Sim stats only:


SP, RP and Hook all at 5 (default), put me within 10% of the actual # of CG's and # of 200 inning pitchers for the 1998 season (using ATG's 1998 rosters). LOCK THIS IN FOR 1998 SEASON PLAY (WHEN SIMMING).


For 1984 season play (using ATG's rosters) I recommend simming at SP 8, RP 6 and Hook at 0.
The # of 200 inning pitchers is way too high, BUT the # of CG's came within 5% of that seasons total.
I even took into account that there were 4 less teams in 1984.
It worked out to an average of 24 CG's per team in 1984.
This sim set up of 8/6/0 (with 30 teams) shook out to 22 CG's per team.

*****this 8/6/0 set up will also work for those playing with ATG's 1985 roster set.
The # of CG's and # of 200 inning pitchers in 1985 was really close to the 1984 season.

Hope this info helps somebody out there, and I'll try to now go the other way and dial in the # of 200 inning pitchers in 84/85, and not worry about the CG's.

Below are for those of us that want the correct SIM stats for total # of complete games and total # of 200 inning pitchers:


2023 franchise play: (using OOTB "or close to it" rosters/attributes)
SP 2
RP 0
Hook 10

1998 season play: (using ATG's 1998 rosters)
SP 5
RP 5
Hook 5
Default sliders works great!!!

1984 or 1985 season play: (using ATG's 1984 or 1985 rosters WITH their rebranding set-up)

2 options:

If you care more about the total # of Complete Games being accurate:
SP 8
RP 6
Hook 0

If you care more about the total # of 200 inning pitchers being accurate:
SP 5
RP 5
Hook 7

Yankees rookie short stop has overall ranking 86. He is better than 90% of all mlb shortstops. Thats common sense he is starting. His rating is higher than yanks other SS on roster. Good move for sure

Fielding errors need to be addressed. The higher values aren’t actually leading to more errors but more diving bobble stops. Quite the eye sore game after game

Yeah, that has been bad all year. I think even going back to 22. The error slider should not affect the ability to dive for the ball. It leads to added base hits. For a while earlier this year I just had fielding errors at 0.

Not sure how I missed, but what are the 2 adjustments to the simulated slider set?

Cool about your son at WPU and playing at USA Baseball. I am right down the road in Holly Springs. I like to go to a couple local university games each year and we get some teams visiting from up North in Feb / Mar and play at Ting Stadium in town!

That’s great! They had been practicing at Ting the last week while USA is turfing two of their 4 fields and finishing up the new indoor training facility.

They are back at USA tomorrow! Media day today!!

I am updating the OP with the “Dowie” Simulated game Slider set adjustments for both Modern Day and ATG Classic rosters.

The only thing we can try is simply using default 5 for infield fielding errors. I am not touching the other error sliders......I like what I have seen in dozens of games now.


I am locked into V2 and not looking back.

We will be playing 23 for the next 12 months easily......and depending on 24 it could be longer.

But I am now on the 12 month delayed cycle LOL. I have no reason to pay retail anymore when I have 23 and 20 to fill my virtual baseball universe addiction LOL.

23 is truly a new level for The Show and while I do have some regret not jumping in earlier.......I am happy I am here now. It’s a tremendous game after the 21 and 22 letdowns for me personally.

@armor. I assume once they are dialed in, you'll be sharing any adjustments that need to be made when playing with classic era rosters?

Based on your twitch....you just haven't spent enough time with 1985 to get a slider feel yet......am I right?

That is correct hit variety opened up better and anytime I adjust pitcher control I adjust solid hits in conjunction. It keeps it balanced properly.

And yes on the scorekeeper lol some generous scoring indeed.
