I wonder what the numbers for SDS are. Like for a business aspect of it, do they think 21 was a success for them? I know a lot of people bought the game and that helps their business line cause that is a game sold. But if those people go back to 20, SDS doesn’t care cause they already have their money.

I know 20 started out with bugs but they were quickly resolved. Now it seems like they are happy with their product as is.

Unfortunately, they most likely are viewing it as a huge success. The addition of the Xbox player base easily negates whatever amount they lost from players like us.

Most of the people I know IRL that play The Show play Diamond Dynasty and Diamond Dynasty only. I just don't get it.

That is some funny stuff man. I’ve been pretty quite lately. I’ve just been cruising along in my Braves franchise on 20 and loving every second of it.

To here what you think about 21 after playing makes me so happy that I didn’t even give it a try. And I don’t even feel like I missed out on anything.

I’m am closing in on the end of the regular season in year 2 and man Ronald Acuna is rewriting the record books. He has entered the 60 60 club with 61 hr and 68 stolen bases he still has a chance at 70 70. It’s unreal.

I did resign Freddie I know last time I posted i was talking about that. He has been on fire since coming off the IL. After missing two months he still has 30 hr.

I’ve have 98 wins and have the best record in baseball. After losing game 7 of the World Series last year we are on a mission to win it all.

We shall see!!!!

Only 1 thing about 20 that drives me nuts - as a classic roster guy: the 3 batter minimum rule. That has killed me MANY times lol!!

Funny....we were talking about that last night on my stream. It is the only thing that is annoying.

In the meantime....I am heading out again for another Tourney this weekend....but we are at July 31st in Year 5 and all kinds things are about to unfold around the league and I will be updating the news wire with all the news before we leave Friday.

A monumental trade between the last place Padres and 2nd place Royals took place.....and let’s just say it was a block buster that the CPU did. I had nothing to do with it. And it was a doozy and I think was really cool that it happened.

We have some serious contract decisions to make with our Yankees and I am weighing some options here at the deadline and we also may make a huge trade to beef up our minor league system and future and it may seem like a crazy move.....but I am not convinced Luis Severino is worth the enormous amount of money he wants (31.5M a year). I can probably extend both Corbin and Chapmen or Corbin and Sanchez for what he wants....so we may make a big trade and move Severino despite being in the race for a second straight World Series appearance.

So lot’s to do and write up about soon!!! I will stream the trade deadline Hot Stove and the mid season extension’s around the league (we do a random number system for mid season extensions!!!)

I know baseball and this game are one of hot and cold streaks. But man. Anyone else gone through one where you just feel like you can't get anyone out? I've pitched on HOF for probably 3 years and have always been top 3-5 in ERA and at points found it too easy. The last 10 games I'm sporting an almost 6.5 ERA and any mistake the AI just crushes.

I know it will eventually turn but damn...

I know baseball and this game are one of hot and cold streaks. But man. Anyone else gone through one where you just feel like you can't get anyone out? Is the injury slider at 10 still valid for custom rosters such as Ridins and Brinskies 1000+ hour roster in MLB The Show 20?


I have had alot of injuries at the start of my chise... just want to confirm it's just baseball being baseball and not because the Durability numbers have been lowered for these rosters.

Yankees have Traded Luis Severino to the Astros is a wild move!

Details coming soon!!!

Astros are very much in the race and have a ton of cap space. They extended 3B Alex Bregman to a robust 5 year deal with a player option for an average yearly salary of 24MM

The Stros also immediately extended Severino to a 5 year 31MM a year extension.

The Yankees were simply not willing to commit that kind of money to Sevi long term as they have numerous other players to consider.

The return they got on Severino long term was less than what The Astros received in getting the 27 year old ACE however the Yankees got a veteran pitcher in return and the contract was more palatable with 3 year’s remaining on it at an average of 14MM a year.

That pitcher is:

Jacob deGrom!!

Now keep in mind my franchise started in 2017 so this is not the 2021 deGrom you see today.

Is he good? Yes of course. But Sevi has better ratings in my chise (that is why I love long term chises as players and the universe develop differently from real life) and is 5 years younger.

deGrom is a 87 overall and is having a decent year (like Sevi decent year).

But Jacob is back in New York and will be here the rest of his career.

We also got a 20 Year old “A” potential 2B in the deal. Details on him later!

It’s crazy to see how polar opposite I am from most people regarding 21. I REALLY enjoy it and these are the most realistic outcomes I’ve had in any iterations of The Show. I hated how the bat sounded as well, I somehow just got used to it I guess.

I looked over the entire OP and couldn't find anything on your random number system for contract extensions. How exactly do you go about it? I'm nearing that point in my 2020 franchise and would like to try it out.
