Yikes!! My 55-year old eyes would just see a blur at 8/8! I’ve read on this post that pitch speeds are faster this year so I think 5/5 should be my happy zone when it comes to being able to hit but still be challenged

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Hi, I’ve been lurking in ‘The Nest’ for a while this is my first post. I have a slider set that’s working well but I have a question.

I use timing hitting at veteran level (no shade please, I’m in my sixties ). All batting sliders are at default of 5 except human power which I keep going back and forth between 5 and 6. My last game I hit two ‘no doubter’ HRs with it set to 6.

My question is if I hit those well enough for no doubters on six would they still have been HRs at 5. Another way to look at it is does no doubter minus one on the power slider still equal a home run?

        Thanks.

No shade at all, I hope I’m still playing when I’m in my sixties.

I am not an expert by any means but I think there is more to it then just what power level your at in relation to “no doubters”. Someone will surely correct me if I am wrong but i think it doesn’t matter what power level your at for no doubters, when it figures all the factors that it does together its either a no doubter or not on that level. I really dont think there is a way to say ok a no doubter on level x is only a regular HR on level y, i think the slider just mostly plays into the frequency of HR’s when the dice are rolled for that setting. please someone correct me if i am wrong as I’m kind of curious to know this as well

How do I remove an injury to a player on a cpu-controlled team? I went into mode-specific options and turned injury management to manual but don’t remember how to remove injury

            Thanks

Go to injuries and click R2 or L2 to scroll to that team. Push L1 or R1 and you will get to manage injuries which gives you a list of players.

I hope I am gaming in 22 years still when I am in my sixties.

I would say keep it at 6 and play more to get a bigger sample size. Are you seeing more extra base hits than normal with it on 6? If so then keep it at 5. The other option would be you could keep it at 6 and knock solid hits down to 4 to potentially balance it out.

Also I don't know what shade is. First time I read it I thought you meant sun vs overcast in the game lol.

Does anybody know how to bunt? I had no problem with bunting in 18 I would just press the down arrow and most of the time the first basemen would tag the runner out and I would get the sacrifice. This year...I 95% of my sacrifice bunts have got force outs at 2nd or double plays. I don’t know if I just have to start sending the runner to avoid it or just stop bunting and take my chances with the pitcher hitting. Cause most of the time it’s a force out so now instead of a 60 some runner on first the pitcher replaces him.

Definitely send the runner when you are bunting. I just wait for the pitcher to start his motion, and let the runner go.

There's an animation that if the Pitcher is doing a pitchout, the batter slowly starts the bunt. Just hold off, let the pitch go, and if your runner got a good jump it'll be a steal.

Then you can try bunting again and hopefully get the runner to 3rd. Haven't had any issues bunting as long as I send the runner 1st.

Aim your bunt with the right stick. I was originally using the left stick to swing influence but it seemed to cause harder bunts. I’ve bunted maybe 6 times and have yet to get forced at second.

Don't start the runner. It really isn't necessary. They did seem to change the CPU's aggressiveness on this play from last year to make the CPU go to 2nd more often if there's a play there, but they did that because bunting for a hit actually works this year and the sacrifice would probably always be successful if it worked like last year.

Anyway...the control for it has changed a little now too. Flicking the right stick pre-pitch now influences the bunt direction (there's a small controller vibration to confirm it if you have vibration on), and if the 3B is playing in as he often does on a bunt situation, you're going to want to aim it to the right and push it up the 1B line, where the runner is being held on the base. Also, square early - if you try to bunt as the pitch comes in it's considered a drag bunt, which means it uses a different rating (one that most players are not good at).

It still won't always work - it's a percentage play, controlled by the players bunt rating and the location of the pitch. But it shouldn't result as an out at 2nd every time.

Go into custom practice and set up a repeatable sacrifice situation with someone you want to have do this in a game (probably a pitcher if you play NL). Put a runner on first and give yourself a count where the pitcher is going to throw more strikes.

You should see a page that has all the team players. They will all say no injuries. Find Choo and it will say his injury. Click him and it will ask you if you want to cancel his injury. You don’t want to be on the page where you see day to day, 10 day, and 60 day.
