Not directly addressing anything here just want to piggy back off of the same topic.

With 21 I am struggling to stay engaged. It is the first time in this series I find myself returning to the previous version. Even when I started playing 20 I was longing for 19 for the first month when I had the chance to play. But I never went back to it. I stayed with 20 and enjoyed a great season with my 2027 Indians and some fun rebuilds as well.

This year I have gone back to 20 a couple times during the cycle so far. 21 plays a good, not great, game on the field but no matter what I do, something is just missing or doesn't feel quite right. I just can't stay engaged in it. I found myself starting the off-season in my 20 Indians franchise that I just finished the 2027 season for. Had to make multiple big choices. And enjoying a nice start to the new season.

There are just some things on and off the field that bug me about 21. The contract and trade revamp is less than optimal for my liking at this point and I am not a fan of 30 team control. And on the field, it's hard to describe but something feels off about the flow of the game.

Oh well, just thought I would share since a lot in this thread are staying on 20. I want to love 21 but at this point I just can't.

So I am going to go full tilt into my 2028 season on 20 and just dabble with 21 for now.

I have played 21. It is a very solid game on the field but there are some things I don’t care for much, missing features that were crucial for me personally but like you Funky.....something feels off and just different to me.

I am sure a lot later in the cycle (near year end to be honest) I will crack open the shrink wrap on it and fool around with either a Classic Roster (1987) and Bacons full fictional roster using custom stadiums and retro stadiums.

By then they hopefully will have night games using Custom Stadiums. Until then it is all about MLB 20.

I truly hope and pray Y2Y and Sounds of the Show return!! Otherwise it will be extremely hard to ever pry me away from MLB 20.

Glad to see I’m not the only one struggling to find enjoyment this year. Felt like I might be going crazy.

I, too, feel like something is ‘off’ on the field and am on my 4th slider set, which is something I tend to avoid doing.

Kind of bummed I haven’t been able to find a PS5 yet, so I am stuck with it. [emoji90]

I thought if I dove in, posted my sliders, shared my roster, and started a new Indians journey, it would engage me but I have constantly found myself comparing everything to 20. So and so would have hit that or beat that throw, etc. Need to go back and fulfill my baseball gaming needs. It was going to take a lot to keep me from year 4 (2028) in my Indians franchise and so far 21 isn't able to keep the pull of it away.

Thought I was going crazy myself. I found myself tinkering with my sliders a bit too much. Something I avoid too. Feel like I have done more testing than playing this year which I never do because I just can't get it right.

I was all set to stay with '20 but my son surprised me with a copy of '21. I played some play nows, but it was right back to '20.

Like so many, I have many classic rosters to experience, but for me it is something that's hard to explain. '20 was a godsend for me last year; it was the only baseball we had all through spring. Playing '20 gave me a feeling that baseball still existed. '20 remains like a big ol safety blanket for me, a dear friend that I can't abandon, that gives me this feeling of comfort every time I fire it up.

Coming back to 20 atleast until they can get the damn pitching fixed on 21. I'm wanting to use a up-to date roster on 20. I've used Brinskies roster with your sliders it plays great. Quick question though. Does MK Harsh use Brinskies roster as a base and just do transactions or did he have his own base? I wanna use a "todays" roster but want to make sure it plays fine with these great sliders.

MK as far as I know uses Ridin’s roster as a base.

I never played baseball. Lol. So any tips for hitting will be appreciated. Is there a certain spot I should look when hitting. Ex. Look for the release point. Or should I try and track the ball after the pitcher throws it

Something I failed to mention about the slider set and playing with Bacons Fictional Roster.

Injuries should be at 6 for all played games and simmed games. His durability ratings globally simply can not handle injuries at 10.

I’ve tried them in addition to like 4 or five other sets and none of them have been able to fix ‘21 for me so far. I don’t know what was changed during one of the recent patches but it has left many of us scratching our heads.

Been playing this game for a loooooong time and something definitely feels off. I’d honestly recommend going back to ‘20 if you have a PS5.
