Glad it's not just me. I just won my last game but 2-1 and the runs didn't come until the top of the 9th. Once again everything felt weak. Knocked in the 2 runs with a power swing that was basically a blooper to center.

This game was just as bad as my last 12 games. I had only 4 hits in the 11 inning game and had one run until the 3 run walk off. I love this game so much and I hate complaining but it feels like I'm playing a totally different game than most of you. There are a few others feeling the way I am.

Oh well i got the win and maybe that will get my bats started.

I'm definitely feeling the way you are. I don't know how he exact number but I've probably played 100 plus games since I got the game and I've lost way more than I've won. I've restarted my franchise 3 times during that time. I can pitch great. I lead the league in ERA on HOF. My only major problem is hitting. The only time I felt really good about hitting was when I upped the difficulty to HOF for the first time before the last patch. I wasn't hitting spectacular or anything, but it was noticeable improved. Then the patch hit and hitting is terrible. Meanwhile Armor lowers a couple sliders that would conceivably make it even worse for me. Are some of you that much better then those of us struggling? Is it maybe my team (Rays)? Any other game I would have likely quit playing by now considering how much trouble I'm having to even eek out wins.

Use the exact settings but lower your difficulty to all star. At least let it build up your confidence. Your lower pitch speed.

Well I was 16-5 before my 3-9 record in my last 12. So I think I was due for a cold streak that's just baseball. But this cold streak has been the worst I've had in a while. But bottom line is I scored 4 runs tonight in my win so maybe it's time for me to break out. My team is to good to be cold for to much longer.

I had the same issue on All-star. It only got better when I changed to HOF but since the patch I went back to struggling.

Currently rolling with contact at 5, power at 6, timing at 5, solid hits at 4 for both human and CPU. Last game I won 7-6 against the Blue Jays. Had a good variety of hits and saw 3 HR’s between both of us. I had some issues pre-patch with HR’s hard to come by on both sides so I’m reluctant to drop power back to default.

I believe so. I’m no expert, but I believe directional hitting relies the most on player ratings than the other hitting options. I play as the Yankees so that definitely plays a factor as well. But I’m a 55 year old fan of this game and I’ve always followed Armour’s exact sliders and just press x to hit. That’s it. And the same for pitching - I listen to the catcher 99% of the time and press x. I’ve always loved the realism I feel when I play this way and eliminates “the noise”

I played my last game without ever pushing in a direction and I couldn't really tell a difference. I won 2-1, but the low scoring and weak hitting continued. The Yankees certainly have more pop in their lineup than my Rays so I'm sure that's part of it.

I never use the direction input when batting, except maybe in a sacrifice fly situation when I hold up on the stick every swing. I also let my catcher call the game and I'll shrug him off on about 5-7% of my pitches, usually in high leverage moments.

I do however swear by using the different swing types. I've kept many an at-bat alive using contact swings on borderline/boundary pitches just waiting to unload on a mistake over the plate on the 9th pitch of the AB. Also, low power guys with high speed ratings tend to leg out far more infield hits with contact swings dribbling toward the infield instead of the hard ground outs you mostly get with a normal swing.

And nothing feels more rewarding than waiting for that hanging curveball coming in over the heart of the plate and using the power swing with your strongest slugger to send it out of the ballpark. I rarely use the power swing, but slow meatballs over the plate leave enough reaction time for me to use it once or twice a game.

I use all the swing types. Contact when behind in the count, and either normal or power when ahead. Problem has been they all are resulting in weak hits. Especially with runners on.

My swing and miss percentage is around 40% but my strikeouts are where they should be. Maybe a little high but it is good enough for me. But I would like to get my swing and miss rate down. I’m early on these hanging sliders. So I raised offspeed pitch by one and now am at 5/6. But I feel like I’m cheating to make it easier.

I would like the CPU to get more extra base hits. Any suggestions?

My 2 cents....raise your contact 1 and lower your pitcher control 1

Exactly. Even Armor will attest to the fact that nobody plays the game the same way or with the same set of skills across the board. His base set is currently perfect for his exact gameplay, and if you are like-minded in your approach to simulation gameplay then using his set and tweaking it to your liking is exactly why these sliders exist.
