No not advisable. I use it at 4 only for starters. Once the starter is out we click it back to 5 for the bullpen.

I am finding hook at 4 to work really well in combination with stamina at 6.

Up 6-5 bottom of the 9th. Bring in the closer.

1st batter hits a slow 32 hopper up the middle for a single.

2nd batter hits a chopper between pitcher and SS, no man's land, throw to first not in time.

3rd batter walks on 5 pitches as the 4th and 5th pitches I throw in the center of the zone goes wide by a mile.

4th batter hits a grounder right at the 3B that he misplays and it goes in to LF.

      I lose.

I'll be back at it tonight. Gotta shake that off but man that one hurt.

This is the exact reason I have my fielder reaction turned up to 7.. I noticed way too often that fielders were not reacting to choppers and slow rollers until it was too late, especially catchers. Even at 7 I've still hit hard grounders and line drives right past 1st or 3rd baseman that they didn't have time to react on. Fielder speed is still at 4 just like the op.

I'm sure I've read it on this thread before but the Minnesota Twins just rolled into town and all I can say is WOW. That lineup is something else. Absolutely hammered me with 34 runs in a 3 game set...Absolutely reeling right now in my Franchise with losses in 9 of our last 10...Yet this is easily the best sports game I've ever played.

Kudos to Armor and everyone else in this thread, what a game we have the chance to play.

Dude. I hear you lol. Their lineup annihilated me. People talk about the Yankees but the twins lineup IMO blows the Yankees lineup out of the water in this game. Lead off guy had 99 contact. Everybody 2-8 has ATLEAST 85 power it seems. Then there’s buxton at 9 with like 95speed and 90 steal rating. It’s insane!

I'm at work and I'm still hurting from the beat down they gave me lol.
Everything I threw was met with a laser shot. It didn't matter if it was on the black or down the middle, the result was the same. At one point I threw maybe 10-12 pitches that resulted in 7 base hits in a row...yet they came in .500 on the season so I guess it was just my lucky weekend!

I hear ya, but really I haven't seen it too often, it just all happened at once in that bottom of that 9th inning and was really frustrating to lose that way.

I hear you man.. I play with the Braves and have faced DeGrom and Syndegaard back to back. Struck out 13 and 9 times respectively. Usually I K about 6 times a game. They are so tough. The 99 mph up and in to rightys i can't touch and they know it.

I know this is a slider thread, but I always like opinions from those that post in it, so I have a question I'm curious about if you guys don't mind. As always, Armor, if you prefer not to have the thread cluttered with other topics, just let me know. I'd just like your opinions as I know some of you avoid the main forum, whereas I delve in there on a daily basis.

I'm obsessive over realism and I use the trade discussion thread on the main forum rather frequently to try and not rip off the CPU. I've been working on a deal to get some bullpen relief and I have it narrowed down. And ready to finalize. When discussing trades I think its always important to keep in mind our own individual franchises, how our teams are doing and how the players involved are performing. A lot of times people try to use the regular season (which we don't have at the moment), but to me doing that is irrelevant. Of course previous years apply.

Here's the proposed trade with details:

                      Cubs receive

RHP Ken Giles and RHP Jacob Waguespack

Giles is 29, on the last year of his deal so he's a rental for the Cubs and he's having unquestionably the worst year of his career. Currently Giles is 1-3, with an ERA of 8.57 and a WHIP of 2.00. However, I like him because he has extremely high K/9 and still high velocity. I will not be using him in the closer role and in my, "show universe," I think a change of scenery could be just what he needs as the Blue Jays are 27-41 (12.5 behind the first place Red Sox) and 12.0 games out of a wild card spot. It's June 11th, so the chances of them making the playoffs is slim to none. If I'm the Jays, I'm looking for anything I can get for Giles at this point, but still want a decent prospect in return for a guy having the worst year of his career and someone who will be gone next season.

Jacob Waguespack is 25, a B potential starter and a 61 overall rating. He's pitched in 16 big league games last year and he's on the lower teir of the Jays strong group of pitching prospects that includes Nate Pearson and Alek Manoah, amongst others. They seem to be deep in pitching prospects and Wageuspack is not exactly, "young," for a prospect.

                      BLUE JAYS RECEIVE

SS Aramis Ademan who is a 21-year old B potential prospect that is already a 67 overall (rating). So obviously, he's the superior prospect in the deal and really he's the piece being traded for Giles. The Jays are getting a likely future MLB shortstop in this deal. The only knock is that Ademan is on the IL. He's set to return around July-August of this season (again, it's currently June 11th).

RHP Tyler Chatwood, a 30-year old starter who I've used all season as my fifth guy. He's 3-2 with a 4.40 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. He's also a free agent at the end of the year and he's essentially being used in this deal to offset salary. His contract this year is for $10.5 M, so the Jays are going to have to take that on while the Cubs take on Giles $9.6 M.

So essentially this deal does the following:

                      1. Gives the Cubs potential help in the bullpen and frees up a little in the budget as I'll likely shop for another fifth starter.
                      2. Give the Jays a future MLB level shortstop.

I'm going to be looking for answers on the fifth starting spot if I do this deal but I'm willing to do so after how bad my bullpen has been. I already signed Arodys Viscaino and Tim Mayza who are both in Iowa but will likely be called up sometime this month. I also have Brandon Morrow who's worked his way back up through the minors and is in Iowa as well. He could be back with the Cubs around the All-Star break if all goes well. So while they might not all pan out I could have the following additions to the bullpen for the playoff push...

                      Ken Giles
                      Arodys Viscaino
                      Tim Mayza
                      Brandon Morrow

I know that was lengthy, but I'd love to hear any thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.

So I’m through April now in my Yankees franchise and I’m sitting at 23-9. My competition has been pretty terrible thus far so I’m not too shocked.

I lead the league in HRs with 80. The next closest team are the Twins at 62. Stanton and Judge each have 15. Without them I’d definitely have a lot worse of a record. I do score the majority of my runs off the HR, but that’s kinda the nature of this lineup.

31-13. so I'm thinking to myself, wow I'm gonna run away with this division. This is gonna be a piece of cake. Welp now I'm sitting at 33-24. Love it

Personally I think it's a good deal for what you're getting/giving up. You get a rental in Giles to help you now as well as a prospect that may be a #5 starter at best in the Majors. The Jays get a MLB level SS, or at the least a piece they can flip with Bichette slotted in at SS for the foreseeable future. I'd pull the trigger!

I know it's somewhere in the thread, but can someone help me out with the manager hook situation? Colin McHugh got taken out at 61 pitches in the 5th inning. It was a 2-2 game with the first two batters getting on.

I am suggesting if a starter is pitching well thru 4 innings adjust the hook slider to 4.

Once the cpu goes to the bullpen click it back to 5

                                Keep it simple.
