power, and i still have to work to get K's at a realistic rate. So far its working for me.

Toronto took two of 3 from me. They give me problems every year lol. They hit 7 HR in 3 games. Their power is just unavoidable. Thats baseball though. All 3 games have been a blast though and very realistic.

Angels are next! I need to win this series for a change.

            Happy 4th!

Jumped back in for a couple last night. I have been swept up in World Cup lately and it takes up approximately 180 minutes of my free time each day (plus penalty time).

The second game against San Fran my offense finally broke out and I ended up winning in 10 innings off of back-to-back solo shots. A fitting end to a crazy game where the CPU JUST...WON’T...STOP. I hate them.

My pitching stats have show more attack the last handful of games, as my overall and first pitch percentages have risen and my walks allowed have dropped. I am not sure if this is attributed to the gaming monitor or whether I am just pitching more to contact, but it just feels like my pitchers are more in a groove lately (minus the last game).

Hitting is still strange. I have to sit on the ball just a smidge longer that in the past because I am early on almost everything. It is coming around though.

One weird anomoly lately is that my hits up the middle are virtually absent. Not sure if something has changed but I used to get solid hits up the middle quite often. Now when I hit right up the middle lately it rarely gets past 2b. Any thoughts on what might cause this?

I can't imagine what would suddenly cause an absence of hits up the middle, other than if your timing being early a lot is affecting this, maybe causing slightly weaker hits up the middle? Are you early on fastballs too? I imagine the more you play on that monitor the more your timing will gravitate back to normal, if this is even a timing issue at all.

The only other variable would be the patch i guess, but i haven't heard of the patch affecting anything like that.

It may just be one of those weird baseball things that happen. I went through a stretch where every fly ball that didn't leave the yard was caught for an out. My fly ball batting average was very low. Then, in the last week, i have had lucky fly balls landing all over the place, that outfielders and infielders just can't get to. Had i changed anything, or downloaded a patch, i would immediately think that was somehow causing it. But everything is exactly the same. Just one of those quirky baseball things.

Huh. I decided to head into batting practice for a few minutes (I miss the old one) and one a whim I switched my camera from Mlb the show 2015 to 2016. I zoomed it in to be more like 2015 but it also has a very slight offset. I took around 20 pitches and my timing with either good or just slightly off. That tiny adjustment may help me time the ball better. I’ll try it on my next game.

I just played 2 games vs the Yankees and they were both absolute slugfests. I surprisingly won both. Last game I had 5 homeruns and they had 4. Won 12-10. I made it through the month of May with 4 of my 5 starters with ERAs under 3.00 so this was kind of cool to see

Finished up a series against the relentless San Francisco Giants. Musgrove was not fooling anybody with his pitches and I had to fight off rally after rally to take this one.

First game with the new hitting cam and it appears to have worked as the singles up the middle have returned and so has my timing. Such a little thing.

Everybody must be way better at meter than me bc I eventually put my pitching sliders to 5 and 5 and I’m getting realistic walks and strike ratio with that. I couldn’t imagine going lower I’d get rocked. My pitching is struggling all the sudden as is. Gave up 10+ on 2 of the last 3! Kluber pitches next for me so hoping he changes that

Yeah, I am getting pretty frustrated with the CPU as well. I just don’t really know if the highest difficulty levels can ever truly play fair. They just seem to go on inexplicable runs at the most convenient times. It is pretty maddening.

I think I have used meter pitching for pretty much as long as I can remember, so it is pretty second nature to me at this point. I like how you can really control how a pitch acts depending on how much velocity you charge and where you release the pitch point.

Honestly though, I don’t really feel the pitching interface matters all too much. You should use what you feel comfortable with. Dominate the CPU and don’t feel bad about it! When you see their pitcher hitting better than your star hitter you won’t feel so bad!

So I dove into the spreadsheet a bit and ran some averages on my season, the CPU batting average is right up there with the real-life league-leading Boston Red Sox. The hits per game is actually higher than that Boston team.

I could t imagine needing to drop CPU contact down to 2...but maybe?

Crazy you brought this up, but this is exactly what i was going to try tonight, and was having the same reservations about having CPU contact at 2. It wont hurt to try. My main issue currently is too many hits, and the fact that the CPU makes contact agaisnt me 83% of the time. Im trying it tonight.

Sounds good. I will set it also and we can compare notes. I will notate in the spreadsheet and run it through game 60. With any luck I may actually get a win streak going? I don’t think the Legend CPU would allow that though.
