    Honestly,

Play with the OP on all-star and see how they feel after 20-25 games. Repost back to me the team you are using in those 20-25 games.

I will do!! That’s what I have been rolling with. They feel ok as of now. I just picked the game up yesterday.....I couldn’t stand it anymore, and wasn’t sure if it had been discussed on back a bit. Thank you for the time and work you put in man!!!

There is time left for him to build back some value he lost from the way he’s been pitching so far. Not sure they decide to maybe sell low on him by giving up on him and taking whatever they can still get for him in early June. Them taking it or holding on to him could probably go either way though realistically.

What is an area of need for the Jays? Would they be more inclined to take a an outfield prospect?

Jays main needs are pitching, bullpen mainly and help in the outfield . Most likely a CF . And I understand that real life needs might not be the same as in the game , but that low rated SS when there's Bo Bichette already there is a very bad deal for the Jays . If the Jays are giving up Giles they would want something much better and someone that would impact the team right away or very soon . Not a 61 rated SS . The Jays front office would never hear the end of it if from the Fans if they made this deal happen and wasted Giles on that deal .

I appreciate the feedback. It’s just what I’m looking for. I have intimate knowledge of the Cubs, but not the Jays. So considering Giles is having a god-awful year, what would it take to get him? What about Albert Almora Jr.?

Almora doesn’t have much trade value. How’s he doing in your franchise. I like Ademan + Almora + Chatwood for Giles.

Chatwoood has negative value and Almora 0 on the trade machine, but it plugs a couple of holes for Toronto for a reliever that isn’t performing well. As a Jays fan I would approve of this based off of your franchise universe. If Giles is playing well and the Jays competing I would not want them to do this deal.

Yet when I swing at offspeed pitches they may as well all be 70mph. They are way too slow this year.

I'm starting to think I need to take a year off from this game. DD pissed me off so much and now it's carrying over to Franchise.

The cpu will spam offspeed pitches when you can’t hit them, which raises the offspeed pitches confidence, which will result in them throwing them more.

Personally I haven’t had a hanging offspeed problem while pitching. I typically aim a minuscule amount below the zone and that works for me. I know it sounds simple but try aiming lower below the zone 🤷🏻*♂️

If you find offspeed too slow just up the speed. Armor talks about that all the time saying you can even go to 10/9 pitch speeds.

Lol he is on the Jays in my year 4 Yankees franchise. I consummated a deal for him in year one as the Jays needed OF help.

Needless to say he developed into their everyday LF in years 3 and now 4.

You simply have to lower pre-conceived expectations with prospects because some develop better than others. And some C prospects end up becoming B some B drop to C.

                Etc etc etc

I keep saying this. It is your universe. Have fun with it. If your going to be ultra realistic fine. But if you want story lines you gotta run with it and not look back.

I think your going to pull hairs.

And BTW most of the time in trades their are winners and losers.

Giles may end up sucking for you anyway. And you are renting him. You are taking on risk as he has been terrible and may still be a lemon in 2020 for you.

                Then who wins?

                Exactly.

There's a difference between "being ultra realistic" and "not abusing the AI" and I think people confuse the two.

A real life player at any one time has a certain ability level/skillset. That is a "snapshot in time" of that player. Even assuming that the roster ratings accurately reflect that particular snapshot, the minute you load it into a franchise - it is no longer a valid comparison. Real life value DOES NOT EQUATE to your franchise mode value; partly because of the 90 man rosters and partly because players are evolving based on a number of factors within your franchise - it is an incredibly dubious comparison. It doesn't matter if a trade "would" or "would not" happen in real life....because the minute you begin your franchise, your universe is completely different than real life.

So the question comes down to, "is the trade exploitative from a "it's just a video game" perspective?". What I like to do is this. If there is a deal I want to do that I know the CPU will accept but I "feel bad" or "unsure" about it, I add another player to the deal for them (maybe an older B prospect or a younger C guy; maybe giving a wily vet a chance at a ring if you're out of contention or giving them a guy to fill an injury void - create stories here). If I am making a BIG deal, I make an effort to give up a guy I really don't want to give up....I make it hurt a little (because if it hurts me to give him up, it means he's going to be valuable to my trade partner as well). It makes me "Take stock" and assess if it makes sense.

It's the very nature of video game franchise modes vs AIs that we sometimes have to put ourselves in the shoes of another team for a moment. Just make a good faith effort to do the right thing for them; they'll be stronger (adding to the challenge of the mode) and you'll feel better about the long-term duration of your franchise.

Hey armor you say this in the opening post:

“For those looking to curb HR’s

CPU/HUM Power both set to 4

For those looking to curb HR’s and exit velocity (less perfect/perfect hit balls)

                      CPU/HUM Power both at 4
                      CPU/HUM Timing both at 4”

My question is does this still stand after your adjustment to solid hits? Would one do power, timing, and solid hits all at 4?

                          Great question.

The Answer is it still stands even with solid hits at 4. The solid hits slider does reduce perfect/perfect but slightly creating far better hit variety outcomes. Reducing power and timing will nerf your offense. No question. But you will not lose the hit variety with solid hits at 4.

This is based on peoples skill levels or what they want to get out of the game.

I still believe using the OP is the very best route for 162 game outcomes for people who are very similar to my playing skill which is on display via Twitch.

If your skill level exceeds mine at the plate those adjustments should make a difference to what you seek in terms of nerfing power numbers and overall team batting average.

Had some work things come up this morning. All good.

                                Thank you for the response!
