Holy moly! My Phillies were sitting at 7-2 with a 5 game winning streak until... Stephen Strasburg tossed a no hitter on me at Citizens Bank just now. Just goes to show that anything can really happen in any given game with this game. The city of Philadelphia is gonna be all up and arms over this, can’t wait to continue the journey. Have fun guys, this game is special!

Anybody have tips for pitching. I’m new to classic pitching and it’s on all star but I’m seeing a lot of balls. Some of my placement of course but the control isn’t there most of the timeComment

iv found that classic pitching i place the ball location in the strike zone wait till the controller vibrates and let go of the corrsoponding button not only this gives you the optimal speed and accuaracy most times it does not wear down ur pitchers as much as people think starting SP stamina 35 stamina goes for around 5-7 inings which about right for ur STARTING PITCHERS unless ur you got a batter at the plate then it be less.other wise ur bullpen will never be used .
Pitch Types By Direction.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Using these sliders on All star hitting. My first franchise I was 15-12 before restarting for OSFM rosters. Now I’m sitting 7-12 on the new franchise and can’t get any offence going at all!
You are right about sample size. I thought I was going to have to make some changes after the first franchise, but the game definitely has ebbs and flows. Hope my bats can come around to end the month of April!

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
So guys I'm struggling a bit with classic pitching. I've read the discussions (where it seems there's different theories on when to release the button) and tried it pretty much everyway. One thing that confuses me is the vibration. I literally don't feel it (yes it works on my controller and is turned on). No matter how long I hold the button it seems there's no vibration when pitching.
Hitting is another story. I've played about 20 franchise games total and started my franchise over at one point after starting 0-11 mainly due to I suck at hitting (never had issues in past versions of the game). I think part of it is I play as the Rays and despite playing well in real life their lineup doesn't have much pop. Most people in this forum are probably better at the game than me (not my top sport) but I'll take and appreciate any advice I can get.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
These sliders and the way 19 plays I've been loving the game more and more.
Just had my toughest win so far in 19. Phil's vs Mets Degrom held me to 1 hit until the 8th inning, Mets up 1-0.
Had 2 outs man on 1st via walk, errant throw, man to 2nd, Segura gets a nice single to get the man home tied game 1-1. Harper then smacks a double off the wall, 2-1.
They pull Degrom, Hoskins then smacks a double himself, 3-1. I close out the 9th and pull out the win.
Definitely most challenging game I've had in years of the Show.

On a different note. I've been trying to lock in on my pitching sliders now that I've locked in on hitting. For hitting I'm using exact OP with User Timing at 6. For pitching I wanted to see the CPU offense have a little more pop so I tried with CPU solid hits at 5 but I didnt love it. Their XBH stayed the same, they just got way more singles. So I went back to Solid Hits at 4 and tried power at 6. That did the trick for sure. CPU is now human as far as how often they make good contact, but now when they do it actually has a chance of being an XBH. Last game I played as Wade Miley vs Minn. Below is Miley's line from his start.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Man, this is the first year in a long time I’m really struggling to enjoy the game. The lack of strikeouts is really starting to get to me, bad. And while I appreciate the attempts at advice, I really don’t need any. I know how to pitch. I’m top ten in the league every year on this game using Armor’s sliders. This year hitting is just easier. Plain and simple. I’m leading the league in batting average (something I have NEVER done) and I’m dead last in strikeouts. Lester’s K/9 is around 5 and in real life his career K/9 is around 9. Darvish’s K/9 is sitting around 6 while his real life numbers are 11. Not once this year have I struck out the side. One game I had 10 total strikeouts, that’s the most I’ve had in a game. I just can’t see a starter ever going something like 7 innings with 12 k’s. Just not gonna happen.
And I don’t want to get into messing with settings and sliders. I know what level I play on. I know where my sliders usually are, I don’t want 30-40 games just to test out a new set.
Hopefully I see some changes come soon, if not this may be a short year for MLB for me. Especially if Cyberpunk 2077 releases in 2019.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Not sure about the vibration part. It works for me except when there are runners on base, then you're on your own. As far as hitting goes....First I'd ask if you've seen Armor's most recent update where he put User Solid Hits back to 5. If you've already done that then I'd try either lowering pitch speeds or raising your timing by one click to 6. I did the latter and have been loving it. I like the pitch speeds at 5 because I hate when I'm pitching and my FB 95+ and it doesn't look nearly that fast.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I had to really work with the camera this year to pick up the ball well and time up that fb. Now im locked in and it plays great.
I even kept solid hits at 4 , im seeing a good amount of them. I feel on all star i dont want to get too much of a boost on 5.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
One thing that I miss is the distance on homeruns. Finally playing my 1st game of my Yankees franchise. After 6 innings I’m up 7-2. Yankees have hit 5 doubles and 3 homers (with human solid hits at 4) and the Orioles have hit a double and homer. None of the 4 homers hit showed the distance. Is it just random?Yankees modern day

I use pulse since it’s the closest to classic that still allows some control over the outcome.
I’ve used it for the past 3 years, but something has definitely changed this year. Rarely does the CPU swing at pitches out of the zone with 2 strikes, and when it does it’s foul ball city.
Never had problems pitching in the past, but this year it’s becoming a game killer for me.Comment

I feel you. It’s maddening and just ruining the game for me. Do you use classic or another method?Comment
