If you go thru the older posts ur kinda all over the place with thinking ur hitting too well but ur happy , then your wondering about making changes but ur happy lol
So all im saying is just try out the changes that you have been clearly thinking about and see what happens . And try to relax , no one's being aggressive here

That was most certainly not aggressively toned. I understood where you were coming from.

To me it is far for simulation when you are deciding the pitch sequencing as the CPU Catcher to me is not as smart as we may think with API.

      Just my opinion.

And there are times I listen to him.....and pay for it and sometimes I don’t. But a big part of my joy in playing is the strategic element of the game and calling my own pitches.
I think TheWarmWind said it best when he said he is not only the pitcher he is also the catcher when he is playing. Therefore call whatever you want.

Armor the more I have used your approach to playing this excellent game the more I have embraced it and love it.
Too many guys have hamstrung their Show experience by getting caught up in the minutiae and they forget this is a game which is about having fun.
You and Josh strive to create a gameplay experience which feels like playing baseball and it is fun and freeing. Especially after I let go of my concern for the minutiae and just started playing baseball. Thanks Armor keep up the good work.

I just wanna say I'm grateful for this thread, let alone the sliders, but the fact so many in here enjoy 20 the same way as I do.

You read some of the main forum threads, and good lord, I feel like I'm not playing the same game as some of those people.

I can't say it enough, I haven't had as much fun with a baseball game as I've had with 20, probably since NES days as a kid.

20 has been as close as a fix for not having real sports as possible right now.

Which pitching camera do you guys use in ballparks where it's difficult to see how many fingers the catcher is holding up?

Milwaukee is a total crapshoot for this lol.

I think the OF cam is a good general camera for this purpose - yes, it IS tough in that park.

But...I pretty much ignore my catcher to begin with...so I just stick with the normal broadcast view.

Spot on. This is why A&S recommends steer very clear of the main forum lol.

Going in there absolutely kills my mood to play this game.

Oh I know to steer clear of those threads, I just read them for giggles most of the time.

Granted some of the issues people are probably having are due to the modes and style of play that I don't play, especially Online and DD.

As far as my current Franchise play is going though, I can't stop. Maybe it's also the fact we don't have real Baseball, so I'm no longer worried about my chise being as accurate to real life as possible.

I 100% agree with ya titan! I am having more fun with 20 than I have for along time. The last adjustment on the sliders to 3.0 have just been spot on for my playing style. This is also the only thread I follow because it's more positive than negative.

After deciding to go back to Armor's sliders and his recommended adjustments for me, I just had what's been, in my opinion, the best game all year. Great pitching duel up until the very end!

Like, when I'm trying to be precise, I get rocked. If I just throw and don't aim, I have better success....then again maybe it depends on the pitcher.

I call my own game, and basically try to throw three kinds of pitches:

                        • unhittable pitches
                        • pitches intended to induce a ground ball
                        • pitches intended to induce a fly ball

I’ll also try to mix in being more specific, such as:

                        • ground ball to SS

And so my entire sequence will be throwing pitches designed to get a ground ball to short. I’ll do this for multiple batters in a row. If things go really well, I will in fact get several grounders to short and a few k’s thrown in and it’ll be the bottom of the third before I’m forced off this strategy, at which point I might shift to, say

                        • let’s get some weak flys here

So I’ll pitch up a sequence designed for some quick pop outs. Which generally involves trying to throw nasty up-and-in stuff, pitches that border between unhittable and pop-to-third. That means you might bean someone.

It’s all pretty great I love this game.
                        Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Just wanted to address something I heard in Armor's stream a few minutes ago. I had to step away so wasn't there when it was mentioned. Fixing equipment in franchise has never messed with progression for me. Trust me I'm always updating and fixing equipment as I am OCD bad about it. Lol I am even updating faces in my franchise on the fly and it has no effect.

To me it is far for simulation when you are deciding the pitch sequencing as the CPU Catcher to me is not as smart as we may think with API.

And there are times I listen to him.....and pay for it and sometimes I don’t. But a big part of my joy in playing is the strategic element of the game and calling my own pitches.

In real life pitchers shake off the catcher so I don’t see any problem doing so in the game.

Interesting, I’ve also heard that this is a possible effect on the progression, but as I edit equipment and things of that nature, player ratings do still indeed seem to change as normal, but I’d be more comfortable knowing someone with more experience than me, giving this notion a debunk or confirmation

I’m getting relatively low pitch counts on the User side. Averaging maybe 10-12 pitches an inning. Sometimes less. Has anyone else had this problem?

I’m not pitching particularly liberal either. I make sure to attack hitters, but I put together a realistic game plan for each batter I face. I feel like the CPU is way too aggressive, especially early in the count.
