    Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders

Update on my testing in franchise. I finally dropped CPU contact and power down from 8 to 7 (everything else at default) because I was giving up 10 runs a game pretty much. Two games with those sliders at 7 and man, the CPU is tough to strikeout (classic pitching). I don't have great pitchers because I'm in the process of rebuilding the Angels, but still its very promising. The games are a real battle and that's how I want it to feel.

Yeah, contact at 7 feels good. We are now trying 7/5/7/5. Probably not much difference with the timing and power switched. We have tried power at 6 plus and the CPU hammers you. Even groundballs are faster which makes more singles cause they go through the infield.

Yeah power at 7 is nasty to deal with right now. But I don't want to switch it yet. Since I'm in a rebuild I'm not to worried about wins and losses quite yet.
I may back it down eventually to something more reasonable but we'll see. I'm just glad the CPU seems really hard to K, like I have to earn it and using bad pitchers makes it pretty hard.

I'm back to being very happy with the game again thank God. Contact at 6 I get strikeouts easily. At 7 the game feels like it did pre patch 12. Glad you are finding what works for you and are enjoying this game. When it's good it's the best sports title out there IMO. College football will give it a run though lol

Just won a tight one to avoid the sweep.

            CIN 4 7 1 (1BB 7K) 3B, HR
            MIL 3 10 0 (2BB 7K) 2 2B, HR

Ashcraft went 6ip 6h 1er 1bb 3k. My relievers got four Ks. Very tough game to win. Elly made some great defensive plays making me question my decision to move him to CF next year or not.

I was thinking of trying out the CPU hitting sliders you posted with CPU contact at 7..one question..I play full games so do you think I should raise cpy foul slider a notch or two or leave it at zero? Thanks

You can leave it at 0. That is so they can more hits down the line. If you raise it, those will be foul balls.

hey yall, thank you for taking the time to get these settings right and then share it with the world. pitching has always been my biggest beef with the game and your settings (i chose to do an extra CPU power) have fixed that. I use to play on Legend and jacked up sliders, it was ok but I didnt like how I always got beat on fastballs up or in. So, with your settings finally working so it wasnt too easy to pitch, I made a change moving fastball speed down a notch. but the problem is on Legend with no other sliders I hit 3 to 4 homers a game. I lower 2 power sliders, same thing. Lowered it 4 and I was hitting less than one homer a game. Raised power an extra point and adjusted timing two to the right. hit 8 homers in last 4 games, but seems ok, I guess.

now here is the problem and the main point... I CANT HIT WITH RISP!!!! latest example I went 1-15! I ended game with 14 hits! on at least 10 out of AB with RISP I had at least one good swing. And on at least a couple it was on pitches down the middle. hitting around 200 with RISP maybe less through 11 games. and it just seems the CPU wont give me a hit with RISP! I think 75% of my runs are from HRs

                      anyone else have this experience

Yes, with the pitching. Offense, it is up to you on your skill level. I am on HOF while Steve is on Allstar. I like the feeling of Allstar hitting but my offensive numbers are way too high and I mostly get 10-13 hits per game.

                          So many factors......

                          1) could be a rough stretch for your team. Ive gone through periods of a week or so where I just can't get when I need one. And then soon after that it changes as the team comes out of a slump. I've had similar stretches with pitching as well. I would ride it out.

                          2) it could be you. you might be trying TOO hard to get that big hit and end up losing your patience and not working the count and waiting for that one pitch.

                          3) your player have clutch ratings. this is probably not the issue, but it is a factor as far as how often your guys can get a big hit when needed.

Thank you for trying our sliders.

Yeah, I sometimes go through that as well. I don't think there is a slider that would affect that. I believe it is because of that clutch rating that takes over that they added in 23.

If anyone wants a bump in CPU, I tried one game with 7/6/7/5 and the CPU lit me up. The Rays scored 16 runs on 23 hits. You can sure tell the difference between power at 5 and 6.
