I have always moved the slider to 0 BEFORE exiting the game.

Not sure if there is a bug or not, but that is one thing inconsistent I see in how you did it.

(I have not played in franchise for a bit so I can't confirm right now)

Do people actually use the swing influence with directional? I’ve been on a kick lately of using it. Almost every swing. It’s really awarding at times followed by periods of serious frustration lol.

Absolutely....I think it is vital this year in particular since this is a simulation-focused game (unlike past iterations).

I find I struggle the most when I fall back into bad habits from those past games and DON'T use them as often.

How do you view the pitcher's remaining energy without the pitch select display (if possible)? Or is that the point?

you can go to the substitution screen when pitching (upper right hand corner).

I try not to use it....

It seems to me that, after latest update, settings don't save in an old FM. I set them in Main Menu and went back in, and difficulties went back to AS+

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders

So I read through the whole thread, and I only saw one or two people experience what I have seen through about 40 games for my Cubs franchise using this set, basically (a) virtually no errors and (b) almost 100% DP chance success rate and almost 0 infield hits (even when speedy guys are involved).

I have tinkered with IF Arm Strength to 4 for about 10 games (and also moved OF Arm strength to 6 to attempt to keep the balance on relay throws the same) . . . it does seem to have helped the DP and infield hit issue, though I am concerned I have unbalanced something else.

Has anyone else noticed this (too many double plays, no infield hits, and almost no errors), or is this just random that I have experienced this?

The roster can make a big difference in terms of errors and fielding dynamics in general (depending on how well or badly ratings are done). I've seen zero issues with Bacon's fictional roster.

I dont use bacon's fictional roster and I haven't experienced this stuff either. The game plays great. Especially errors i see plenty with the average or below average fielders.

Hey Josh, what’s your approach at the plate in terms of using power swing, normal swing, and contact swing? I never use power swing, I prefer using “x” or normal swing and use directional hitting to change my swing from a homerun stroke to a protective, hit the ball up the middle or the other way stroke.

If you do use contact swing, does that just help in a two strike count or situational hitting? I’ve always just used normal swing, so I’m curious.

I use the different swings when the situation warrants; but like you, I predominantly use normal swing. Contact swings just sell-out for contact vs power and power swings are the opposite.

I just started diving into tinkering with Madden after a month of playing default. If I come up with anything worth sharing, I'll do it on my Twitter account (far easier to block people on that platform, lol).
