Interesting. I never knew classic was actually less cut and dry than just push a button. With that it seems that meter and classic are one in the same, just one is more visual. I'll have to find the thread on that when I'm at home on my pc.

The brewers series was interesting, and up and down. The results were as follows:

    L 2-0
    W 7-1
    W 14-6
    L 2-1

Bats were up and down, and in the 14-6 game even my two under .200 hitters got it going, but Corbin burnes put the breaks on the pirate offense in game 4. Pitching...I still don't like the lack of runs. Walks are up a bit and I'm actually seeing strikeouts, but unfortunately after 4 games plus the finale against the Nats I'm noticing a couple things. One is they are not hitting enough mistake pitches hard. Yes it happens, but just not as many as I feel they should. I'm breathing a ton of sighs of relief. Two is they are grounding into a lot of dps to end rallies. I think I forced like 10 of them that series. I am finally getting into a lot of pickles, which is great, but they are not bringing down the hammer. Heck the 14-6 game could've been close if they got a hr in two specific spots where I messed up a pitch.

With all that, im not totally sure if the lack of run production is due to my whole pitching staff being on a roll and needing some time to get "cooled off", or if it's going to be an all-star problem. I do know there is just a few too many weakly hit balls especially on meatballs, and it's leading to several quick innings. My next move is probably gonna have to be up the difficulty, but next up is the Yankees for two games so they might really give me a good feel for what I need. I also play the brewers again for 3 games after the yankees.

I would suggest playing some random games within your franchise with other teams first. You said it, your entire staff is on a hot streak which will play a larger role than it probably should.

Pitcher confidence on this game IMO will override any slider settings most times. If confidence is full it's going to be easy to pitch with pinpoint accuracy. Even if control and consistency sliders are at 0.

Try playing with a few other teams. Just pitch only, quick sim the hitting to test pitching. I'm thinking you'll see more of what you're wanting. HOF may work fine with producing more cpu offense but your strikeouts will be pretty low most of the time. Maybe try Allstar+ instead first if you need to.

Honestly playing other games to test is a great idea, but my problem is I have very little time to play these days and I'd rather not have to spend it testing games because I want to get through as many seasons as possible. I hate that this first season has become a testing ground now, but it is what it is, I started 2-9 so I thought the challenge would be there, but I slowly kept getting better and by the time I got up to a few games over .500 it was too late to start over.

If I ever do have a weekend where I have a night I can sit down and actually have some time to myself I'll definitely shoot for some testing, but until then I'll have to just adjust as I go, and since it's now seeming like playoffs is a foregone conclusion, I'd just like to have it be where it needs to be by playoff time, then I can get destroyed and move onto season two where things will normalize lol. Looking forward to season 2 as well because I got a lot of nice draft picks, including a potential elite Troutesque player that's MLB ready day one at 19 years old.

I completely understand the lack of time. I just don’t understand how your pitching is THAT good. Especially still using our sliders. I am the Mariners and below is the rubs allowed in my last 20 games.

            Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

Yeah I don't know why my pitching is this good either. Seems like no matter what I do it keeps on going. I won't Gove up though.

Pirates split the two games vs the Yankees, losing 6-2 game 1 and then winning 10-0 game 2. Yankees did come in at 42-44 and are missing stanton. Pirates are now 55-32 and 9 games ahead of both brewers and cubs for 1st place.

These were played with same settings, all star with op sliders on pitching and meter. I did turn off the strike zone though, but left ball marker on. I didn't notice a difference. I will turn off the marker if I need to eventually but now off of pin point I don't see an issue with knowing precise aim location if the pitch won't necessarily hit that spot most the time.

My next series is vs the brewers again. For this series I will try classic and see what happens. Most likely will play it Monday as I'm working 3 12 hour shifts starting tomorrow night, but being that I did meter against the brewers two days ago I feel like I can get a good sense of differences between meter and classic.

Also forgot to add that the pirates make their first trade of the season.

              A's get:
              CF Jake Marisnick
              CF Travis Swaggerty
              SP Bubba Chandler

              Pirates get:
              CF Ramon Laureano

Pirates have had some struggles vs lefites and have a massive amount of left handed talent in the minors, and a highly touted draft pick that's also a lefty. So they decided to acquire a strong right handed bat from a seller. Marisnick had been struggling greatly, batting just .190 and not pulling his weight even though he's only going up against the lefties. Laureano should help that, as it seems lately Chavis and Perez have been the only reliable Bats against lefties. Also should boost the rhp lineup as well, as laureno is an upgrade to the dh will matthiesson (1B 24 yo C pot righty with a nice bat vs lefties). This moves Jack suwinski to dh, laureano to LF.

Pirates gave up a 23 yo B pot in swaggerty, and a 19 yo B pot Bubba to make the deal along with the struggling marisnick

Well guys I just finished my game fo the year. 16-10 Phillies vs 16-10 Mets. We won 8-0, combined no hitter! The tension and drama late was unreal and quite the experience. Scherzer wasn’t totally on, gave me 6 strong, but the bullpen was unreal! 3 ip 6 k no bb. Great team performance, the pitching staff has been unreal so far. If some bats can get healthy soon and heat up we might go on a real run! Feel free to follow along my twitch for the rest of the season. This is why we play all 162. For moments like this!

That's awesome. I recently got to 1 out in the 9th with my starting pitcher no-hitting the Nationals and a bloop single ended that.

In my 35 years of playing various baseball games, I've only thrown one no hitter which was when I was a kid and I threw it with Tom Candiotti when he was on the Blue Jays. I'll never forget it.

That's pretty impressive. Great to see that can happen with these sliders though. I use the Mets as well and the bullpen is crazy good, especially Edwin Díaz. Congrats on the accomplishment!

Yeah thought it would be what the pirates would look for given how the season is playing out. Ideally with how the pitching ratings are I should be going for pitching, but given how my pitching has been performing I feel they wouldn't think it needed that much. It's kinda a weird spot.

It's also crazy what I could've done with the trade.too. could've done two c pot instead of two b plus gotten a b pot from them. Had to give them more to keep it realistic. I hate trading this year lol

Have been seeing really good variety since I’ve plugged in the OP sliders. Since my no no I’ve had a game where I blew out a team, got blown out, a close low scoring pitchers duel and a normal scoring game. You guys have found the right formula for offense on both sides with pitching still being plenty good as well. Good strikeout numbers both ways, good hit variety, etc. Only complaint at this point with this game is check swing and bullpen logic. But that’s completely separate for what the S & B fellas have cooked up. Just something SDS needs to address.

Side note: I absolutely am digging the 2 new tracks that were just added this weekend. Especially the Dollar Store one!

Awesome to hear! Hitting is going to be different for everyone usually, but the pitching and cpu offense should be spot on with these for everyone if using classic pitching.

For me hitting is still Veteran. But I've lowered contact to 5, power and solid hits still 5, and timing still 0. Also have more recently raised cpu consistency to 5 as well. But human hitting side is most difficult to get to me. Pitch speed also of course plays a factor into it as well.

I'm watching one of your games now vs the Braves. I had you followed on Twitch already and didn't know lol

                                Thanks for the nice words.

The bullpen logic is bad. Our setup with two MRP under 40 stamina in the LRP spots work okay and the best that I have tried. But still get some questionable moves.

Check swings are better in my opinion than last year. There are still times I felt like I went around and they called no swing. And times I felt like I checked and they said I went.

I think I’m more frustrated lately with the horrible strike zone calls. Throw a pitch and the ball curser is all the way in the strike zone and they call it a ball. I like the personalized strike zones but I feel like I get more bad calls against me than the cpu does.
