Auto fielding, auto throwing and dynamic camera is another level. I'm in as well

So happy u are onboard with 23 Armor!!! Been loving this iteration. One question on your sliders. I’m gonna try ‘em out tonight. Is pitching too easy? i.e are u giving up enough offense and are u striking out cpu too much? Basically, are they a threat?

I’ve played on legend pitching but struggled with completely balancing the cpu offense.

        Done.

We are onboard. Damn that [emoji838]

And ratings dice rolls will play supreme now.

And now Dowie is trying to get me to use auto baserunning......mmmm not there yet LOL.

        You'll get there.

        It levels the playing field.

The user simply isn't handcuffed like the cpu is in that aspect of the game.

We can be ultra aggressive on the base paths BUT ratings dictate the cpu controlled runner's behavior.

We need to play by the same rules darn it!

Gotta have that dice roll effect.

It's sorta great to yell at my tv because my "AI" controlled runner didn't advance a base or ran me out of a rally or inning etc.

It's how real life managers or 1B/3B coaches must feel (helpless) and I dig that.

I auto scout too, because A. the feature isn't so great and B. that too gives the user an unfair advantage.

Now it really matters what scouts you choose to have in your org.

For all the same reasons, I auto shift as well.

Hitter tendencies should dictate a shift not our utter hatred of them, but I won't die on that hill if you like to control shifts.

I just find the U.I. for shifts clunky and my games take so long to play as it is.

If I had to study hitter tendencies for every batter I'd go crazy.

My house rule is I can override the cpu generated shift innings 7 through 9.

I actually tried to let the AI catcher call every pitch and location for me, but I felt like that was taking it too far.

Something tells me that feature is more for players trying to learn the sport and gives the user an unfair advantage on the mound.

I'm not opposed to giving up pitch calling duties if someone can give me sound reasoning to do so.

Armor - we are even....you sold me on total clean screen and NO vibration.

I've always felt there is pre-game scouting under the hood that we can't see, and this is what the pitch calling is based on or based on the hitting zones that is removed from the clean screen. At least, that is how I rationalize it for myself.

Can't argue with that....that would be the other to philosophy/approach to the API pitch calling for sure.

How many pitchers call their own game in the modern era...chances are it's zero, so you could look at it as you are just following the catchers calls and shaking it off once in awhile.

I actually think Armor plays this way.

              FYI,

For those downloading 70's, 80', 90, or 2000's era stadiums, pay attention to the stadium's elevation when selecting which version of the park you are going to DL.

That elevation might make the parks play differently than they should (think Coors Field).

Auto base running is solid for me... Here is why, you can sit back and let them do their thing. I've been throw out stealing without wanting to steal, but adds a different element.. But, you can steal if you want just like on manual and you can send guys whenever you want as well.

Using this was a no brainer for me years ago.

NOW, both of you have me intrigued with auto throwing LOL.

That is exactly how I play. Catchers calls 70-80% of the time and I have a shake off if I am feeling better about a different pitch for that batter in that count and in that situation.

                    Playing baseball.....it's a beautiful thing.

Hey Armor I was just wondering what if any of the sliders were influenced by the higher pitch speed. I played around 200 games on all star + with most of those games on default pitch speed and the retro camera. So nine has been a significant challenge. I’ve played only seven games but getting blown away by 92 mph fastballs has been quite an adjustment.

Pitch speeds at 9 is so nice.. hitting and pitching actually feels real and fun.

So far the set is playing out great. Haven’t seen anything that needs changing. Gonna try the auto throwing soon. Been using auto baserunner for a few years now.

Actually no. Pitch speed has no influence on any of the sliders and their values.

                              It's a personal preference slider.

I can tell you though it truly does crank up the difficulty and can be a challenge and also once you get used to it.....ultra realistic IMO.

Fastballs really do look like fastballs at the MLB level with pitch speeds at 9/9 and 10/10 and the junk is even better.

Wait till you see 100 MPH fastballs and sinkers.....awesome sauce.

But again it's your game and you should have them at a spot you feel for your eyes and skill level is balanced.
