I can’t really get locked in with my hitting yet. Allstar i get too high average. So I am on HOF. I guess I was trying 6/5/5/0/5 and sometimes that was too high. I forgot I was supposed to have power at 4. So I might try the 6/4/5/0/5 to see if that still works. What are you seeing?

It could be because the latest starting pitchers I faced had high confidence and also faced some flame throwers but it seems like I've been making very week contact and hitting more ground balls and not as many doubles lately.

Yeah, it is hard to tell if it’s just a slump or just good pitching. But I have had to get get good timing to hit the ball hard lately.

I'm also seeing a good amount of balls lately that would normally be a hit and they end up being a pop up. Just had a "Good" timing on a fastball down the middle with Harper and it was a pop up to the catcher. It just feels off.

Maybe someone can help with this. Steve and I use quick counts so we don’t get that information.

That is just a sign of Harper trending towards a cold streak most likely. When he's hot that will be hit hard.

Isn't the chase rate tied more to player ratings rather than sliders? I believe there is a discipline rating? Something along those lines...

Unfortunately the discipline attribute doesn't really effect whether a guy chases pitches outside the zone or not. I could be wrong, but for games played the only thing it MIGHT do is improve check swings. For simulated games the discipline attribute will help simulate the correct number of walks he will have over a full season. High discipline guys will have significantly more BBs than others.

The CPU plate approach and chasing too often has been a problem for as long as I can remember. They would probably need an entire new game engine to fix it and that's just not going to happen. Raising cpu contact is best we can do to help. This is why when they decreased fouls balls in 2023 and then again (to a smaller degree) in patch 12 this year, it really nerfs the CPU offense a lot. Because they chase too much etc there is a need for a higher number of fouled off pitches. When that is reduced we have a bunch more swing and misses from all those chase swings, when before they were fouled off.

Originally, the Discipline attribute was affecting check swings for Players as well by mixing it with player input to give more or less tolerance. Few years ago they disconnected this effect for players so it’s input base only. Do you know if it’s still the case in ‘24 ?

I honestly have no idea. Considering it is difficult to check swing I'd guess it is the same. 2021 is when they changed it cause before then I could check swing easily with guys like Carlos Santana who back then had a high discipline attribute.

Another game of all weak contact besides 2 HRs that I hit. I checked the last 5 box scores of games that I played and I only have 2 doubles and almost all of my runs are coming on on HRs (because between lack of doubles and weak ground balls it's been impossible to move runners to scoring position). I'm using V3 as I have for almost all season. I was having a blast playing this game but it's starting to feel more and more like last years which I gave up playing very early on.

                            Your hitting or the CPU?

Played one game wkth no quick counts and they were 41% chase rate. The SP has 33% chase rate in the first 6 IP.

I would boost up timing to 6 for user. You could bump up solid hits as well to 6.
