I’d start with the contact slider

Thanks for the quick reply. Any idea about Simmed games having realistic stats? I didn’t see any mention on OP

The best way to do it is how you will get the most enjoyment out of the game. For me fielding frustrates me! I’m happy to take on the role of pitcher or manager and watch the fielding play out independently. I find it to still be immersive and can recount good plays days after they happened. For instance the other day Jackie Bradley dived for a catch and missed costing me the lead. We managed to pick him up and get the lead back. Then in the 9th with 2 outs and bases loaded (thanks Matt Barnes) he took off for another well hit ball into the outfield and snagged the best diving catch I’ve seen on the Show. By the time he got to the ball I was up out of my chair!

I'm kind of stuck in the middle here...I'm using All Star hitting, HOF pitching with these sliders. Pitch speed at 5 has me late on essentially any fastball. At 4 it's better, but I still hit way too many balls to the opposite field. At 3, I'm just too good and get too many hits. I'm not looking for a solution per se, just thinking out loud. I'm sure there are others in my boat.

Just to show how important it is to be patient with a slider set, let me explain my last game. I’m 12 games in. First in average, hrs, doubles. I’m playing the blue jays who literally have 1 guy batting above .200. The pitcher I was going against was low 70’s overall. I had 4 hits. All singles. I was shut out. Carrasco gave up 4 runs. Bullpen completely imploded. Overall I have up 10 runs on 18 hits. Prior to this my team ERA was slightly under 2.0.

            I. Got. Rocked.

You could try changing your batting camera. To me they give different perceptions of speed depending on the distance from the pitcher.

How have others Hr numbers improved after moving solid hits to 5? I’m through 11 games with Astros and only have 2. Gonna bump it up one and see how it goes.

Try playing with USER TIMING on 6, and keeping pitch speed at 5 or 4. I'm playing on HOF with USER TIMING on 6 because just like you, I was late on every fastball. I'm still at pitch speed 5 by the way.

I used to scratch my head at the use of auto-fielding until I tried it for a few games last year and now I can’t imagine going back.

Animations play out more smoothly when using it and you’ll likely see some that you typically wouldn’t not using it.

Same here. Felt like I would be doing myself a disservice by using auto-fielding. Now I could never see myself going back after trying it. See new animations and plays smoother like you said, and eliminates the occasional wonky defensive blunders that have plagued The Show for years.

My Braves are struggling. Since I clinch the division I am 2-5 and on a 5 game losing streak. Definitely not a good way to go into the playoffs. I have 5 games tongo in my regular season to get out of this funk.

I need to work on my hitting with your settings (I've never used directional hitting before).

Started a franchise with the Mariners. First game against the Padres, I lose 2-0 only getting 1 hit. A double in the first inning with Dee Gordon.

Second game I'm currently playing against the Rangers. King Felix gets shelled, giving up 7 runs by the 2nd inning. I'm still struggling to hit. I have 2 hits in the bottom of the 3rd.

Great challenge and I am enjoying the game. Just need to work on the new style of hitting is all.

I kept my solid hits at 4 and have 30HRs through 12 games with Cleveland. It’s weird how results are so different with HRs and strikeouts both. Good sign tho honestly. Obviously I’m going to cool off sooner or later

I’m with you on that. I tried solid hits at 5 and was seeing too many solid hits like my pitcher smoking a 96 mph fastball that he was late on. I tried pitch speeds at 6/6 (I used 6/7 last year) and while I was getting a decent amount of hits I was late on almost every 93+ fastball. So I think solid hits at 4 and pitch speeds at 5/5 will be the way I start my franchises

For the first time ever using the show I’m using 8/8 pitch speeds and I’m really enjoying it so far. Somehow I’d even be early on fastballs using 6/6
