As a possible replacement have you given Luis Jimenez a shot? Average to above average fielder, but he's hit .296/.328/.525 for me. His plate discipline sucks, but he's got some pop, and with that lineup he's a hell of a #7 or #8 hitter. At least he has been for me.
Jimenez has been solid Thanks for the recommendation bk. I play out all the games so his discipline or lack of it is not as big of a deal. I'll likely leave Cowart in AA then.

Welcome to the game my friend. No shame in losing to the Nats. At full health, they along with the Reds, Texas, and the Dodgers, are always amongst the top teams to start.

So what does Mike Trout do after I trash him to you guys? He smacks a two run homer and a grand slam in a 19-2 thrashing of the Mariners...I should just keep telling you he sucks lol...

This game is teasing me right now. I'm not crazy about text sims because I like actually PLAYING the game, but OOTP is so in depth that it's almost worth not actually playing the game.

Ugh. Trying to fight off the urge. Game gets overwhelming.

Played one of the versions a bit a few years back, 8 or 9 maybe?

Anyway, I got in to 14 last night. Started up with the Twins with the All In One add on. Goodness gracious, the pitching situation throughout this organization has to be the worst of any team. I've got some work ahead of me.

And now we approach the key moment of my franchise, do I trade Giancarlo blah

Well I was leaning to trading him, but currently through June 1st i'm 27-28 and he's leading MLB in HRs with 18

Updates on my Marlins, simmed a lot of games and am 48-46 at the All Star break.

Biggest news would be that I decided to go ahead and extend Giancarlo with a 6 years $77 million contract since we were winning games and I figured the team will only get better in the future. Stanton and Cishek represented the Marlins in the all star game.

                  Notable Stats:
                  Stanton: .279/.365/.568 29HRs 62RBIs
                  Kevin Slowey 8-5 131IP 2.68 ERA .98 WHIP
                  Jose Fernandez 7-7 120IP 3.00 ERA 1.25 WHIP 40BB/104Ks

As you can probably tell i'm kind of addicted right now, knocked out the entire season. Finished 77-85, ridiculous schedule down the stretch did my team in. Stanton finished as the MLB leader with 47 HRs. Detroit beat St. Louis in the World Series.

Gonna have to let Ricky Nolasco walk which hurts I guess cause he was rated as my best pitcher, but not worth $14 million a year. I may have some extra $$ in FA to toss around to get another decent pitcher if needed. Will probably also play more games next season since i'll have hopefully a better lineup.

Will update awards as they come in:
                    Stanton- GG in RF
                    Adeiny Hechavarria- GG at SS

Not mine but Billy Hamilton NL ROY with 105 SBs....damn

Good News: I made the playoffs with the Mets. I think I won the division, can't remember.

Bad News: My laptop somehow got damaged and needs repairing.

Worse News: I lost Matt Harvey for 10 months.

I don't get the development process really I guess. Marisnick started off with atleast a 4.5 star potential and is now a 2 star in spring straining despite tearing it up at AA all last season.

                        '14 Rotation:
                        Ubaldo Jimenez
                        Jose Fernandez
                        Henderson Alvarez
                        Gavin Floyd
Kevin Slowey(Jacob Turner may replace him later on)

                        LF Christian Yelich
                        SS Adeiny Hechavarria
                        1B Logan Morrison
                        RF Giancarlo Stanton
                        2B Dustin Ackley
                        3B Nick Castellanos
CF Justin Ruggiano(I wanted Marisnick up, but idk what happened with his ratings)
                        C Rob Brantly

We got no-hit by Yu Darvish. He allowed 2 walks. The first runner was erased by a double play and the second by a pickoff. So he faced the minimum.

How do you guys handle the first year player draft? I always pick a player for the first 2 rounds then get impatient and just click "complete draft". I was wondering how you guys do it and how you make it more interesting.

After the first 10 rounds or so I just let the computer do it all.

Just did my 2nd draft with the Marlins and this time I went with BPA available for my 1st rounder with a CF, even though i'm pretty stacked on OFs. And then just did the same throughout, but my next 3 picks were all starting pitchers. My 1st draft I went a combination of both as this catcher was the BPA and I needed one so it worked out.

Overall I love this draft system more then any other game, probably because i'm not so focused on filling positions as I am just acquiring talent.

Finished my 2nd season 80-82, disappointing as at the All Star break I was 10 above .500. Was only 1 back for a wild card spot really late in the season, but playing Atlanta didn't help the cause.

Need better pitching as the middle of my line up was outstanding. My market size has increased to Below Avg. so that's awesome for a little more $$ as I had to trade Cishek so that I could have a little extra cash to pay my draftees(Which was fine though as he kept blowing saves). LoMo gets hitter of the year award
