Question for anyone who has changed roles for their bullpen guys. My closing pitcher is having a terrible season, so I want to take him out of that role and begin giving a setup guy the save opportunities. Do you edit the CP and change him to a RP and vice versa and swap them in their respective slots, or do you just simply use them however you see fit without officialy editing their roles or changing their slot in the bullpen?

Just use the slots how you want them.

Not sure if it has any impact on the game but I edit all my relievers to whichever role I’m using them for.

Not sure why anyone’s leaving this thread, I’ve moved onto 21 and personally I’m still enjoying the set. I’m no slider guru but Armor’s MLB 20 approach is a go for 21 as well in my opinion, still haven’t noticed anything weird that needs to be tweaked. Good discussion in here for offline franchise players too, one of my favorite threads on OS.

I’m finally close to being totally on Armor’s clean screen style, pitching with Ball Marker off now. Only setting left to go is Vibration to off. Keeping it on for now until I get used to pitching with ball marker off so I’m not pitching totally blind yet haha.

Yeah the sliders work for 21 as well!!

And this thread is all about Franchise mode and getting the most out of the game whether it is 20, 21,
16,17....does not matter!!!!

Our sliders have been locked in going on well over a year now for MLB 20. There is no Slideritis in this thread.....ever. When you play every game every pitch....you will see why. If you incorporate the card system (regular season only)? Wow talk about adding another element of simulation greatness. Injury Matrix? It is awesome fun and makes you really think about pushing your guys in the grind of 162. People you should all be having fun with The Show and if that is MLB The Show 20 or 21 does not matter to me. The sliders will work for 21 just fine. You may need to tweak something here or there....depending on your skill level....but these are extremely locked in from years of testing and playing this series and the changes we had from 14-20 and putting in a good 7-8 hours with the retail version of 21 I was easily seeing how the sliders worked well with it (I plugged them right in when I played it as well as a dozen hours with the tech test which barely differed from the rattle copy). I can’t say with 100% certainty about 21 as I am not playing that game everyday....but it is extremely similar gameplay wise (dare I say other than some new animations in the OF and check swings) to MLB 20.

Anyway.....enjoy.

Is there a 2021 season roster that’s recommended using for TS20?

I have a PS5 and I’m planning on sticking with 20 till next year hopefully or till they return to the likes

Thanks Armor! Somehow I felt paranoia playing MLB TS20 on PS5, made me pick up MLB TS21, plugged the sliders and there’s no difference other than the fielder speed(I think), other than that shoe glitch on MLB TS 20 had me annoyed.

I’ll stick around here, who knows I might just return MLB TS 21 the last day my return period is due… I’ll use the ‘didn’t meet my expectations’ excuse.

Hi Armour. I am in a hitting slump so I checked your OP just to make sure my sliders were the same as yours. I noticed your pitch speeds at 7/6 down from 9/8. How long were you at 9/8? What caused you to go down 2 to 7/6? What are your indicators to change pitch speed? I’m currently at 8/7 and am wondering if it is a tad too high which is what is causing my slump

I very briefly tried a new hitting camera (Wide) and it required me to turn up the pitch speed. I decided I did not like it at all for my eyes. Went back to Fisheye and went back to what I use on the OP.

As far as your slump....tell me what it looks like and how long have you been in it. Slumps are a he part of the grind. Sometimes your entire team can get cold (ask the Yankees about their start this year).

So I need a lot more details. But you probably know I am going to say stick with it (or take some days off and step away which is what I do when I get into a real heavy rut with hitting).

SO tell me some more before I give you some suggestions so I can understand it a little better.

I use these for '21 and I'm in a MASSIVE slump. Worst one ever. But I'll hit my way out of it.

Thanks Armour. I think I figured it out. I was in a “me” slump. Had a lot of things on my mind while trying to play, so couldn’t focus and concentrate very well. Then I started to press. Swinging at everything, getting frustrated, etc. Turns out it wasn’t a pitch speed thing. I did go back to 7/6 and hit a homer on the first pitch I saw (pulled a 94 mph fastball but was sitting on it and it was right down the middle). Switched back to 8/7 and two batters hit another homer with Votto (pulled a 95 mph heater). So I’m good staying at 8/7. But I did take a break for the afternoon. But it is true, sometimes I go in a “user” slump and make some of my hitters look pretty bad sometimes!!
