Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
question... not sure if maybe this has been discussed on here before and I missed it.
what adjustments would you think to make if one wanted to reflect the "juiced ball" power/home run surge in baseball this year?
Power +1? Solid hits +1? both? both + Contact -1 maybe?
thoughts?Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I have to share this.
In my 8+ years of playing The Show, I have never been more pumped to win a regular season series.
Just finished a 3 game set in Oakland where we took 2 of 3. All 3 were 1-run games and all 3 were see saw BATTLES like you wouldn't believe. Comebacks on comebacks on comebacks.
Had below average starting pitching and bullpen support in all 3. Offense fought like freaking CHAMPS in all 3.
Game 1: Down 5-4 heading into top 9th after being up 3-2 earlier in the game. Came back against Treinen and won 6-5.
Game 2: After being up 3-1, went into the 9th down 7-3 before making it 7-6 again off Treinen but Tyler Wade struck out with the tying run on 3rd and go ahead run on 2nd. TOUGH loss.
Game 3: Of course the rubber match went 13 innings. Put up a 5 spot in top 1st. Eventually, it's 6-6 and then down 8-6 until Clint Frazier ropes a game tying 2 run double into the right center gap with 2 outs in the top 8th. Wade would follow with a go ahead single. Tommy Kahnle then allows a HR in the bottom 8th to tie it for Oakland. Fast forward to the 13th when Frazier lines a single into right to give us the lead that Chapman would barely hold after a rough bottom of the 13th to win the series.
I was literally jumping up pumping my fist throughout this series and especially the last game.
What a time I'm having playing this game. Wow.Comment

What a great finish in a absolute thriller of a game !! 1st pitch from Wade Davis the 3 time all star was just a meatball down the middle and got absolutely crushed 483 FT by Justin Smoak . (Personal record for me without a doubt ) And then he gives up a 2nd home run to Gurriel Jr which gave us a 2 run lead . And trying to close things out with Giles I nearly blew it but managed to pull it off for a great exciting win . Love this game !!!

Now this is weird. I have trades set to manual. Just finished a game against the Braves and got a notification that Rhys Hoskins was traded to the Astros. I never even got a trade offer from the Astros and have no clue why the CPU would do this on their own. I can't reverse it either. I'm gonna have to exit out and replay the game again. Wow.

It can be really easy to think you have one profile active, but are actually using another, and I'm not saying that condescendingly because I had a similar situation. It happened a while back where I had disabled injuries with the actual option (not the slider) to test some full-season sim stuff, then accidentally ended up with that profile in a new franchise i started - and was left wondering why my team was the only one in the league not getting anyone injured, in-game or sim.
The profile system, while very thorough as long as you know what you're doing, isn't very intuitive and I wish SDS could find some way to refine it while retaining its functoinality.
If it's not that, then.....weird bug, I guess.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Working through a stretch where my offense has not produced more then 7 hits in the last 6 games. As frustrating as this is I'm sticking with it and enjoying the challenge of a long baseball season. Also because player ratings matter I know it's harder using the Giant's lineup. I have no great hitters so my pitching is always under pressure to be great. I'm loving this at a record of 16-16 in my first ever Show franchise it feels like I have the same challenges the real Giant's faced this season. I've really got to battle to compete. In other titles I've played it was like an automatic championship every season. This is the baseball game I've always wanted. Bought a ps4 a month ago just to play this. Totally worth it.

Finished my regular season today. I streamed the end of the regular season stats if anyone wants to see.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

Those auto/manual management settings are tied to user profile, so you might want to make sure you have the right profile associated with your user team. And I think those options are in "mode-specific settings" for each profile.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation S
It had to be a weird bug. My settings are as I always have them. I went back into the file and tested it 3-4 times by simming to the next day and it didn't happen again. Sucks I have to replay the game again. I lost the first time so I guess if I can get a win I'll take it.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
It's always a good idea to have at least two saves of your franchise that you rotate saving manually on.
You can still use autosave and backup your data from corruption this way. Then you won't lose very much in case of a game corrupting bug.

Ever since I deleted my save by accident I've been saving on the HDD, to the cloud and on a USB after every game.Comment
