    Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***

Always fascinates me how the other teams will lock on to a guy.

This time, everyone is asking me about Isan Diaz. You turn a kid into a 3B and now everyone wants him!

And how often teams will ask you about the same guy

I thought I could get a break from the Padres in the The Show offering me Travis Jankowski every 4 days (almost literally), but now it's the Rockies and German Marquez. It's like...um...no...I still won't trade you Royce Lewis for him. Same as last Monday, and the Thursday before that, and the Sunday before that

You could always try the "Not Interested" action on a player if they keep offering him or the "Untouchable" action on any players you are not interested in trading. These are under Trade Options in the Actions list in the player card or if you right click that player in a roster/player list. You may have already known you could do that, but if not maybe it will help.

Thanks, I forget about some of these things. I'll have to put them on Untouchable for sure now.

Of course, I ended up shortlisting the guy, just in case he does something big or turns into a monster. Maybe I can sneak in and snipe him before he evolves, so to speak.

But for now, Untouchable it is

Do you really think you're worth $50 million?

I forgot to edit my camera angle for a particular ballpark, so I saved and exited the game I'd started. Went to click on Edit Ballpark and got the HAL 9000 "I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that." LOL

Does anyone else feel like there are a lot of wild pitches in the game? Especially with runners on base?

I think it just feels like it sometimes. My team has 43 WP through 104 games, which is about average. They seem to cluster together sometimes. None for 4 or 5 games, then bam 2 or 3 in one inning. You notice it more when it results in a run scoring.

I thought there were at first, especially when I saw a handful the first series of the year, but I am at 29 through 67 games. I also have a very wild bullpen that has control issues. On the 20-80 scale my bullpen control ratings are 30, 35, 45, 45, 50, 55, 55. Basically only 2-3 guys who are legitimately above average in control. My rotation has 45, 50, 50, 50, 55. Better than the bullpen, but barely. Mostly because they are just average at worst and not terrible like Rex Brother's 30 and Sam Freeman's 35.

WP are weird in my Angels save.

League-wide, I'm on pace for 1730 WP, which is less than what fangraphs has for 2017 (I'm using 2017's totals as my environment)

However, Ohtani has 12 already along with a few other guys in the AL, which "leads" the league. He's on pace for 18 WP in 200 IP.

There's the WP rating that's hidden, but Ohtani seems especially cursed unless his WP rating is really high (i.e. more WP per 550 BF).

That is cool, part of my wonder is managing more games, but even in my sim seasons seemed like the few games I would manager there would always be one or two. Who knows, but good to get feedback either way.

I think the other problem is every wild pitch goes to the back stop and results in a runner advancing.

I know that's what makes up a wild pitch but you don't see balls that trickle toward the dugout or balls that hit the umpire. So it feels like every off pitch is attributable to one thing.

Am I misreading something here? Scouting report says this guy projects as an ace. The scouting history shows my scout views him as a 50/70. But when I look at his profile on his player card my scout has him as 20/40.

I've seen that before, too. Based on his profile, I'd trust that 40 POT more.

No idea what causes it. I've seen guys high ceilings suddenly "crash" to 40-45, only to pop back up to where they were next scout.

You are only seeing what is a recorded stat. A wild pitch is only recorded as a wild pitch if a runner advances.
