    Armor + all...

I am curious as to if these sliders/difficulty are getting a bit comfortable at the plate (resulting in more hits, home runs, etc)...should I keep these settings/sliders and move to Legend or simply move up pitch speeds and adjust HUM power and solid hits to make things “tougher”?

I’m playing HOF/HOF (just as the OP states) and wanted to see if anyone had experience with Legend to see if it’s worth moving to that difficultly, or if just making HOF tougher with pitch speeds is the best route when you start getting “too comfortable” in the batter’s box?

How deep are you in your current franchise and how long have you been playing HOF?

101 games in. Team is 71-30. Most top hitters (Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Happ) are all about .300+. I have been on HOF all season and have not deviated from your OP.

I would bump up pitch speed by one on both. At least that should make you feel uncomfortable and make you late on fastballs.

            Appreciate that Bryan - thanks!

Just mainly curious as to HOW Legend, collared to HOF, affects hitting?

I know it’s more “difficult”, but how? Pitchers paint corners better (that’s obvious)? Pitch speeds are a bit faster? Less walks? Less contact with bat (and therefore there’s virtually no forgiveness in swing timing?)

How legend *compares* to HOF, apologies for typo.

Really interested in why HOF/HOF (hitting and pitching) is the best difficulty to play on and if needed to make harder, sliders should be increased/decreased properly, opposed to moving up a difficultly. Or WHY Legend is something to steer clear from.

Fascinating to me, honestly, and I’m not sure I’ve seen this exact topic discussed before.

I think if you went to Legend you would have to change some other sliders. And that probably would create a domino effect on different things. Someone said on here, it might have been Armor or Mike Lowe, that legend is not ideal for classic cause it shrinks the timing window too much.

The pitch speeds I think would be the cleanest move. And you can keep raising it too if need be. Don’t know what would happen if you went offspeed -2 from fastball.

But I’m not a slider pro like Armor so he probably has a better explanation for you.

I really don’t know what the ones that are going to get MLB 21 are going to do without a Armor slider set. The franchise just won’t be the same. I just hope we can just plug these in and it will be fine.

That is exactly right. The timing window is extremely tight and with directional hitting it will be supremely difficult and I simply do not suggest Legend with that user interface.

Bumping up pitching speed by one click for example if you move to fast 8 bump off speed to 7) should fo the trick.

                        Oh man,
Took a perfect game in to the 9th inning with Daniel Ponce de Leon against the Dodgers last night and it ended up being the biggest gut punch loss I’ve ever had. Ponce gave up a double to Pollack to lead off the 9th and that was the beginning of trouble. I should’ve just went to the Pen only clinging to a 2-0 lead but I really wanted him to try to finish. Next batter Lux singles and it is a 2-1 game. So I bring in Gallegos and he gives up a 2 run HR to Mookie to give LA 3-2 lead. FF to bottom 9 and Goldy and Arenado lead off with back to back singles. Dejong rips a liner down the third base line and this is when things go to hell. I advance my base runners with the intention of scoring Goldy from second easily and sending Nado to third. I accidentally sent Nado home as well and had to back track him to stop at third. In doing so, it also instructed Goldy to retreat, who was one step from touching home plate and tying the game. The end result was Nado and Goldy both being tagged out in a rundown scenario double play. Next batter flies out and we lost 3-2. Sadly I have the video of everything just in case I threw a perfect 9th I wanted to have that memory. Now I have a different memory

That is horrible. What a way to lose the game. I guess you can play it off as Goldy tripping on his way home.

I’m still sitting here this morning replaying the whole scenario in my head and it still stings for some reason. It literally feels like this happened in real life. One thing I will say...during the 7th 8th and 9th innings my hands were shaking and my heart rate was jacked knowing that I had a perfect game in the works. Of all people too...it was Ponce de Leon....against the Dodgers. That just goes to show you it is possible with any pitcher against any lineup on any given night. I have never felt that way playing this game before. I believe only once have I been closer and that was a few years ago I was two outs away from a no no with Dakota Hudson

I cant tell you how many times I've left someone in too long due to my own ego of trying to make his stat line look better only to get burned. I'm doing it less now though, especially since I'm finally in a pennant race with my young team.
