Gotcha. Yeah, even if someone has average eye/avoid k, if he has a good contact rating or potential I grab him. At the very worst (if he develops) he will be able to fill in in case of injury.

If I pick near the end of the round it's normally guys with potentials in the 40s/50s (on a 20-80 scale.) There is always a good chance they still develop more though, but I don't like sluggers that strike out a lot. If I grab a guy with any power, he has to at least have something like... Ryan Braun/Joey Votto style ratings (where it's not like 4 contact, 7 power, 4 eye, 4 avoid k). I like a more balanced spread on my team.

As for pitching... I'll take someone with good movement and control over someone who throws absolute gas with subpar-to-average control. That's also why in every game I trade away Yovani Gallardo at the beginning.

Do any of you guys know if in ootp that if you make a small market team a consistent playoff team and maybe win the world series, does the market for your team get bigger?
For example: say the astros have made it to the playoffs for 5 years in a row and have gotten to the world series 1 time in those 5 years. Does the market labaled "small" bump up to say "average" due to the consistent winning?

I believe it does as well as fan interest. It could also go down if storylines are enabled

You'll just get something in your mailbox saying "X has happened" in the form of a story.

Say (for a single player) they get cast in a movie role in the off-season or something. Their national popularity will rise.

Oh ok thanks. My storylines are on because I get those messages sometimes.

Getting ready for the draft on my Jays game. With the 9th pick, I should be able to snag a decent prospect or two to restock the system. Probably going to be looking for a young 1B, pitching, and a solid outfield prospect.

For some reason, I didn't have anyone on my team that made the all-star game. Maybe it's cause I lost Fowler, Rutledge, and Tulo in consecutive days and they were the only 3 that deserved it.

This happens multiple times to me in every game... Especially if Braun gets hurt early. Once in a while Lucroy will be hot and make it, but me having no all stars is not uncommon.

I am 17-11 to start off the 2015 season. Signed Hunter Pence and a good backup catcher in the off season. Jonathen Singleton is now in the MLB so hopefully he can have a good year.
The owners expectations are to play .500 ball but I think this team has a shot qt the playoffs. Here is the Lineup:
                          C-Jason Castro
                          1B-Anthony Rizzo
                          2B-Jose Altuve
                          3B-Matt Dominguez
                          SS-Jonathan Villar
                          LF-Chris Carter
                          CF-John Mayberry Jr.
                          RF-Hunter Pence
DH-Neftali Soto (Rookieof the year last year)

                          Rotation:
                          Wade Miley
                          Ubaldo Jimenez
Brandon Marshall (Draft pick from 2013)
                          Steve Johnson
                          Brett Oberholtzer

Interesting that you brought Rizzo in. What are you going to do with Singleton? DH one of them?

Yes I forgot to mention the DH situation. When we have games with a DH (which is most games) I put Singleton as DH and I put Soto at 3rd. Soto is a natural 1st baseman so he is not that good at 3rd and hid fielding attributes are low. His bat, however, is fantastic so I'm hoping his bat makes up for his fielding and so far it has.
This is Soto's, and Singletons ratings (Contact/Gap Power/Power)

                              Soto: 15/15/15
                              Singleton: 15/14/15

Singletons eye is good but his avoid K is at 8 with a potential of 10.
Soto's ratings are high in every batting category, its just his fielding that is low.

Haven't played as much lately. Just been to busy.

Finally got to the All Star Break.

Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujol, Mike Trout, Ernesto Frieri and Tommy Hanson all made the AL All Star team for me. If only they could be this good in real life.
