So the Jays had real interest in Jake Odorizzi in free agency but didn't fork out at the end of the day , and now there's some chatter about Hyun -Jin Ryu . I have 0 confidence in Atkins and what the Jays organization says anymore , but this is exactly what the Jays need in real life and what I need in my Franchise . I truly hope there's some truth to this and they act before it's too late , but for the time being I will be making the move for Ryu in my Franchise . I have no lefty in my starting 5 and Ryu is exactly what I need , even tho he is slowly on the decline he is still 86 rated and will become my number 1 ace that I need . I had to deal 84 rated Aaron Sanchez and a (B) prospect , so Ryu isn't a huge upgrade on Sanchez but I'm happy to get the deal done . The Dodgers still get a solid pitcher in return and a prospect so I think it's a fair enough trade overall .

It does sound fair. Sometimes we need to make deals like this to keep things fresh especially after year one of a franchise.

Yeah I really thought so , Sanchez is I think 5 or 6 years younger than Ryu and still getting better meanwhile Ryu is on the decline . It the long run I'm the loser of this trade if anything . I also brought back Aledmys Diaz before the I started the 2nd season , Houston wasn't using him and they sent him down to triple a so I brought him back . And he is having a great season so far

The one thing that's really poorly done is the schedule , pretty sure that I'm playing the exact same games and teams in the same order as I did in the 1st season . The jays in real life play the Reds and Phillies in March/ April in the upcoming season , and in June we got the Pirates and Cardinals but I'm just constantly playing the same teams over n over . Kinda sick of playing Baltimore , Tampa and the Yankees each day . I want to play those interleague games so badly , very disappointing to see this . Onto other news , Ryu has made his first 2 starts for the Jays and he is just so much fun to pitch with . 1st game he pitched 7 full innings giving up only 1 run on 5 hits , and 2nd start he went 6 full giving up 3 runs on 8 hits . Not too shabby

My season series with the Mets is now finished. Thank God. We went 10-9 against the Mets in 2019, but they were all tough games all thanks to Michael Conforto. He absolutely killed me the entire season. Check out his line against me this year.

25 for 69 (.326) with 14 runs scored, 3 doubles, 8 home runs, 17 RBI, 7 walks and 18 strikeouts.

Talk about killing a team.

I just had one of my best wins of the season. Playing the second game of a 4 game series at home against the Braves. I had lost 2 in a row entering this game and it was looking like 3 in a row was on the horizon.

Aaron Nola was on the hill for me and was sharp early on but ended up allowing 8 hits and 5 runs in 6 2/3 innings. The offense gave Nola zero run support. Kevin Gausman pitched for the Braves and was lights out for most of the game. He was pitching shutout baseball with 10 strikeouts into the 7th inning when we finally got to him for 2 runs on a 2-run double by Cesar Hernandez. Then we scored 4 runs with 2 outs against the Braves bullpen in the 8th to take a 6-5 lead! Here's how the 8th inning went down.

Definitely a great win and hopefully a momentum builder as we wind down the season. David Robertson locked down his 36th save on the season. We lost Neil Walker for 1-2 weeks with a strained pectoral during the game so his season is most likely finished unfortunately. I may look to re-sign him for the bench in 2020. Phil Gosselin has been recalled to take his place on the roster. LHP Austin Davis was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

We are 74-71, 6 1/2 games back in the NL East with 17 to play. Gotta keep pace with the 4 game series with the Nationals coming up soon. That will be a HUGE series.

You still have a shot. That's a nice win. Games like that can be really fun. I just blew a game down 3-2 in the 8th where I had the game tied on a sac fly but I stupidly left 3rd too early and was doubled off never to have another opportunity to score after that.

The game prior I lost by one and was thrown out at home twice by Bryce Harper.

After losing game 3 of the 4 game series with the Braves, the Phillies took game 4 on a walk-off 2-run home run by Maikel Franco! His second homer of the game!

We were up 3-0 early in this one, but the Braves scored 3 in the 4th and 5th innings to tie it on a home run from Ronald Acuna Jr. and an Ender Inciarte groundout. We took the lead in the bottom of the 5th on Maikel Franco's first homer of the day. The Braves put themselves ahead 6-4 in the 8th inning with a home run from Charlie Culberson and a pinch hit home run by Willie Calhoun. Then in the 8th they went ahead 7-4 on Ronald Acuna Jr's second homer of the game.

We answered back in the bottom of the 8th with an RBI double from Nick Williams and a Roman Quinn groundout.

9th inning doesn't get off to a good start as Jean Segura grounded out and J.T. Realmuto flew out. With 2 outs it was up to Scott Kingery to keep the game alive. He did so with a 2 out walk. Up stepped Maikel Franco as the winning run who battled to a full count fouling off pitches until he got a meatball that was bombed to center field for a 2-run walk-off home run! What a finish! The Phillies and Braves split the 4 game series.

With the Nationals loss to the Twins, the Phillies sit 6 1/2 games back in the NL East with 16 to play.

Last night I dropped a 16 inning thriller to the Rockies. The kind of game where guys took 8 at bats, reserves who pinch hit or ran took 4 ab's, relief pitchers took ab's and guys were forced to play out of position. It was so much fun until of course Charlie Blackmon walked it off.

Well that extra innings loss dropped me to 4 gb of Washington for the second wild card spot. However I host Washington for 3 games and have a great opportunity to close that gap. I will face Scherzer and Stras in this series but I'm confident in my offense and their ability to produce. Adding Brian Anderson really lengthens the lineup. We sit at 58-52 so there are 52 games remaining and this series will heavily impact the rest of our season and where we end up.
