    @Gagnon

I like the trade a lot for you. You are giving up a nice prospect for a rental. Makes a lot of sense.

And the Jay can flip him for something else with Bo Bichette in the fold for the foreseeable future.

I'd just like your opinions as I know some of you avoid the main forum, whereas I delve in there on a daily basis.

I'm obsessive over realism and I use the trade discussion thread on the main forum rather frequently to try and not rip off the CPU. I've been working on a deal to get some bullpen relief and I have it narrowed down. And ready to finalize. When discussing trades I think its always important to keep in mind our own individual franchises, how our teams are doing and how the players involved are performing. A lot of times people try to use the regular season (which we don't have at the moment), but to me doing that is irrelevant. Of course previous years apply.

Here's the proposed trade with details:

        Cubs receive

RHP Ken Giles and RHP Jacob Waguespack

Giles is 29, on the last year of his deal so he's a rental for the Cubs and he's having unquestionably the worst year of his career. Currently Giles is 1-3, with an ERA of 8.57 and a WHIP of 2.00. However, I like him because he has extremely high K/9 and still high velocity. I will not be using him in the closer role and in my, "show universe," I think a change of scenery could be just what he needs as the Blue Jays are 27-41 (12.5 behind the first place Red Sox) and 12.0 games out of a wild card spot. It's June 11th, so the chances of them making the playoffs is slim to none. If I'm the Jays, I'm looking for anything I can get for Giles at this point, but still want a decent prospect in return for a guy having the worst year of his career and someone who will be gone next season.

Jacob Waguespack is 25, a B potential starter and a 61 overall rating. He's pitched in 16 big league games last year and he's on the lower teir of the Jays strong group of pitching prospects that includes Nate Pearson and Alek Manoah, amongst others. They seem to be deep in pitching prospects and Wageuspack is not exactly, "young," for a prospect.

        BLUE JAYS RECEIVE

SS Aramis Ademan who is a 21-year old B potential prospect that is already a 67 overall (rating). So obviously, he's the superior prospect in the deal and really he's the piece being traded for Giles. The Jays are getting a likely future MLB shortstop in this deal. The only knock is that Ademan is on the IL. He's set to return around July-August of this season (again, it's currently June 11th).

RHP Tyler Chatwood, a 30-year old starter who I've used all season as my fifth guy. He's 3-2 with a 4.40 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. He's also a free agent at the end of the year and he's essentially being used in this deal to offset salary. His contract this year is for $10.5 M, so the Jays are going to have to take that on while the Cubs take on Giles $9.6 M.

So essentially this deal does the following:

        1. Gives the Cubs potential help in the bullpen and frees up a little in the budget as I'll likely shop for another fifth starter.
        2. Give the Jays a future MLB level shortstop.

I'm going to be looking for answers on the fifth starting spot if I do this deal but I'm willing to do so after how bad my bullpen has been. I already signed Arodys Viscaino and Tim Mayza who are both in Iowa but will likely be called up sometime this month. I also have Brandon Morrow who's worked his way back up through the minors and is in Iowa as well. He could be back with the Cubs around the All-Star break if all goes well. So while they might not all pan out I could have the following additions to the bullpen for the playoff push...

        Ken Giles
        Arodys Viscaino
        Tim Mayza
        Brandon Morrow

I know that was lengthy, but I'd love to hear any thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.
Giles will most likely be signing up a new deal with the Jays In real life , and they really would not let him go for that SS that u mentioned . We have no need for him at all , we have a Star and future all star SS in Bo Bichette . As a Jays fan and Jays Franchise player that deal makes zero sense for the Jays. Jays main needs are pitching, bullpen mainly and help in the outfield . Most likely a CF . And I understand that real life needs might not be the same as in the game , but that low rated SS when there's Bo Bichette already there is a very bad deal for the Jays . If the Jays are giving up Giles they would want something much better and someone that would impact the team right away or very soon . Not a 61 rated SS . The Jays front office would never hear the end of it if from the Fans if they made this deal happen and wasted Giles on that deal .

And this is where you are making a mistake. His franchise universe is nit real life. Even though he want ultra realism....what is the fun in that when you have Giles sucking *** in his universe, the Jays move him for a very good young SS prospect and then he can flip that SS for the Jays for a good young pitching prospect.

To me I always say....it’s your universe, your storylines.

          Have fun with it.

Yeah of course I get that , but as a die hard Jays fan and chise player that move is just hard to accept even in a game lol
He stated that the Jays are somewhere around 10 games back for that wild card spot and their chances of making it are slim to none . With still around 60 games left to played that's a unfair statement , they clearly have a shot still . So if they are willing to deal Giles at this time it's for a key impact player or players who can help and push them forward to compete for that spot right now and not a prospect of any sort at this time . But yeah they can flip him for a major League ready player as well . But yes I know ur right , its his own universe and anything goes . ( He gives us Ian Happ and it's a deal [emoji38])

The trade looks good to me, only thing I’m not sure about is the timing of it. If it were closer to the trade deadline I think the Jays would 100% pull the trigger on it. Since the prospect you would be sending over isn’t at a true position of need as they have Bichette locked in at SS, I think it also makes sense for them to take some risk and hold on to Giles and hope he turns it around.

There is time left for him to build back some value he lost from the way he’s been pitching so far. Not sure they decide to maybe sell low on him by giving up on him and taking whatever they can still get for him in early June. Them taking it or holding on to him could probably go either way though realistically.

Any type of curveball in this game is a complete joke. Throw it low it's always a ball. Put it just a tad bit above the bottom of the strikezone and it hangs right down the middle for a home run EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I haven't noticed this every single time, but I get where you're coming from. Easily my most punished mistake pitch this cycle. I'd say at least half of our home runs allowed come off a hung CB.

Oh and another thing. All the CPU does is spam offspeed pitches all game long. Changeups, curveballs and sliders.

Christian Yelich just went 4 for 5 with 3 home runs, 6 RBI and 4 runs scored in a game against me. All his hits on offspeed pitches that hung. Would have had 4 home runs but I robbed one of them.

Yet when I swing at offspeed pitches they may as well all be 70mph. They are way too slow this year.

I'm starting to think I need to take a year off from this game. DD pissed me off so much and now it's carrying over to Franchise.

I know you’re 100% HOF, but in my old age I’m still at AS difficulty pitching and batting. I know you don’t test on AS, and don’t blame you brother. Just wondering if you had a suggestion of anything slider wise you may would look at doing different for the AS level? Thanks in advance brother!!!

I have not. Lmao I have been an Armor follower for years, and just hate change, plus he is the damn man!!! Josh C is also, but Armor has been my go to for years in any sporting game he creates sliders for.
