Edit mode is in?! What a surprise! That makes all the difference in the world...

Though that video is for the Wii... I wonder if the PS2 got it too.

I am playing the heck out of this game, on normal mode, I went into Yankee Stadium, and built up a nice 7-0 lead by the 6 inning...Then it all came crashing down on me, w/ 2 on Giambi blasted on to center field made it 7-5
and they took the lead 10-8 going into the 9th. On comes's Mariano and Sori hit a dbl with 2 on and 2 outs to tie 10-10. Then Cano hit a bleeder down the right field line w/ a man on 2nd and he scored. The cool thing was after the game, Cano was player of the game and it said he had a walk off dbl to win the game

            Couple quick hits:

            - you CAN edit players. Names, appearance, attributes. Looks like you can edit everything about a player. I was able to edit the fake Bnods to teh real one and also up Fielder's power rating.

            - You can pitch with the behind the pitcher view.

            - You can turn off teh strike zone and ball markers, but I don't think you can turn off teh batting cursor.

            - The ballparks should be pretty accurate. Miller Park had the slide and the bleachers right. Looked pretty spot on.

After just one game I'm already loving this. Despite the "kiddie" looks, this is definitely a deep game that stays true to baseball. The look to this is a nice breath of fresh air.

There are seven players in triple AAA to start with, but it looks like you can create up to 16 players for AAA. Some of this stuff is hard to figure out. When you trade or try to trade...there is no instant gratification, you have to wait at least four days for that team to get back with you

I agree, barrett is still with the Cubs as well as Isturiz. I could not find a way to move guys in between teams...like roster management style. It looks like the only to fix certain rosters is to change that players name and attributes,# etc.etc.

I could be wrong on this fact, as I have stated before, there is so much to do, and so much information, I could be missing something

I've been waiting for this series to hit the states for years.

Question for anyone playing this on an HDTV: Does the game support widescreen, or do you get those annoying black bars on the left and right sides?

You edit rosters using Arrange Mode. If the US version is anything like the Japanese, you'll need to earn 100,000 points just to be able to use Arrange teams in Season.

I am playing on a 51 inch DLP and it looks great and there are no black bars to speak of

That makes alot of sense, this could be why I feel locked of certain aspects. Thats why they include the instruction booklet, yet I never take the time to read those things.

Nice. I was disappointed after reading no edit... Now it's looks like this game could be a hit! Corny pun intended.

If I'm inspired by the game I may just have to make some classic teams.

This may not be the 'thread' for this, but I'm frustrated with 2K right now.

The PawaPuro series is known for deep, rich, realistic gameplay. And, the advertising campaign is based on this. "The most realistic baseball game ever created!" it says. "Players to not include legs." So, essentially, despite the looks, the game is marketed as 'sim.'

However, every website preview has called it 'arcade' and 'geared towards kids.' Consistently. Are PR people at 2K not doing their jobs? Furthermore, the game is sliding entirely 'under the radar.' Where are the reviews, magazine previews, gameplay movies, etc? It's as if 2K wants to 'cash in' on a niche fan base and a rabid Wii contingent desperate for baseball. But, they don't want to steal thunder from their own series.

Well, we can't have it both ways. Publish it 'right' - or don't publish at all. I say market and advertise the hell out of it - for what it is (sim) - and let the chips fall where they may. Even if it outsold 2K's own baseball titles, they're still going to make a lot of money.
