Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I never feel a vibration and on fastballs I hold all the way until it's in the catcher's glove.Comment

On Armors opening page about two thirds down he begins to talk about pitching with no visual aid he speaks of max effort being controller vibration

None that I’m aware of. The one big difference seems to be Armor’s set has CPU solid hits at 4. Some on here also have human solid hits at 4 as well.

I know. I'm saying I don't feel it no matter what.Comment

Stupid question do you have the vibration setting on. I've have always had a vibration with classic pitching

Gotta hold the button down till you feel the vibration. Personally I like to let it go just before it vibrates most of the time. I time it by watching the pitchers feet to get a visual cue.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Going to chime in as a first-time classic pitching user as well (have used meter for years, but decided to give a variation of Armor’s clean screen approach a go, and I liked the idea of some of the ratings-based randomness that comes with classic as opposed to my ability to hit the meter.)
So, disclaimer: I do play with the pitch feedback / swing feedback on. I just couldn’t get used to not being able to push R2 and seeing if I was early or late on the swing. Coincidentally this worked out well for getting used to classic pitching and timing the holding / releasing of the button.
So if you have this feedback on, when pitching, you can check feedback. If the cpu swings, you’ll see their swing timing feedback... not a huge help. BUT, if they don’t swing, you see your pitch release timing... VERY helpful.
So what I do is, I do have vibration on and with the first few pitches I throw, I hold it until I feel the vibration, and get used to roughly where in the pitcher’s delivery the vibration happens, and start timing my release to just before where the vibration occurs. (I look for things like where their hands were in their windup when vibration happened, things like that). I also then make sure I check feedback on the first several pitches where the cpu doesn’t swing, and see how good my release timing was according to the game. Now granted, in my fantasy draft franchise I have a terrible pitching staff (I started this franchise picking my one cornerstone player with my first pick, then simming the rest of it to just “get what I get” and deal with the challenge that I’m dealt), so my stats aren’t great. But, it has really helped me find where each of my pitchers’ release points should be.
That said, there are still plenty of pitches where I have a good release and the pitch is nowhere close to where I wanted it... which I like because, in real life, only the elite of the elite hit their spots nearly every pitch. So with my terrible staff’s control ratings, it makes sense that there are going to be some control issues even if I have a perfect release.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
That’s exactly what I do. I know specific points on my starts on where to release. Kluber it’s the second step with the back foot. Clevinger it’s top of the leg kick. Bauer its when front foot almost hits the dirt etc...

My relievers are the only pitchers that have realistic K/9 numbers.

No matter how long I hold it there's no vibration. I have no clue why.Comment
