I was a bit worried about hoping back into franchise after the patch after hearing timing was a bit off. I suck at batting xD but reading through all the posts I’ll hop into a few games tonight and see how it goes! Sounds like good things across the board.

If you play as much as I do (MLB is the only game I play year round) I'd suggest just starting your franchise if you have a roster set you like. Sliders can constantly be changed with updates and patches, and rosters can constantly be changed with transactions and how players over/underperform, there's never going to be the perfect moment to start. You blink and MLB The Show 20 is around the corner.



I see a lot of people spend half of the game's life cycle testing and perfecting their setup while waiting for the right time to start. Meanwhile I've been getting deeply attached to my franchise the whole time. But hey I like trying to get 10+yrs in per game cycle, if you like getting your perfect but less years in, don't listen to me haha

Well I am getting closer to be on a confident level to start my franchise for good. I think I will wait for the new OSFM roster with Vladdys new face scan as I play with the Jays.

Until then there are 2 things I have to test further
A) human strikeouts - It is too easy to get the ball in play and not miss with zone hitting.
I am thinking about foul frequency slider to 0 or 1 (had it there last year) or go back to default fastball pitch speed
I am currently at 4 and still not hitting very good. So I can‘t have less hits but also need way more strikeouts

B) I am a bit worried about CPU power/ extra base hits being to low so I think about raising solid hits to 5.
Again I get loads of singles from th CPU so it shouldnt affect total hits

For me it's just slightly different timing while hitting (I've already adjusted) and more hit variety. Seeing balls hit places I rarely did before.

Outstanding post!! Exactly my thoughts. Sim is a state of mind then go find the right difficulty level and slider and settings that fit your taste.

HOF is so sublime and the intensity of the games is a leap from All-Star for me personally. I still think AS is a very solid level for most players. But as you get a lot better the transition to HOF at first will be jarring but once you adjust it is really rewarding.

I made the transition back in MLB 15, and have converted my brother and a few friends over to HOF. I figured out the easiest way to get people to at least try it out too.

You'd be shocked how many people have the same opinion that I did about HOF before ever really trying it. I had the mindset that it would be the same as any other sports game's hardest difficulty level. I just assumed HOF would make CPU pitchers throw on the paint every pitch, the umpire would expand the zone for the CPU and shrink it for you, CPU fielders would immediately warp toward the landing spot of the ball as soon as there was contact, my fielders would have throwing errors every third throw to first base or just drop easy fly balls, the stuff that you see in other games.

As soon as I explained to my brother that HOF doesn't do that to you, he went "really? huh guess I'll try it then" and he's never looked back either.

The only thing I've noticed is the variety that you mentioned, more balls that hook or fade with the spin off the bat instead of straight liners, more choppers instead of dribblers, stuff like that.

I think the timing window adjustment was definitely made, but that it was essentially canceled out by the framerate issue being fixed. That's why it feels basically the same to me.

Prior to the patch, my team batting avg through 25 games was .266. I know it’s not a big sample, but in three games post patch my hit totals have been 3, 2, and 2. Plus I have been shutout all three games. Has anyone turned hit timing up at all? I’m thinking of turning it up one notch.

Feels fine post patch.. only 2 games in, but my game prior to the patch was a back and forth slug fest with the marlins which I won 11-9 in 12 innings... first game after patch, game 2 with marlins and lost 5-3... now I’m in my second game since the patch and have scored 8 in the first inning with one out.. still batting

I thought I was the only one. I was having such good games and great variety. I've played 4 games and have had run totals of 1,2,0, and 1. Such a bummer. I was locked in with the sliders and don't feel like having to adjust again. I know it's a small sample size, as well, but it feels like last year to me. The reason I stopped playing last year's game was because I couldn't string hits together. I rarely would get rallies. Every game was low scoring. This year, I was having rallies, getting 2 out RBI hits. It was glorious. In these 4 games, it's been so boring that it puts me to sleep. Could be a coincidence. I'll keep playing and see what happens.

My fist 4 games after the patch. I had the same thing. No more than 4 hits per game. I decided to change the camera angle to retro from fish eye. I then proceeded to have my next 3 games hit totals were 8,14, and 7. I don't know if it was the camera angle or just baseball but i am going to stick with it.

Haven’t changed any sliders post-patch and everything seems fine. Seeing a nice hit variety. Had 2 doubles in the gap, one line drive double down the line and an opposite field home run that barely cleared the fence. I lost 4-2 getting 11 hits for myself and allowing 12. I also struck out 14 times (yikes).
Top of the rotation guys are pitching much better than my 4 and 5 starters which is good. Strikeouts fluctuate. I had a game where I struck out 12 CPU hitters and the next game I only managed 3.

I read the patch notes (on my PS4, I don't do patch threads.) but I haven't played yet. Excited they got the drum in for progressive field. Gonna make my 2026 Indians franchise even better.

If John Adams ever stops going to Progressive I hope they have plenty of sound bits for his drum. He is a true part of that team spirit

My first game post patch I put up a 17 spot on the fading Orioles.

17 runs on 17 hits 4HR’s 5 doubles

Gary Sanchez had a 2 HR day with 6 RBI’s

Hitting is fine.
