Yeah it's been rough. Got swept in a 2 game mini series against the Braves and now lost the first 3 in a 4 game series against the Rays. I trail Oakland now by 2 game's for that final wild card spot and the Rays are now only 1 gb of me . So losing these 3 games to them isn't good at all , but it really makes for some exciting games . Hopefully when I play tomorrow I can get out of this slump and get back on track .

The classic rosters are awesome. I am in July on a 1997 replay trying to correct history and get the Indians a championship in 97. Sorry Marlins fans, I was 16 and it devastated my childhood. My wife still gets annoyed when I complain about it. This means she is all for this franchise and hopes I can be successful so I complain less. Probably not too likely but we will see.

I just downloaded the 1987 roster as well and looking through it is awesome. I am going to put on 30 team control and play one random game per game week or probably month early on and eventually see how I can reshape my favorite era of baseball, the 90s.

The 7 total hits in 5 games would drive me mad. I had a series where I managed 1 run on 10 hits in 3 games and I was ready to restart a new franchise I was so frustrated. I can't imagine how you perservered through that.

Without a doubt. My first favorite game was Ken Griffey Jr presents major league baseball. The retro mode in here is always fun to play and show my kids how the games used to be.

no one has done any manager mode sliders this year so i tried these. woof. Set ratings for a pitcher to 99 in everything and he gets knocked around every time. I see way too many doubles, 12 home runs per game. Guys with 20 speed legging out triples.

I was doing a manage mode with 19 and default sliders works the best. I stopped playing it bc I couldn't get past no injuries or delays. But stats were within limits imo

Reading the All-Star sliders JoshC1977 has made and I'm curious to know the reason why foul fre is at 4 and not 5? Can someone just please explain the reason for this slider and it's purpose ? Josh explains that anything below 5 and u start to see some really odd and ugly swings / animations , so I'm just curious to know why this slider is at 4 for user and 3 for CPU

I play with it at 4 for both CPU and user on all-star. I don't see any swing issues. Decreasing it lowers the number of foul balls you get and increases the number of close misses. It leads to increases in swing and miss.

I would chalk the difference, like any with sliders, to what the user/creator sees. Neither is wrong. It is what they saw with the game. I am sure both would say that sliders are a base and tailor to your individual skill set. I use my own sliders, neither of the 2 sets we are discussing. It doesn't make their sliders good or bad, it just means I know how I play and work to that.

I would suggest if you are not sure which one to set it at, try both and see.

Yeah the reason why I asked about the foul fre slider is cus I was playing with it at 5 for the most part of my Jays franchise but adjusted it to 4 a few weeks ago just as it is in the set . I thought this could be contributing to my slump in recent games , before playing today's games I've lost 5 straight with only 7 hits total in those 5 games as u may recall , and today I played 4 games and yet again I lost all 4 and this time I got a total of only 4 runs on 13 hits . So I've lost now 9 straight and only managed 20 hits in these 9 games !

I just don't know what's going on , I'm playing the same way as I always do and working the counts in my favor , I usually make the opposition pitcher throw around 85-95 pitches in 6 innings of work , so I'm swinging at good pitches that I like but everything is fouled off or just a pop out or fly out right to them . I've never been so frustrated as I was today , this is just insane . I swear I seen a few hairs turn gray today lol

I have gone through this too where my playing hasn't changed but the results have for extended periods. I recently lost 8 of 9 while working walks and swinging at good pitches. Many times it seems every ball I hit hard is right to a defender. And yes there are other times when I slump because I start pressing and swinging at everything. I used to be an arcade/simulation hybrid style player on other titles and almost always win the championship. So becoming a sim style player and fighting to play.500 ball has been quite an adjustment and very frustrating at times.

Would anybody here be willing to give me base stealing tips? I'm successful on less than 30% of my attempts. Plus as the Giant's I have nobody faster than 74 on my 25-man.

Lol same here , I'm awful at stealing bases and I believe the fastest player I got is Biggio with 73 or 74 speed . When scouting draft picks I was looking for a new CF for the future with good base running ability with speed and check out my 1st round pick , I can't wait to get this guy in the lineup . Has very decent contact aswell and is great in the outfield . So excited for this future star
