On average I had more games where the total runs between both teams was >15 or <6 and in the 5 games I've played so far they were:

    2-7
    3-1
    7-5
    6-9
    4-2

I'm assuming that with a larger sample size I will see double digit run totals and shutouts happen, but the balance so far seems to be better. I'd rather see 50% of games be around 10 runs as opposed to most games being super high or low scoring which was my experience.
I'm good with the patch so far, and I don't even feel like I'm as good at the game as most people in this forum. That said I do have the weird I'm playing better on HOF than I was All-star thing going on.

I just hope we can stop testing and jump into our franchises. Played like 1,5 games yesterday with the exact sliders from Armour but with Zone hitting and Meter pitching as always. Didn‘t see much of a difference to before the patch besides framerates which improved a lot.

I honestly think this is indicative of the quality of the studio and the game, and not that weird at all based on how often it happens to people on here.

Most big sports games (i.e. Madden) are straight up arcade/casual experiences, and no matter how much they try to convince us they care about the fledgling sim fanbase we can clearly see they don't really care.

Madden and most other major sports titles feel similar in the way the A.I. plays against you no matter the difficulty, but The Show feels different. The A.I. gets smarter in MLB The Show instead of feeling like it's just becoming more rigged against you.

In Madden the major difference between All-Pro and All-Madden is that the CPU breaks more tackles, you get called for more penalties, and your QB can't throw within the vicinity of a receiver. It all seems to influence the ratings and not the CPU being better at how football is played.

In MLB the difference between All-Star and HOF is in how the CPU approaches the game in a more simulation manner. So all the young ADHD gamers who play Diamond Dynasty and need to swing at a pitch/throw a strike/hit the X button every 5 seconds love the difficulties like Veteran where the CPU only throws a ball on an 0-2 count. So it's boring to just sit there patiently and they think HOF is impossible instead of taking a ball or throwing a waste pitch.

The more sim you think you are as a gamer, the better the transition into HOF difficulty.

First game post patch against Boston, 4-1 win for the Yanks. 4runs 7 hits for the yanks and 1 run 6 hits for Boston. Porcello struck me out 8 times and Sevy struck out 8 batters also. Overall the timing felt different but not bad at all, felt like the offspeed pitches were harder to hit. Only one game but felt good to get back to winning, snapping a 5 game losing streak.

If you play as much as I do (MLB is the only game I play year round) I'd suggest just starting your franchise if you have a roster set you like. Sliders can constantly be changed with updates and patches, and rosters can constantly be changed with transactions and how players over/underperform, there's never going to be the perfect moment to start. You blink and MLB The Show 20 is around the corner.

I see a lot of people spend half of the game's life cycle testing and perfecting their setup while waiting for the right time to start. Meanwhile I've been getting deeply attached to my franchise the whole time. But hey I like trying to get 10+yrs in per game cycle, if you like getting your perfect but less years in, don't listen to me haha

I agree and baseball is like my 3rd favorite sport. So glad I got back into The Show. I'd like to see The Show add some of the franchise options 2K has like trade approval, injury control, etc.

Outstanding post!! Exactly my thoughts. Sim is a state of mind then go find the right difficulty level and slider and settings that fit your taste.

HOF is so sublime and the intensity of the games is a leap from All-Star for me personally. I still think AS is a very solid level for most players. But as you get a lot better the transition to HOF at first will be jarring but once you adjust it is really rewarding.

Lol I love this game. The game after I was no hit, I put up 11 runs. Love it.

No changes at this time. I need many more games to determine is any are even warranted.

To me that is a huge positive. Love how the game is playing with the OP HOF set.

I read the patch notes (on my PS4, I don't do patch threads.) but I haven't played yet. Excited they got the drum in for progressive field. Gonna make my 2026 Indians franchise even better.
