It is starting feel like the CPU gets an attribute boost in the second sixth inning. It is happening nearly every game for me. Why should we have to take our starting pitcher out the same inning every game even if they’re cruising?

You’re not alone, probably 30 managers in MLB complaining about it

In fact 6th inning is a turning point in baseball

- if you have your starter still in, he’s less efficient
- it coincides with hitters 3rd presence facing same pitcher
- if starting pitcher still not in the game, you probably have middle game reliever who are generally not as good as your starter and certainly not your best relievers you usually bring in 8th and 9th.

I threw a complete game shutout last night with Cole.

Don’t know what to say….but most pitchers don’t make it past the 6th inning in the modern game.

My goal to to get 6-7 strong innings before turning it over to my pen.

But the saying in the league the last 10 years and still going is “5 and fly”

It’s the way it is these days.

But when I play with 60’s/70’s/80’s and 90’s classic rosters Iget far more Quality starts and starters go deeper.

The Show replicates the sport better than any sports game bar none.

Just seems to be a tad overdone and pretty much automatic every game which is where my complaint stems from.

Only real “issue” I have with the game.
So much for Wheeler going deep in a game like he tends to do. 🤷🏻*♂️

Don’t want to derail your thread Armor but I find the subject interesting. Here some older stats but I’m sure it’s not that far still.

And not just in ‘25 but it’s something I experimented in previous versions of the show as well. I had to score early on Gerrit Cole by example because once his confidence goes to the roof, it’s gonna be a rough night.

It really is about pitcher confidence for sure and also building up confidence in 3 pitches…..to be successfu and go deep into a game with your stud starters.

How long does it take to download everything once I download the game? I have played the opening game between the Yankees and Dodgers almost twice already!! Why can’t I exit out of the practice game? I can either confirm start or confirm exit (which starts the game over). Why can’t I just exit?? I want to start my franchise!

So since I'm not as patient a hitter as i thought, I'm allowing the CPU play a game while I eat dinner. Braves @ Yankees - I'll provide the results later

In the game I played, the CPU's pitcher, Andy Pettite, 94 stamina, went 8 innings before being pulled. He only threw 71 pitches because I'm sucking at pitch recognition right now. But he did go through my lineup three times. Allowed 5 hits, 2 runs in the 7th on a 2 run HR by Sammy Sosa. He struck out 5 batters.

My pitcher Kerry Wood, threw 110 pitches over 9 IP. He has a 92 stamina attribute - struck 10 and allowed 6 runs. I never received the notification that he was getting tired. Human stamina at 6 and CPU starter at 8. I ended the game once the cpu replaced Pettite going into the bottom of the 9th

While you said to put manager hook at 8, I put it a 2 (minus 3 from your slider setting) at 8 wouldn't the cpu pull him earlier? Maybe I was overthinking?

In the CPU game Atlanta (Maddux) faced New York (Pettite) @ old Yankee Stadium.

Maddux went 6 2/3 IP with 93 pitches. He faced all their batters 3 times with the leadoff hitter Knoblauch having four plate appearances before he was pulled. Allowed 6 hits 2 ER 2 Bb and 7 K's. Maddux has a 99 stamina attribute

Pettite went a full 7 IP and 90 pitches and made through the Braves lineup down to the 6th place hitter 3 times before being removed - His final line was 3 hits, 2 ER 2 BB and 1 SO

I stopped the game after both pitchers were pulled because I haven't edited the NY bullpen as of yet.

If there is any particular information you need, let me know but imo the CPU stamina at 8 and manager hook were consistent with the 1998 era that I'm trying to replicate. Extremely small sample size but I will continue to monitor as I go through this roster set.

I said:
Starter Stamina 8
Reliever Stamina 5
Manager Hook to 3 then back to 5 when the starter is pulled.


And I just checked my post……I typoed the hook setting.

My bad.

Hook to 3 is where
i would test but maybe 2 is even better with the new logic.

I downloaded ‘25. Says press any button to start. It takes you to Yankees vs Dodgers game. I’ve been playing this game for several hours. My only options are to “confirm restart” or “confirm exit” which starts this game over again. There is an option to “exit” but I can’t choose this option yet. I don’t know how to get passed this game

Hmmm offence was crazy pre patch then after patch lots of 1-0 games dunno what’s happened but o think the bp logic actually working is good
